I’m loving these videos. I think we need to see more documentaries dedicated to showing popular aquarium fish in the wild. There are a lot of videos about aquarium fish in captivity but minimal documentaries about how they actually live in nature, so this is refreshing.

Magnificent video! Just stumbled upon your channel. I am curious: What equipment did you use to film? I am quite a novice in underwater filming, other than some minor experience with a GoPro, which, of course, can't get close focus and macro shots. Cheers! And keep up the good work!

I think it would be really rad if you voiced over the footage or found a human to do it. You have incredible footage and descent writing, but the AI voice takes away personality. If I didn't know you from before, I would have quickly clicked away and hit "do not recommend channel" because I would have assumed it was AI slop.

This was such an incredible documentary to watch! Very important for reframing the idea of the 'puddles' beginner hobbyists believe they live in. For me, it also was eye opening to see how little 'tint' was actually in the water despite the presence of so much leaf litter. Speaks volumes to the amount of water flow that must be going through their ecosystems.

this video reminds me when I was a kid, in BKK 30 years ago, there were natural ponds where Croaking gourami (called "PLA-GRIM" in Thai) and Betta splendens (called "PLA-GUT" in Thai) exist, but nothing left in present days.

That is pretty much the story of California with its Portugal like climate. It was a soft-finned fish paradise from minnow like fish to giant minnow like fish such as the Hitch and Squawfish. Then every predatory fish species east of the Rockies was introduced. Rare to find native fish anywhere in the state.

Tremendous photography Rodrigo, I very much enjoyed it in very HD on my 55" TV. A real treat to see our aquarium fish in a clear rich tropical stream. Tinfoil barbs are so beautiful, always liked them since the early 70's.. I noticed at about the 2 minute mark Cycads growing along the banks, very cool plants. What a paradise.

I had the similar Greenlined Rasbora. As perfect as Aquarium fish get. Only the relatively short lifespan is a drawback. They shoaled and enjoy the sunlight that lit up the aquarium a few hours a day. Looks like you already have one of the best Aquarium channels on YOUtUBE. Keep up the good work!

I have saved several betta's from the evil, draconian Petco empire. They had them in tiny little plastic cups with barely enough water to cover them. They all have large tanks with heaters, air filters and live plants that are native to their habitat. My bettas are very spoiled.

Beautiful video and I learned a lot…thank you. When people defend keeping bettas in tiny containers, I counter with a description of how they live in their natural habitat and a quick lesson in toxins. I will now add a referral to this video. Personally, I believe they should be kept in a 10 gallon tank at the very least and at best should have companions like rasboras or other community fish in a much larger tanks. If health ever permits, mine will go in a 20 gallon planted tank with carefully introduced friends. Just look at all the space they have in nature! If they don’t die of toxins in far in small containers, they die from illnesses brought on by stress. In the USA there is little in the way of protection for pet amphibians, reptiles or fish, crabs, etc.
