A Christmas Eve and Christmas Day hike to Mount Bogong. Mountain Creek campsite was full but otherwise we had the mountain and Bivouac Hut to ourselves. The hike up staircase spur is challenging, especially with an overnight pack. We dumped a lot of weight at the hut before summiting and returning for a night of camping. Exit again was via staircase spur.

A group of us hiked the Great Ocean Walk in December 2023. We were lucky to have 5 days of great weather and only one day of rain. This trip was a bit of a change for me as we stayed in cabins instead of camping. Each day we had a bed, shower and excellent food.

The Bungonia Slot Canyon is located in Bungonia NP and is a Grade 5 hike due to its steep ascent, bouldering and steep ascent out. I spent 3 days hiking in the Blue Mountains taking on the Grade 5 Mount Solitary loop starting in Katoomba. The circuit took in Ruined Castle, Mount Solitary, Kedumba River and valley and a long slog back up to Katoomba. This loop is a Grade 5 hike with over 2000m of ascent.
