What then is the doctrine of the Uk constitution?

Good day, I'm a first year student of the law in Jamaica. You have just confirmed some of what I was taught few months ago. However, I would I like you explain briefly, 1. If a police officer in Jamaica can be charge and convicted for gross negligence Manslaughter if he saw a man being murder amd did nothing at all in his powers to stop such act; 2.what would be his defence to such a charge, and; 3. Are there any cited case law in Jamaica to back such principle. Thanks in advance
freedom, Donald Trump and J.D. Vance have stripped those fundamental rights from people across the country. In fact, J.D. Vance supports a nationwide abortion ban and blocked protections for IVF. Stripping person of their reproductive rights is civil rights violation under the color of law - this should not be allowed tolerated or enforced!!! No one should be able to decide this for an individual yet it has been done ✔️ check and lances constitutional rights along with amendments and bill of rights protect all of against this abuse - full restitution!!! We the People !

Thanks for this, Sir. Do you think there is a defensible reason for keeping both the framework for registered and unregistered land, still in 2024? Why shouldn’t the UK Parliament make a law requiring all unregistered land to be registered and within a certain period of coming into ownership. The registration could be online, free or attract nominal fees, to encourage owners of unregistered land to register. Grateful for your views. Thanks in advance

"Popularity?" "Resurgence?" One suspects you have no idea what is Natural Law?
On the basis of my use of "popularity" and "resurgence"?
@@lawacademylectures - None of those first seven-minutes has to do with Natural Law, nor is it heading in a productive direction. If otoh, you were to criticize modern Natural Law as perverting original intent, then you might be putting your first foot in the proper direction. Perhaps, a brief review and how/why Modern Natural Law went wrong? But you decided to talk about 'popularity' instead, as if popularity was a virtue. Truth is the virtue. Rightness is a virtue, not 'popularity.'
I don't think you understand what these lessons are. They're to educate, to enlighten, not to preach a particular world view or a legal theory. I am not a proponent of natural law, but yes, since the end of the second world war, the natural law traditions did see something of a resurgence in academia.

I have my doubts about the non-retrospectiveness of the Rule of Law. In a case more than a decade ago now Tescos was found guilty of not paying a certain cohort of its workers the correct amount compared others and was obliged to pay compensation for those years. The case was not decided on the grounds that Tesco had acted contrary to employment law (ie knowingly) - you can bet Tesco had acted with plenty of legal advice. But that the judges 'clarified' the law. Therefore the 'punishment' was retrospective. And the Rule of Law also failed by it's other principle elucidated here: failing to be clear. The recent case of Birmingham Council having to back-pay women's bonuses is similar. Secondly, if access to justice is part of the definition of Rule of Law and only the top 10% can afford it and the bottom poorest are subsidised with Legal Aid, then middle 80% is excluded, and rule of law is a fantasy for most people, without fund raising. That may be a political question (funding) more than a legal one, but even so.

Attorneys are not taught the science of jurisprudence because ideas like habeas corpus could stand in the way of the mythology necessary to create a world government. Western society is under a transformation from juristic (Equality of right) to ethical (Equality in fact). No better lawyer than the Sage of Konnisberg (Kant). Best scholar on jurisprudence was Savigney, also German. No wonder our new God's said "Germany must perish". Ethical systems are entirely based on statutory law, juristic systems are based on statutory law but with the regulative principle of reason as the highest law. Read old law books. Pfendorf.
