I also rode up Helvellyn on a non e-bike which you have to do from the Keswick end on the old coach road and go over about 4 peaks prior to getting to the top of Helvellyn. Great feeling once you achieve it.

I’ve done skiddaw twice to the top before e-bikes existed. Great ride up and down even better. 😂😂😂

Went up and down on a “manual” bike in 2003…I was fitter back then tho. Went through a set of V brake pads coming down!!

That bridge caught me out last week snapped my brake lever

Of all the vids i have watched of helvellyn i think you really show it in a true light, most skip bits of it that they feel is not worthy of showing and yourcamera position really shows how steep it is and how rideable for mere mortals! Thanks mate! Top Banana 😊

Yes a great way, well I think it is from Skiddaw House, ride from dash falls or lattrig ride round the North side to Skiddaw House, then straight up, between little man and Skiddaw turn right to the top . You will need an ebike well I did 😊

It's possible. I did it this week on Bosch motor. Have to use Turbo on that steep section with seat dropped.

Cutting across the run and side swiping someone is bad. The fact that you were going just fast enough that you inched your nose in front the moment before the collision doesn't make you the "downhill skier", IMO.

The snowboarder was behind the skier. Yes the skier cut across him but still. Everyone should have been more careful

JUST before the snowboarder gets cut off, he does the exact same thing to the skier in the gray jacket, who is aware of their surroundings and maneuvered to avoid this amateur endangering everyone on the slope. The skier in the red jacket is also a moron, but the snowboarder is plainly at fault.

Having walked Skiddaw I take my hat off to you doing that decent like you did. It is so bloody steep it's not fun to walk down let alone cycle. Even on the path back to Keswick I admire your pace. Great video.

That climb is definitely doable on a e bike in turbo with good psi in tyres. It would take some lungs though 😂

I am aware of my surroundings and keep my head on a swivel whenever I go skiing and have avoided many a collision because of that. I have no problems backing off if it’s obvious the other person is oblivious of their surroundings.
