Was throwing a jerk bait and inline spinner ans couldn't get a anything. They were hitti g topwater and it has been sub 30⁰ all week. Creek comes out of mountain and only has trout chub abs a bluegill in a deeper slow hole thats veen stocked by a beighbor but they usually dont last. So what were the trout eating? I dip my pole in the water when they're frozen up. Just have to constantly dip.

This is very helpful. I'm in Indiana and we have only a handful of creeks that are stocked with trout and so far I've had zero luck. I got a lot of this same advice from my local fly shops. Not going to stop trying though

This is s shitty video with tons of misinformation. Your leader should be tapered in fact, enabling you to cast effectively with a similar technique to what you would use with a standard floating line and 9ft tapered leader. And this applies to running 20 ft of mono behind your EN specific leader or a specialized EN fly line. Also, when utilizing two flies with one on a tag dropper, the heavier fly should be on the end of the main tippet section of your leader. That is, it should be the bottom fly and the lighter fly should be on the tag dropper above. The reasoning behind this comes down to preserving contact and sensitivity. There’s more bs in this video so beware.
