I realize this is an old video and you’ve probably already found the solution to your decal issues. But, in the chance that you haven’t - first, Tamiya decals are good decals but they do tend to be thick. As you found, they need help snuggling down. So here’s my solution: 1.) use a setting solution such as Mr Mark Setter and wet the area where you will place the decal; 2.) Soak the decal in HOT (not warm) water to soften it; 3.) place the decal and start to work the water/setting solution out from beneath the decal as much as possible - if you used HOT water be careful, the decal will be soft and easily torn; 4.) Coat the decal with a decal solvent such as Mr. Mark Softer - be extremely careful now - the decal is very soft; and 5.) Here’s the key - use a hair dryer or heat gun to gently heat the decal - the combination of decal solvent and heat will cause the decal to conform to even complex curves - at this point you want to avoid touching the decal at all - if you must touch the decal use a soaking wet cotton bud (Q-Tip) and be very gentle.

Good job! You had me nervous with some aggressive weathering techniques, but your result was very nice.

Weathering was phenomenal! For most modern naval jets like f-14 f-18 that would be too much but because of all of the smoke and pollution from diesel carriers wich these where pretty much only stationed on they got alot dirtier than hers on nuclear powered carriers. So it really gives you that dirty grimy oily feel that I’d imagine that F-4s would have.

Nice. I had those little sensors on the vertical stabilizers break off, so I replaced them with copper rods. I'm currently working on this kit on my own channel over the past year or so. I'm nearly done with it.

What 's that flexible material wich you masked to paint the camouflage? In what language are the instructions?

I guess that's one way of building and painting a model tank. You've put some decent effort into your model however I would always recommend applying some primer before the application of the base colour. I used to paint the parts on the sprue when I first started this hobby many years ago but read an article by the late great Shep Paine in a Military Modelling magazine and I went from there as part of the never ending learning curve of this hobby. I built the Tamiya Tiger 1 'initial production' in 2019 but used a metal barrel from Aber and some photo-etch parts plus some of my own added additions such as the light cables etc . A lot of modellers make the mistake of painting the barrel muzzle in black instead of the same colour as the barrel and this Tiger 1 you have done i.e. turret no.813 belonged to the schwere Panzer Abt. 501 and the gun barrels were painted in the 'tropen' colour(s). I wouldn't have used aluminium or 'burnt iron' as this is totally innaccurate. Some panzers still left their main guns painted in the dark grey but records show that none of the Afrika Tigers had this. You have mastered the basics of building a model tank so may I recommend you watch videos by M.Kovac -'Nightshift' so you can make your builds even better.

Good! I am building the hasegawa 1/48. I love the Phantom..but the canopy is very boring to masks! Hasegawa is a good kit, but the kit is a common (also old) kit with many different versions..i have the "J" but the main sprue of the fuselage have details of the usaf versions and it is easy to make disaster trying to fix them. Do you like the Academy kit? Trouble? It is a good kit for the price? I would buy the Sundowners version.
