มุมมอง 2742 ปีที่แล้ว
On a memorable episode of "Friday Night, Saturday Morning," 9 November 1979, hosted by Tim Rice, a discussion was held about the then newly released film Monty Python's Life of Brian, which had been banned by many local councils and caused protests throughout the world with accusations that it was blasphemous. To argue in favour of this accusation were veteran broadcaster and noted Christian Ma...

Really pleased to see these again, remember the series on TV. Just watch the baby being taken to hospital, that was intense, great work by all involved, including the bloke in a van who was roped in to take the winchman to the airport and lead the ambulance back to the helicopter.
very enjoyable
Brilliant documentary
This era had the best theme music.
Loved that 👏🏻
Excellent upload. Great watch. Love to hear this bit of rave culture so many years later.
what's the name of opening song
Wish could get hold of the full series
Hi is episode 10 available please. I think I was involved in it. One of the missing.
John Prince is a Boss.👊🧑✈️
How, many more times his wife mentions he was poor brought up in poverty well you was not according to you.
Seems like the wife cares more about money and fame and sean cared about being efficient and doing good work.
Wow I thought he was living in the Bahamas at that time Spain is nice for living ❤
been looking for this series on all the streaming services so i’m glad to see it’s up for free on youtube! just gotten through budding rose so looking forward to the rest of the series
❤️
Man it’s crazy how the Bishop and that other guy were absolute buffoons.
Rip from Sean Connery
✔️
39:38 Something very Princess-Anne-like in this young lady…
Loved watching this as a young man. Probably what inspired me to become a commercial helicopter pilot in part, now having over 10,000 hours flying over the North Sea in the past 25+ years. Are you able to locate the missing 5 episodes? Namely 4: Worse Things Happen At Sea, 8: Chox’s Lecture, 9: Water Falls, 10: Missing, 13: Sting In TheTale Be It would be brilliant if you could upload them.
Most enjoyable and informative
And the nomination for the best mustache goes to 1:15:52
Any moustache is worthy of a moustache ride 😂
This was my absolute favorite show when I was a child living in England.
Good evening everyone
This is really, really good stuff! Kudos and respect the member of the RAF and RN SAR crews over the years...
I remember the meningitis episode - I was a kid watching when it was first shown. I went on to train as a nurse and ended up working at that hospital on Skye. Still live there!
Candel sticks must have candel stick s
Very interesting. Thank you.
Hi team if my memory serves me right Bob Pointney was stationed at R.A.F.Valley 70/71 22sqd.C flight
I remember when they came to help us look for a lost 5 yr old child about 50 Miles away from RAF Kinloss, the local police and rescue teams handed over control of the search to our RAF Kinloss mountain rescue team, we called in the Sea King to help, we were all heartbroken when the winchmen saw him stuck in bushes in the edge of a stream, can't imagine what they actually go through doing this every day.
Brilliant television [on youtube]. Meanwhile on terrestrial TV in 2022, the quality of programming has reached the dizzy heights of Love Island.
Baby story was a tear jerker but he lives today thanks to that rescue! Beautiful brave, good ppl. That's what we need more of in this world!! 🌎
What great service these men do
Great series none of the 'modern' patronising overtalk and excessive dramatic music. Clearly Mr Berriff understood the word documentary. I love how cool these guys are even after a ditching it's just like another day at the office. Best of British!
Just lads cracking on, doing the job as best they can.
I live on Skye and it doesn’t surprise me that there’s next to no local voices! The area is full of incomers.
its sad because there really is a lot of space here . Thousands more used to lived here so theres room for all the locals and more . Stand your ground .
Paul Berriff was a very good friend of mine, he founded the Lifeboat on the Humber Estuary which I was a Crewman on, such a resilient man and makes stunning documentaries, thanks for sharing this video, I have a huge soft spot for the Seaking, having worked with them in the SAR world and in the military.
I live near the Isle of Skye in the Scottish highlands and I used to watch this series as a kid - I’m 44 now. I joined the Coastguard as an 18 year old and I loved the Seaking too. The noise of it coming up the glen made the hair on my neck stand on end!
They could've played piano music
💓👍🏿👀 5/9/22
I remember watching these when they were first broadcast. I have them all on DVD now.
Biggest thing I'd like to know is this; is "Baby Sam" still alive, and moreover, I wonder if he's ever seen the episode that detailed the fight to keep him alive. That was a hell of an effort, and lovely to see the crew of 137 go to the hospital to see him.
Watched on Sunday evening, then flipped over for The Wonder Years.
202 Rescue You. Support 202 Sqn .... Get lost. What a job they did.
Loves this show! Is there Any chance you could find the old BBC Series Redcaps: Policing the Army(1995) or the Real Redcaps (2003) would love to see them again
Hi from England Since Sean died 31st October 2020 aged 90 i have watched lots of video posted about his life including documentaries aired on TV from the late 1970's s to the early 2000's when in Britain we only had 2 TV channels, the BBC and ITV till around 1982. People have commented on the videos about Sean and how he loved SCOTLAND SO MUCH BUT HE LEFT SCOTLAND around 1952 ISH and could not get away quick enough BUT PLEASE THINK ABOUT WHY HE LEFT. It was ECONOMICS and to BETTER HIMSELF HAVE A BETTER LIFE I give example of my own maternal grandmother. She was born in CO MAYO IRELAND in 1885 and left IRELAND for ENGLAND in 1901 to GET WORK AND A BETTER LIFE.
England is the best country.
Suggest watching his 1967/1968 interview on Belfast jack TH-cam channel👌
@ I started to watch lots of TH-cam videos on subjects I like and when Sean died 4 years ago TODAY 😭😭😭😢😢🙏🙏 we learnt what he died of. A good age 90 but I felt so sad as my mom died in 2019 aged 93 of the exactly the same ailments and dementia. Horrible disease I would not wish on my worst enemy. I spent time on anything connected to Sean. Yes I have watched this video👍 👍 👍 It’s ‘funny’ you should send a reply as I’ve just been watching Sean star in Frightened City released in 1961 👍 👍 ❤️❤️🏴
@joanne26 Sorry for your loss 😞 may your mother RIP 🕊️ Sadly a lot of what Sean said regarding Government, Unions and bad management back then, still applies today! 😕
Brilliant :-) Our family had the first ski school at the Balavil Arms Hotel in Newtonmore in 1948 here is the Pathe Newsreel Clips Thanks Ruaridh Ormiston. th-cam.com/video/59Ol9SxOYBo/w-d-xo.html
I loved this programme. Brave men indeed. I applaud you guys.
I’m absolutely delighted to find these here, I loved this show as a child!
Bob Pountney. He was at RAF Chivenor when I was posted there in 71. Good bunch of chaps.
What happened to the guys, I know Bob is living his retirement, John and the others ?
Bob lives near Kinloss and is on the board that runs the Morayvia Air Museum. Paul “Gramps” Challice is also in the board but lives a long way south in England. I understand John Prince still lives in the Moray area of Scotland. I met Bob and Paul a few year ago. Chox Barton and Paul Redfern are on Facebook but I haven’t had any direct contact with them and not do I know about the remainder of the crews. I got in touch with Bob and Paul through a family friend who also volunteers at Morayvia who was onboard the Nimrod “Rescue01” during the Piper Alpha incident.
Harry Watt was a CHC pilot in Aberdeen but retired a few years back now.
Ian Bonthrone is managing director or Air Rescue UK, he pops up on my LinkedIn a lot.
I wish I knew people who had historical stuff so I could go to their house and they could show it all to me. I would sit for hours and listen attentively while you go on and on. No problem. Just need coffee or tea. xoxoxo history lovers.
Thank you
