Top Man Mick💙👊🏻
I only drank on days that ended in Y. lol. August 28, 2007
To escape out of the cult and free yourself from addiction and save your children you have to understand reality. I am a psychologist and recovering addict and i want to help you. The truth is addiction is the psychology of a liar. You have to be honest!, you have to be a good person!. The truth that saves literally your life is atheism is a logical fallacy that assumes God is the religious idea of the creator of the creation to conclude wrongly no creator exists because a particular idea of God doesn’t exist. The truth that sets you free is atheism is a logical fallacy that assumes God is "sky daddy" to conclude wrongly no creator exists because a particular idea of God doesn’t exist. God exists because logically it is impossible the existence of the creation or finitude without the creator or infinitude, and if you don't believe me you can read Spinoza. To end the war and other undesirable suffering the discovery that atheism is a logical fallacy has to be news. Obviously if the discovery that atheism is a logical fallacy is not news is because I am suffering the most severe and devastating censorship in history. Emergency! You can be the hero that saves the world! Thank you.
Gambling addiction is so bad I've worked in a bookies most of my life and its so awful to see.
What clean you talk.Iam not drug person.they knew Iwas somalia waeking humantar and bizines and more.what clean you talkgot my job not puid
This man is an inspiration. Really blown away how he survived his childhood and got clean and sober in spite of such a traumatic childhood. We are so blessed in recovery 🦋🙏🏼🦋
Any ex addict can spot another addict a mile off
Brilliant, informative podcast. Speakers are so relatable 👏👍
Do you know how strong Oliver Reed was ? Maybe he had a point . The Brits have been drinking beer and rum for millennia, seems they conquered the world pissed up.
They consider it a test to put you through the wringer and see if your training can pull you through, despite the drawbacks...
Sounds like your lower level superiors are dumb as hell... "Sir, I want to be in tip top shape and prepared for what may come at all times" and somehow that's a problem?
Fantastic podcast. Just waiting for my ADHD appointment after 4 and half years - have autism assessment first. Was encouraged to look at it after accepting I had Complex Post Traumatic Stress - now beaten. Shared to FB. Have a look at the MTHFR gene polymorphism c677t (yes it's real and yes it has a nickname!) re links to neurodivergence, addiction and trauma. Brilliant stuff guys!
To be fair, if you can’t go out at night, get bladdered & be capable of fighting off a surprise attack after a couple of hours Kip then maybe the army isn’t right for you.
....and
The rows i have had with the voice in my head.
Congratulations man
Dear god .. poor man x
Thanks for your help from experience I'm the same except I'm not a mom no body plans too be in addiction it bites us in the assss
that sounds like being an alcoholic.
😊
Thank you for sharing your story with us mate, I took a lot from it! My road was slightly different but it still left me utterly broken but I eventually made it to AA (and constantly surprising myself at how much I love it!) Slowly slowly on the mend, 7.5 months sober now.
Yes my friend!! Keep going, life is beautiful in sobriety even with life’s challenges, it’s a place that’s very special
So grateful for this. Thank you Helen for your openness and the work you do. Stu your ability to relate to people whatever they say is so amazing! 💚💛💜
Beautiful words, thank you
I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed the conversation :-)
Very interesting🤔
I’m a quadruplet and I was 11 1/2 weeks early. Is this why I’m soooo emotional?
Yup
What a legend
Fantastic mate your story is so much like mine every day at school terrified me then the alcohol and drugs was like the best medicine I’ve ever had

My mum was 18 years sober was very proud of her x she's been fine 28 years xx
My mum was may in AA she passed away from motor neurone.. she was Jeans sponsor Plaistow Bill was my mum's sponsor .spent a lot of time in meetings when I was young xx
Oh Micheal you're hilarious ... Great real talking xx Fantastic x
I'm still in treatment over 60 days sober now on step 3 and feeling really good
That’s beautiful man, I love that ❤️
Lol
Fantastic boys
I've been alcohol dependent from my early teens until well into retirement age. Despite my daily drinking I managed to have a clean driving record, a 25 year marriage, and 28 years with the same employer. But that's all gone now. I went from psychological dependence to full on physical dependence, requiring 8 in patient detoxes over the years. I gave AA a shot, but it had a negative impact on my psyche. I felt like drinking more after meetings than before I went in. I did work the steps with a sponsor and tried different meetings, but the urge to drink only grew stronger. I switched to the SMART Recovery Program and have been sober since Sept 2021.

Fantastic we need to the dangers ov drinking alcohol in to schools alcohol is a highly addictive drug but it makes all the governments so much money the only show us the bull shit adverts not the dangers ❤️
It’s the people that’s still drinking that’s got the problem not us be proud 👌👌👌👌
Lots ov people in my meeting don’t say what the do for a living Plz give it a go 👌👌👌👌
It’s your stag weekend mate don’t go we’re other people want to go it’s your choice
From one Stu to another....well done ✔️
Compulsive helpers beware. No1 recipe for burnout. Clinical supervision is a must. Get a good one that understands the complexities of this. We are all wounded healers and we need to look after ourselves. Again, great podcast fellas.
Loved the conversation. Pimple popping is an ADHD soothing gem lol Go to meetings, download the steps, share as much as you can, grab some service and a Homegroup, but most importantly, watch lots of pimple popping 🤣
😂😂😂

Sober Stu got taken for a ride by a con-man :-(
Thank you for you're comment and reminding myself that you are right I use to be a lot of things including a con man and more! Absolutely in my addiction I would go to any lengths to get my drugs, lie, cheat, steal, ect. Due to my past behaviors and the work I do, I have to always remember what I've been told, (While I was judging myself by my intentions , only others and the world will judge me by my actions. Obviously from your comment I have more work to do! I HAVE TO REMEMBER, TODAY IS THE 1ST DAY OF THE REST OF MY LIFE, IM GOING TO MAKE IT PRODUCTIVE AND MEMORABLE. I HAVE JUST BECOME THE CAUSE FOR MY FUTURE, RATHER THEN THE EFFECTS OF MY PAST! Again you're comment and I'll end this , I have to own It! God bless Lang Martinez
