Love that undubbed Early Morning Rain. The clear guitar picking and more intimate vocal are gorgeous. I love the Sweet Inspirations but this song is better without any background vocals. Feels like a soft jam around a cabin fireplace. Now is an underrated album IMO. I think if they'd taken the better tracks from Now and Love Letters, focus on the folky / bluesy / acoustic tracks with fewer overdubs, it could compete with Elvis Country or That's the Way It Is. Maybe use the more Vegas style ballads and replace some Stax tracks on of Good Times, Raised on Rock or Fool - those are more uneven imo. Then again I know they had to release all they had. Putting more than 10 tracks per LP wouldn't have hurt either, but I imagine the Col. didn't want to give away any more than necessary. Anyway thanks for posting.

Elvis was king of rhythm and blues, rock.n roll , then it's ,little Richard ,jerry lee Lewis, Chuck berry.buddy holly, big bopper,bill Haley these are just some of the originalist who started it , Elvis just borrowed their songs and sang them , Elvis was king at what he did ,but not rock and roll. Elvis once said, there is only one king. I don't think he liked that title much . Elvis the greatest performer that ever walk the earth and more famous than the presidents of America.

On June 23 1990 i went to my first Stones concert in Paris, which was part of the Urban Jungle Tour. The ticket, which i still keep, had that drawing. Good times and memories. Greetings from Argentina, Stone Land. Good stuff !

This is my absolute favorite album of any artist, ever!! His voice at this time period was just so raw and sexy!! And hearing these outtakes with his humor and infectious laugh makes it even better, if that’s possible. I actually like these under produced versions better than those on the album. Just doesn’t get any better❤ Thank you for sharing this.

Great performance, Elvis takes audiences' lack of applause seriously and tries to do songs they want. In the afternoon Elvis's not fully awake so he's half awake at first. In timelines, it says he was dating Sheila Ryan and had to go in the hospital in Fall of 1974 and Linda Thompson comforted him. As he introduces his group near the early part of this show, its clear he is clear headed.

Wow, those band introductions are awesome. You could tell Elvis was really into it. This must be one of the first times the band did solos. This is how it developed into the solos that became a part of every show in the years that followed. Elvis sounds pretty wired here and you don’t know what he’s going to say next. Fascinating stuff.
