No secret really… I think I’m just naturally quite an anxious person and I’ve learnt I have to tell myself to be calm over and over because that’s how I overcome the nerves.

@@jonnykyt Contracts is a staple in the first year of law school in the U. S. (it's a full-year course here). If you can find a late-70s U. S. film called "The Paper Chase", it's one I recommend that all law students watch at least once. It is a pretty good representation of how law was taught in the U. S. at the time of its release. The case involves a suit against a doctor who was practicing skin grafting in its early days. He advertised guaranteed perfect results. A Mr. Hawkins sought out treatment for a damaged (Burned?) hand. The Dr. grafted skin from the back of his neck. The hand was healed, but the grafted skin grew hair. Mr. Hawkins sued and the rest is history, at least in the U. S.

This is actually fascinating! We have a similarly iconic case called Carlill v Carbolic Smokeball dating back to 1892. It’s all about a company which sold a flu medicine. It advertised that anyone who took the drug and still got flu would receive a £100 payout. A person did get the flu and tried to claim the money, but they refused to pay. The court compelled Carbolic Smokeball to make the payment as they had made a unilateral offer which was accepted by conduct.

Studying in Robinson is amazing. The difficulty of the degree of course depends on the course but for law it is complex but also very enjoyable. I reckon I study about 35-40 hours per week (6ish hours per day 6 days per week)

I saw many websites and each of them has a different answers . I am really interested to communicate with someone who can give me the full answer about my questions . I visited both and I simply decided that I’d rather live in Cambridge rather than Oxford. That’s all I could judge it on as both universities are equally as good in all other aspects. Thanks for all the support!

@@jonnykyt It was an LWT series from the 1980s derived from a series of novels about a somewhat eccentric barrister. Very funny. You can find excerpts on TH-cam.

@@jonnykyt Like many Americans, my impressions of Oxford come primarily from watching the Endeavour/Morse/Lewis t.v. series. Your Vlogs from Cambridge, therefore, are very important. I know little of Cambridge beyond the iconic picture of King's College. My impression, having watched all of your episodes, is that Cambridge University is more spread out than Oxford, which appears to me to be a university dropped into a congested, medieval village. Do you have any thoughts about that?

There are so many opportunities for religion in Cambridge for people of all faiths. To answer your question specifically there are loads of Christian fellowship groups organised at college and uni level. Also there are so many different churches which students attend. Also, I am part of my college chapel choir and they are the main source of choral singing in Cambridge. I can only speak for my choir and you absolutely do not need to read music to audition. There are also loads of musical theatre opportunities in Cambridge. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jonny for the reply and sharing about experiences. Hey I got some more ideas for your channel. How about do a video of your walks and hikes around Cambridge. Think lots of young people are drawn to Cambridge precisely because of the verdant campus and the lush greenery. Maybe some drone photography? Shalom and may the Lord bless the work of your hands even as you continue to study to be His advocate.

I applied to Jesus College but they didn’t accept me. So I went into what was called the winter pool. I then was offered a place by Robinson college. And I’m so happy things happened like that because Robinson is so great. So really if you don’t get into your first choice college there is still hope :)

@jonnykyt many law students in the U. S. are "political junkies". Do you follow politics in the U. K. and if you do, what do you think about the Parliamentary elections coming up at some point in the not too distant future? It appears to me that Labour is in a good place to win a majority, but my most-read source on U. K. politics is the Guardian.
