Al meterlos al refrigerador el contenedor no tenemos que humedecer la turba y el coco ? O es suficiente con las 4-6 horas que remojas las semillas ?
@@alondrapando3673 hola, si se humedece pero muy Poco. No encharcar
Hey great video mate 👍 i just got my seeds so im about to begin the long journey, after the germination process how many seeds do you plant in a pot ? I have about 20 seeds ....
Is perlite good too?
Thats the leader I would also have chosen. Your trunk is much bigger than mines. Even though theyre 10 years old but sharing a small amount of soil between 5 trees. I have another tree. A bald cypress with the pond cypress "nutans" grafted onto it. I did a trunk chop early last year but now its bigger than ever. I'm planning an even more severe trunk chop opperation once the leaves come off. And to shorten the branches I wish to keep. I'll need to so I can fit it into storage. I'm running out of space
Have you started dealing with the bulge that develops where the Montezuma gets pruned? Or are you worried about that. I started to carve some of them off. Its early going yet and it could result in even more bulging? I bring some of mine inside over winter so this might continue once I thouroghly inspect the progress. Also besides pulling entire leaves do you ever just shorten some? Also time to sharpen up the Felcos. I just did that.
al final que paso que pasoooOO!
I'm not sure why you'd need sacrifice branches for pomegranates? My main problem is I leave too many branches on. Then they flower get fruit then I can never bring myself to cut them off? theyr're real growers when happy. The weight of the fruit may actually help the habit of the treee giving it a dome effect before eventially cutting them off. Pomegrantes are interesting plants in that they have flowers with both parts but also only male that will fall off like any unfertilized flowers. So you get a lot more?
Good to see your still into those montezuma ones. They continue to be a favourite. Are those prpagated in just water or are those dunked in soil? I realy dow't want to know. Too many is my problem. lack of space. too much mess No plan what to do with it all?
Where do you get your seeds
@@RebeccaCurry-m3d i got these from AliExpress... They don't carry seeds anymore. You could try ebay or etsy. Cheers!

I've germinated many batches and never once have I stratified JBPs. I guess the freshness of the seed is also a factor but give it a try. Cheers!

Saludos!
I have bought seeds online from different suppliers and still cant get ANY to germinate. Tried several different methods, splitting the seeds up per pack with the different methods (yours, ziplock bag, soil outside over winter, etc).. literally every method. Where on earth can we buy fresh seeds from??? And able to choose the type of sakura we want.
Please adjust the camera you can't see anything you're doing
Hi, if I have missed the update,my apologies, but how is the edible ficus coming on?
I didn't like your video. Because it's noisy and the explanation is taking too long which means you don't know what you're talking about.
I think I might’ve missed it but did you say you had a video on how you started the mini Ecosystem in the pot? This looks super cool for scenic bonsai, it looks like a little chunk of nature!

Nice Video Rick, what zone are you growing in? Its just starting to feel like summer where I live.
I had no idea. I used google and the result from one of those interactive maps says 11a. Makes sense cause they go from lower temperatures to higher. Summer here now 🥵🤣
@@ricklandaubonsai5506 that explains it, I'm zone 7. It's interesting to see other people's growing conditions.
Hmmm…so I have a small seedling growing. I didn’t realize this type of tree loves water.
They absolutely love it. You can almost guarantee they'll root if you stick them in the mud completely covered by water 👌🏻
Would be informative if how old “mature “ the plant is and the best soil or substrate using also length of time it takes to bloom etc. I guess a little more detail info for first time learning.
Will keep that in mind for future installments. Thanks!
loving the cypress!
What happened to this little fella?
hi, i have a question did you scarify the seeds before putting them in the fridge?
Para dar consejos tienes que ir paso a paso en pesando como sembrar la mata,no sabes dar tutoriales.
Cierra los ojos 🤙🏻
I don't know why, my pine dies when I report it
Hello! Thanks for the comment. You gotta be very careful with pines and their transplant. Never cut too many roots, don't wash them, use a little bit of the old soil, put them in a very good draining soil, wait for the substrate to dry before you water and mist the foliage the first couple of weeks after transplant. Also keep them in semi-shade never full sun. Just a couple of tips. Hope that helps, cheers!
use cinnamon on the cuts as cinnamon is a fungicide. Try them out after putting the cinnamon. after you dry the sap. You can also use super glue or the wood glue to seal.

@@ricklandaubonsai5506 I'm looking forward to it. I found your video since I've recently got some bald cypress nursery stock I need to chop.
I crack away the hard shell, after cold stratification. Then soak and plant. Good success
I am planning to germinate a Sakura seeds. Thank you very much for sharing. Have a great time. I followed you for more. Watching from the Philippines.
Thanks!!!
Hey Rick, I love your videos, very instructive ! I sowed indoor Japanese black pine seed, about 2 weeks ago . Since few days ago, they germinated and facing south so they get lot of light. I KNOW that I should've grow it outside but my seedlings have the same height as yours, should I keep them indoor until it's getting warmer ? (I live in zone 8B, the night are around 2-4 degrees celsius) or should I keep them outdoor from now? I heard that they're very resilient when they're young but I'm afraid that the sudden change of temperature will kill them. Sorry for my english, I'm not a native english speaker.
Hey! Thanks for the comments. I would definitely wait to take them outside just to be on the safe side. Wait until they have developed a little more.. maybe a couple of weeks after the seed husks have fallen off and they've produced more roots. Also, when you take them outside don't put them in full sun immediately.. maybe indirect light for the first couple of months too. Cheers!
What zone you in, u.s. or abroad ? What time of year is what i mean ?
Not in the US, It's early spring over here.. although it's a very tropical place. Cheers!
Interesting method and l will definitely give it a go
Try it! I think it'd be really successful given your past experiences with maples. Cheers and thanks for your comments
I am so fascinated that you are not wearing gloves that is one of the most poisonous plants in the world. If you touch the roots and stuff, I once read that the natives of Africa would boil down the roots of the desert rose, so became concentrated into a sticky sap and it put on the tips of their arrows and could take down a rhino so remember to always wear your gloves when messing with poisonous plants
Excellent 🎉🎉🎉 I subscribed to your channel 😀🙏

Thanks! More updates coming. Cheers!
Hi there - would you be willing to share your process and materials used to germinate the Pinus maximartinezii seed? Thank you!
Yeah, it's really very easy. You just have to soak them for a couple hours before planting them in 100% pumice in a pot with very good drainage, i use collanders. Keep them in the shade and water them to keep the pumice moist. They should germinate in about a week. Cheers!
@@ricklandaubonsai5506Thanks for the quick reply! Would turface work the same as pumice? I see you’ve used the latter for other seeds, so just wanted to confirm. I have about 100lbs of turfsce on hand haha.
@@automaticfanatic6206 totally. I would have recommended that first but it's no longer available where I live. Only thing with turface is..it's more water retentive.. so be careful not to over water 🤙🏻
Good point, thank you so much! I may add some pea gravel as a partial substitute to offset the retention. Also, love your videos! Thanks for doing all these.
Pea gravel sounds like a good idea. I use volcanic to do just that. Thanks fof the support! cheers@@automaticfanatic6206
