Yes, I am serious about this, but I don't have the hardware to properly start yet. No, I don't want to play on emulator. I might go for a first playthrough on PAL though, since I am basically just missing a cartridge for that.
Expect me to actually start this in like 6 months from now. I plan to upload weekly improvement videos once I get going.

My life has had different plans for me; at first money was a concern, but now I am lacking time. This is still the next big thing planned for me, but I can't put a date on it. I obviously want to start sooner rather than later.

The point of this category is to get all available collectibles, without having to idle for 105 minutes in 2-2. The eighth star is only available once every other star has been collected, so that one will not be collected either. A slightly smaller improvement this time. In this category you need to collect a total of 30 pieces where you have to collect atleast 5 and at most 8 pieces from any one world. This is supposed to be a replacement for a low% run, since you can't beat the game without collecting all pieces. Not a lot of mistakes in this one. This category makes you do everything there is to do. You collect all puzzle pieces, all 8 stars and then beat the game. Unlike other 100% speedruns I collect the 2-2 star the first time I enter that level so I don't need to backtrack to it later or waste the time I already spent in it. This saves about 1 minute, but is pretty risky, because you still got the entire run ahead of you after spend...

Have any advice on cascade. I know its been years since you have posted and i dont even know if your active anymore. I can do everything until getting out of the hallway pretty consistently but stuggle finding visual cues for fireball jump
People have used many different setups over time and for the longest we stood in a specific spot and froze time to move the fireball to a specific place and then let go and ran for it, always working, but costing some time. I remember that when you stand right next to the wall you can freeze the time and align the fireball with the left side of the little window in the background (after it is done shifting due to the time stop). If you are looking for any other tips you can join the speedrun discord. It got many people, tips and tricks that can be helpful. Not sure why it wasn't linked in the description already, but I put it there now.

Good grief! How the HELL did you touch the princess without getting any stars? My personal best is like 12 minutes slower!
If you optimize your way up to the princess you can barely beat the plant cycle without the stars and save some time that way :) Just try it yourself, you got all the time to just try it out once :)
@ I’m 45. My reflexes aren’t quite that nimble.
For the puzzles at 12:18 you can go across the gap if you land on the edge for the acceleration and jump immediately. That way you don't need to waste any time climbing.
When I was playing I found it not worth it to include in my runs, but thank you for pointing out a place to improve the run :)

Он берет ее не из-за уверенности, а просто потому что так быстрее - если он ее пропустит, то потом ему нужно будет возвращаться в первый мир и затем снова пробегать облака, это секунд 10-20)

When you just got on a ladder, after being grounded, you can jump for... 8? or maybe 10?... frames after getting on it. Basically you stand on the platform where I stopped for a little bit and then jump to the right, shortly after grabbing onto, and climbing the ladder.

Whats the purpose of the star?
The sense of accomplishment
The stars are secret collectibles not mentioned anywhere in the game’s documentation. For a casual player, getting the first seven stars will make the switches in 1-1 green, which unlocks the alternate ending and the final star. Speedrunners have figured out how to get the alternate ending just with optimized movement, so the seven stars aren’t necessary to get the alternate ending anymore. But the stars are still collected in 6 star and 100% runs.

Hi. Nice run. How do you do the goomba boost at 8:51?
Sorry for the late reply, the inputs I used are visible on screen. If you do it with that goomba you just stand inside it, jump and then rewind to the first frame where Tim has his eyes closed. The frame you see me pause for a second on. Once you are frozen on that frame, the longer you hold it in that position the more speed you gain.

Apologies for the late reply. We call that trick a "Springload". We aren't 100% sure about the technical reason, but when you get a double bounce on a Monstar in world 4 and you freeze on the first frame you got the bounce, you will keep gaining horizontal speed for each frame you hold it.
@@GhERmann it happens because the bounce on the monstar exponentially builds up on every bounce. that's like that for the parts where you need to get higher so you bounce on 2 of them. the hitbox dont refresh tho so being frozen makes the flag of the double bounce be hit multiple times
