Rusty Dog & Co.
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 13 พ.ย. 2021
Hi guys! My name is Sara and I am a DIY enthusiast with a passion for DIY, woodworking and home improvement. I love tackling (and sharing) projects that I undertake with the help of my best bud (THE rusty dog himself...Murphy). From the ultimate practical projects to the more creative ones, I've always got something going on in the workshop to keep me busy. Over the years I've sort of become the type of person who isn't afraid to try something on my own, albeit some things I have vowed to not try again! This has allowed me to learn so much through experience and hopefully I can share some of that insight with people interested in doing things for the first time as well. Follow along on my journey as I create, build, repair, improve and hopefully inspire others to do the same!

Restoring a Truck Bed Using Raptor Spray-On Truck Bed Liner Kit
มุมมอง 507หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video, my Husband Phil and I tackle restoring the bed on our 2015 Toyota Tundra pickup truck. We bought this truck used about a year ago and we have been planning to work on making this truck bed look better ever since we bought it. The previous owners might not have done adequate prep work before spraying the current bed liner because it was chipping up in so many places and truly just...

Miter Saw Station | Pt 4: Dust Collection
มุมมอง 120หลายเดือนก่อน
In the final part of this Miter Saw Build series I tackle one of the more important steps when it comes to making mitered cuts indoors: adding some sort of dust collection. In this video, I make a couple of upgrades to my saw as well as my shop vacuum to help maintain cleaner air inside of my workshop. Miter Saw Station | Part 3: The Top
มุมมอง 130หลายเดือนก่อน
In part 3 of this build series, I move on to adding a top to my miter saw station. I decided to make my top out of plywood that I would install some Formica Laminate on to. Once my top was installed, I then routed out a groove for some T-Track so that I could install a fenceless stop block system for the miter saw for making repeatable cuts...something I've wanted to do for a very long time. Mi...
Miter Saw Station | Part 2: Adding Storage
มุมมอง 2032 หลายเดือนก่อน
In Part 2 of this Miter Saw Station build series, I tackle adding a TON of storage to the base of the miter saw station. This meant building and installing 15 drawers! I also added a couple of shelves for now. Honestly, I have so much storage in this miter saw station that I don't even have enough stuff to put in it at the moment but I'm glad that I will have room to grow into it. Part 1: th-ca...
Miter Saw Station | Part 1: The Base
มุมมอง 4872 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video, I build my DREAM Miter Saw Station after many years of hauling my miter saw outside any time I wanted to make a cut. This miter saw station is going to turn this space into a proper workshop and give me so much additional storage! Because this was such a long build, I broke up the videos into 4 different segments. So this video is Part 1 and will cover building all of the cabinet...

I was told that a curve that profiles an end is cupping.
Thank you for this video! I have the same router and just got my circle cutter jig. I couldn't follow the instruction manual but your video made it all clear. What is your experience like using this router?
Simple, effective, I like it. Curious though: what's the risk of kickbacks? Or is that why you have to have the fence at the distance from the saw as the width of the jig?
As far as I’m aware it’s low risk of kickback because you are only cutting the material that’s hanging over the edge of the jig. That’s why it’s important to set your fence the same width as the jig itself.

Love it!
Great video! I appreciate that you left in the part where the router got away from you. Good reminder that no one is perfect.
The “perfectionist” in me was disappointed in myself with that mistake but the “realist” in me knew it was worth sharing. 😆
@@rustydogandco Could've routed it out with a straight bit ,glued in a piece and re done it I suppose but i'd of left it in too. thanks for sharing.

That turned out really nice! It hides the trash cans from the bear and looks much better than seeing the trash cans setting out. Hope it keeps that pesky bear out!
Thank you! I hope so too!! 🤞🏻
That’s got to be the shortest ratchet strap I’ve ever seen! Build looks great!
Haha you are right about that! 😂
Looks closer to bomb than bear proof 😅
Dual Purpose 😂
Another great video by rusty dog
Thank you!! 😊
Love that cedar look!
Given the lack of loads, wouldn't dowels have been easier for the joints? Can't argue with the result though, it looks good!
Dowels probably would have worked fine as well. There are usually many different ways to do the same thing in woodworking…unfortunately I often forget what they are. 😂
Beautiful! Is there a tutorial for how you made this?
Thank you! Unfortunately no there isn’t. I built this before I had a TH-cam channel. 🤦♀️

Awesome video! Really shows how much work goes in to a smaller piece
Thank you! Cheers! 🍻
Why do you stain all the parts before putting it together
I don’t normally but I was worried that it would be difficult to stain the inside with it being such a narrow table. It might not have been but it never hurts to be prepared for the worst haha. 😆
Great job staining your wood before you join! Looks great
Thanks 👍

NICE AND GOOD JOB. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
Thank you! 😊
FYI for any builders in NC, I had done this a couple months ago and used redhead sleeve anchors and failed inspection. I had to replace them with Simpson titen bolts.
Good to know! Thanks for sharing!
Love the before and after, that spray in liner really made a big visual difference!
I totally agree!
Bed liner, 150$, sweat equity, much more than you'd like. Result and striking if off the list: incalculable
Haha isn’t that the truth!
Great video! Thank you.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching. 😊
That tree was offering itself for a more fulfilling and worthy project
Are there insert for 1/4 bolts? Can't seem to find any
Yes they are common
That's going to be very satisfying to use. Nice job! Wished I had such a nice station. Actually I wish my brother would return my mitre saw 😅
😂😂
Certainly unique. I like it! 30:29
Thanks! 😊
The Rusty dog at 16:58 cracks me up, he doesn’t care if you’re filming, just fetch!
He’s got a one track mind. 🎾😂
Awesome reveal footage, really gives an idea of how large the workstation actually is! Really enjoyed following this build.
Thanks! 😊
That T-track system seems like a game changer. Should make repeatable cuts much easier
Definitely! It’s been a long time coming.

Every day is a pool day for the Rusty Dog! 😆
Love to see the workshop getting some dedicated space!
🔥🔥🔥
That looks like the 2500 😊
It's only 'cheap and easy' to build if you're a professional carpenter and have access to expensive tools.
I absolutely disagree. All you need is wood glue, wood, screws and pads. Iam using jigsaw for everything. Not expensive at all. If you gonna do more projects it will return extremely. Just borrow jigsaw from someone on one day. thats all. And if you have problem with cuttting angle use this guide without angles. th-cam.com/video/MsHw38LGfU4/w-d-xo.html
When displaying the flag of the United States of America with the stripes pointing downward, The Union, or the field of blue with stars, should be on the viewers' upper left and should NEVER touch anything below it, like the ground, water or merchandise. It should always have an opportunity to fly FREE and unfettered. 😊😊😊 ❤🇺🇸
Many of my fellow Americans have made me aware of the flag issue since posting this video. Rest assured…it has been fixed. 🇺🇸😊
