Hey Howard! I will be in Tybee later this summer. Can you recommend a spinning rod/reel combo that works well for surf fishing on Tybee?

I live in Stockbridge, GA. but I was born and grew up in Savannah. I love surf fishing maybe I'll come down to fish one day. My family lives in Florida now and I spend my vacation time with them and I do wet a line when I can.

We call em rock bass, actual name is Black Sea bass, good fighters and taste great!!

Do you ever run into any trout along the beach?

That is a juvenile black sea bass not mangrove snapper

What is biting on the north end of Tybee? What rigs and weights do you recommend?

The 2nd fish was a bluefish which are good eating when they are small. When they get above 5 or 6 lbs they get a little fishy, but they are fantastic game fish when they get big.

Very nice! With saltwater fishing variety is definitely the spice of life!

if you would use Squid from walmart.cut in quarter size baits you will catch much bigger fish!!!!
