Polar vortex? Not sure where you're at. Over here in northern utah, up until 2013, i never saw rain from the end of october to april or May. It has been raining here since last week. Finally getting snow. I also worked outdoors. Being stuck outside over night still causes death. But its no where near as cold as it was 10+ years ago.

What I've noticed is that the mainstream media hardly ever reports homeless deaths due to extreme cold, which gives the impression that it never happens but I know that's not the case. Based on your experience, what would you say is the average survival rate of the homeless population during the winter? How many make it through percentage-wise?

This is so right. I go into town 3 hrs walk away. Work in a welding shop...go to library..charge up phone and batteries..Read outdoor mags. ...then get couple supplies then go back to mountains . Check traps and then start fire .eat .then chill on phone than sleep Yes ..a regime keeps you sane. Love you brother. I'm 60 yrs old by the way. Been doing this for 12 years and I'm good with me❤❤❤

Get a PO box its 25 bucks a month i tried to say something on the live we all can help you out the box will pay for itself ten times fold get better stuff i could fill it send you sleeping bag tent blankets tarp cooking gear fire starters the list goes on make it public and it will be hard to keep it empty or give it all away try to get as big as you think you can it will be full i promise

if you didnt allready considered this, as i lived in a tent, i dug a hole in the shape of my tent, put some styrofoam i found in it and Build my tent on this Layer. It gives you a lot of insulation against the cold ground-Temperatures.
