AliExpress Zhou Shi Jun cracked carbon rims after only 100 miles
Ever wanted to buy a carbon wheelset of Aliexpress for your road bike. Here is my review of Zhou Shi Jun Store Carbon Wheelset.
After ~100miles of road riding, the rear wheel split.
I am 5'9" 170-lbs, and the wheel split under normal use.
Although I ordered them in May, they were not shipped to me until July 14, 2024. After receiving them, I set them up as they are allowed to be done: best practices, tubeless set up, with Orange Seal, and Continental GP5000 AS TR 700x32. Then, I rode on them, and they were pretty decent for the price. Faster than my old wheels, but, in less than 90-days of riding, by October 8th, 2024 - I looked down as I was preparing to ride to work and discovered the unthinkable. They had split, since my Sunday Oct 6th ride.
I conferred with the company Zhou Shi Jun, and they implied that it must've been a side impact. But, it was not. I was running 60-psi, which is stiff on a 700 x 32 tire preventing excessive localized impacts.
So, I present to you the actual video evidence.

Open the Vault (episode 3) finally some distorted old audio

In this episode, we finally uncover an old home audio recording with my voice from my childhood. This audio cassette tape is distorted but a little of the original sound from circa 1992 is still on there. I make a fleeting reference to wanting to style it like Wayne’s World. Then, it sounds like we’re playing a co-op Nintendo game, although I couldn’t quite figure out which one.

Can't even be bothered about chinese wheels, I rather go for some lower cost reputable alu wheels.
I ended up buying a used set of DT Swiss C1850 Spline wheels, they were $170, solid aluminum. They required some love to get going again, but, hey, at least they won't explode on me while I'm riding down a hill at 40mph.
What's your weight + bike ( for context )
Totally, right now, I'm about 170lbs (77kgs), and the bike is about 23lbs (10kgs). Total weight (rider and bike): 193lbs (87kgs).
@rdiddy787 oh dear.. I'm 110kg and another 10kg for my ALU bike means I have less chance than you at using those wheels without incident! 😢😨 Thank you for providing that valuable context 🏆

I know right. I think the biggest disappointment was that I ordered them in May, they arrived in July, and my 90-day return (warranty window) ended in August, not October. So, they broke within 90-days of receiving them, but, they were out of warranty because of the roughly 2-months between ordering and arrival. That was the biggest kicker to me.
Which type dental stone was used to make the model?
I use SnapStone, which I usually order from Darby (it comes in a 35-lb bag,) it sets in about 5-7 minutes, but, I recommend that you give it closer to 7-minutes so that it is a little harder when you pull it to prevent fractured off incisals on the centrals. [sorry for the slow reply]
Just wandering what type of mold is that for the teeth? Greatly would be appreciated to know!!
The impression I'm using for in-office same day models - 1. impression with correctly sized tray - I use the Invisalign trays because they seem to fit really well with very few show-throughs. 2. Base material is Silginate, sets in 90-seconds (for retainers, bleach trays single phase only - meaning: only the Silginate, sometimes if there is a tiny edge of exposed tooth past the edge of material and I identify this early enough, I will add some material using a Monoject syringe with the tip 1/2 cut off, and add a little bit, with the tray still in.) 3. If I need to do the impression as a two-phase, I will add a little bit of Panasil X-Light, but, I only do this for Invisalign cases, where the stakes for accuracy are higher, when I add this then, it is a 3minute 30seconds set time. which way does the biocryl material face so you know it is not backwards or wrong way around?
On this demo, the sheet is interchangeable. But, there is a hard soft material that I use with my newer unit that the soft side should be facing toward the model.
Hi Russell , can you charging it while on activity (run) ?
I don't have it anymore, but, no, the only way to charge it is to connect it to the proprietary USB dongle that comes with it.
