The Chinese version of All Souls' Day (清明) is over but I still miss my mother. Hardly a day goes by that I do not think about her. Whenever I go into the kitchen to wash up, whenever I enter a restaurant where I see dishes cooked the way she does, memories of her would come to mind.

I was just a kid and she was a teenager then, so I grew up seeing her in the local dailies and mags, sometimes on TV. Her voice was on the radio everywhere I went, on neighbours' extra loud gramophone players and shops' record players all the time. She passed away on May 8th, 1995. So you are visiting her grave on the 30th anniversary. Thank you and best regards. ❤🙏
