HOW I MOW WITH MY CRAFTSMAN M320
มุมมอง 20K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Here’s a video on how I mow with my craftsman M320 which is a self propelled 163cc mower. I would rate this mower a 10/10. I have had it for about 4 months, and it’s lightweight and leaves a clean cut. The cost of the lawnmower is not $600 (as stated in the video) it is actually $369 at Lowe’s which is where it was purchased.

    TIPS from this master mechanic.. How to start cold? place on full choke, then push primer bulb until gasoline is in the bulb, then push the bulb 6 times. Do not squeeze the trigger, that is nonsense, but simply crank and once it starts place on half choke and after 10 seconds push choke open. The right way to start them is with the tank laying flat on the ground and to cup your hand around the spark plug boot. Always place a trimmer on the ground to crank it, this way the rope doesnt pull from an angle or several angles, but pulls up straight. I lay all of my trimmer down and get on my knees and crank them, that way you are not fighting force from pushing the head back as well as pulling the rope in mid air level. When they are hard to start change your spark plug. Any automotive parts store sells these spark plugs, but you have to ask for the power sport plugs (thats how they are listed in their computers)

    i do not recommend pinning the throttle when you start it cold or warm. not good for the engine at all. especially while the choke is on. The weed eater can also take up to around 8 ft in each side of the head. 6 inches will run out in no time.

    whats your opinion on that washer connection on your mower? Do you hook your hose up and clean it out with that often? Or is it easy/more efficient to just tilt it and spray from underneath? I honestly don't clean mine much. But probably should. I use a similar echo trimmer 3+years now, Ive done entire yards with it when my mowers broke before, commercial properties, all kinds of plants and its still running perfectly. I highly recommend them, I recently bought a curved shaft echo that also works great. ive used an echo blower for going on 3 years now - no problems , but burned out a toro gas blower and an electric plug in one in that same time. So echos are a good name to trust, stihls (which ive used here and there) are suppose to be the step up from echo. But with most of my experience in echos, I personally like the feel of them more, maybe stihl has a little more power, but it seems unnecessary for mostly residential cutting

      Uncle Doogan’s Doin’ Reviews Honestly I haven’t washed mine yet and I’ve had it for quite a while now lol. I should probably clean it soon. I’ll let you know what I think I might make a video on it. I love the echo string trimmer it’s been good to me so far. I’ve tried the curved shaft but for me it’s harder to edge with it due to it being curved. I have the echo string trimmer for now but I definitely plan on having more echo lawn equipment soon.

    I have one of these and at first it was great but after just one season it became trouble. If you push these mowers into a tall patch of grass and stall it to a stop it tends to throw the valve train out of time some and then it gets hard to start. If you require a rugged mower to mow in less than ideal perfect lawn conditions this is not the mower to get. I have always had better luck with basic push lawnmowers with the smaller uncomplicated valve train.

    Good video, I learned a few things.....why not to use for an edger, though?

    • @CristianDIY408
      @CristianDIY408 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Capt 4242 Yes you can use an edger as well it’ll leave a deeper, cleaner edge in your lawn. Usually when I use an edger the next time I cut a lawn the edge will still be present so I’ll use a string trimmer to clean it up.

    Why did you only insert 6 inches of trimmer line? How much can it hold?

    • @nealrose8653
      @nealrose8653 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hes using the "fixed line" option. There's another option where you need 2 pieces of line, 6 foot in length. You line up a mark on the bump head with a mark on the bottom of the trimmer. Insert each line into the hole until it clicks (may not be audible, but you'll feel when it's locked in) when both, 6 foot pieces of line are locked in, begin turning the bump head clockwise (the only way it'll go) when you begin turning the bump head, new line will begin winding on the spool inside the trimmer head. That sounds WAY more complicated than it actually is. Loading line on a newer model craftsman string trimmer is really easy. Makes me not dread dealing with trimming my property. 🤣

    The frantic nature of the sped up video makes it damn near impossible to see how you use it. I wanted to see the pace control lever system because people in reviews are complaining about it but this doesn't really help much.
