I like this! How many times has The Doctor stumbled into what would look like the climax of the story to anyone who's been watching it from it's start and not just when The Doctor shows up? I think this is the first time we've followed a Doctor Who story from the perspective of the locals until the Doctor shows up.

Nerd trivia: this is the ONLY appearance of the Twelfth Doctor where he wears his navy coat from series 8/9 with the TM Lewin waistcoat - all other times this waistcoat is only ever worn with the burgundy velvet (Face the Raven, Heaven Sent etc) or the black velvet (The Return of Doctor Mysterio). I suspect had it occurred to the costume department to put Capaldi in this waistcoat right from the start, they never would've bothered with the cardigan we saw at the end of Deep Breath and in Into The Dalek - especially considering we literally never saw it again after that. I think he looks excellent. Capaldi's Doctor's costumes are my favourite by far. They just look so perfect on him! (SUPER nerd trivia: I even have 1:1 tailor made replicas of the navy velvet and the linen coat made from the original fabrics, lining and even the original buttons)

I really liked this show. But for me it just didn't feel like it was a part of the doctor who universe, take away Peter in the first ep and that it was set at coal hill and it would just feel like any other sci-fi teen show. Other than that I'm annoyed it got cancelled left us on such a cliffhanger
