Trail Camera do's and don’ts for deer hunting
I knew I was going to fish for a living from being a youngster. I feel like it's part of my DNA.
That’s the million dollar question!
@@Foreverbowhunting and I answered it!😃
really good one!
@@RealWorldDeerHunter-tr3qv thank you sir!
Honestly... it was a rough season for me too, well the last 3-4 years in general with life and all hasn't been easy at all! I passed on a few smaller bucks as well, but I try to always remind myself... I simply bow hunt because I love it, and it gives me some peace away from all the chaos and pain life has dealt me with for a long time. But yeah, I feel you on having a rough season. Mine sucked lol no nice way to put it. I was blessed to take 2 nice size does, so the boys and I will be eating good. I feel like the other guy said, social media and all the hunting shows and podcast have put such a strain on hunting/hunters in general! And in all reality, a lot of them dudes come from big money and have huge private farms. Not everyone has that luxury! Either way, Hunting is what we love... and we know some seasons will suck! But just being out in the woods is therapy for me!
@@Foreverbowhunting nothing wrong with that man! I’m putting in the scouting these next few months to do my best to make sure this doesn’t happen again!
wish I had the same results
could be a workhorse for a lot of anglers
Absolutely.....
I broke my champ 763 c and decided to replace with the champ 744, can’t wait to throw it.
@@pdfahie you won’t be disappointed. I went to all dobyns rods before the 2023 season and don’t regret it one bit
@ I started switching my lineup from all bass pro rods and reels, some of them higher end bop to dobyns a few years ago. I originally tried a megabass Levante “perfect pitch” rod and I didn’t like it at all. The grip was way too thin and overall just didn’t like the feel. Decided to go with dobyns and almost exclusively champ xp. Love the cork handles and the overall feel.
I’m not a Dad, but I would think early season is much more suitable for young hunters. Less pressured game, better weather, better temperatures, etc. I’d support whatever legal hunting methods get kids out in the woods. There’s already enough gate keeping from the Fudds against any changes that give more opportunity (Saturday opener, Sunday hunting, DMAP tags). There doesn’t need to be any additional gate keeping. I’ve mostly used a crossbow the past 3 seasons as an adult. Some people talk crap, but I don’t really care. My old compound is at the point where im only comfortable shooting animals at 20 yards or less, and I already have too many outdoor hobbies so don’t have $1k plus laying around for an upgrade.
@@MarkRambo1 amen I agree!
At the end of the day, most of us hunt to have fun, relax, and to maybe get some good meat. I think it’s really important to reevaluate things if or when it stops being fun. It doesn’t always have to be a grind. I’ve gone over 7 years not shooting a buck from passing smaller ones than what I was looking for, and I’ve had years like the last two where I got a buck and multiple doe. I feel like for most of us, hunting seasons ebb and flow in terms of success. Social media is definitely putting pressure on people to “grind it out,” have deer or turkey tours, and measure success by how many tags you fill.
I couldn't agree more!
good plan
U should do more videos scouting like those kind of videos
@@MitchellHarlan1 I plan on it! Unfortunately it’s gonna be another 2-3 weeks because public land backroads are a sheet of ice
@@dualthreatoutdoorsyeah tell me About it I’m in north central pa
@@MitchellHarlan1 yep, I am as well.
we all deal with it
sounds like a quality rod
It definitely is!
When my son started he could not pull the kid compound bow back for a few years, Xbow was not available to hunt with is the state of Illinois. He's been hunting successfully for 20 years now. At some point the State allowed Xbow hunting, by that time he had been hunting for several years with a kid compound. He is an avid hunter and enjoys it very much. Children need to be nurtured as they grow into hunting same as fishing... I imagine you had to put worms on your kids hooks as well as take fish off their hooks. Good Luck.
Nothing wrong with that at all, I just think it's ridiculous that some parents make willing and able kids wait to bow hunt, just because they don't want their kid using a crossbow.
I will add he uses the PSE kid compound for bow fishing...
Spot on brother!
you're right
Very true
Good video!
@@RealWorldDeerHunter-tr3qv thank you sir
You should try the Gloomis glx 853c JWR
Nope, G Loomis doesn't compare to Dobyns.
Love it man. That was an awesome and informative video. That looks like a beautiful piece of public too. And that buck is a dandy!
@@Foreverbowhunting yep he’s a giant. Easily went 130”+ this year. He was huge from stand
@@dualthreatoutdoors Oh I bet! I was just gonna ask you about cams in those areas, but you already answered it in the video. I’ll definitely be putting out more than one in certain areas.
Good points!
This was awkward
You think?!
Why was it awkward? It was just my opinion on the subject.
Sounds like a PC stance to me. I mean staff or don't staff but own it bro. Think you left out a bunch of cons. At the end of the day, rather you staff or not, you are still a customer and should be treated as such! Lack of leadership, good management of people and a solid customer service will kill any program and I feel when these things are lacking, this contributes to the overall quality of a brand...brands are only as good as these things and people internally pushing the products.
Brother, very fair points, I do not deny that. I didn't want to single out any brand in this video.....Nothing you said in this comment is wrong at all.
yup yup
truth
nice
don't forget the tube
Never!
spot on
They seem great, will look into getting a pair based on the review
I needed to hear this. Great tips and advice brother... I will definitely be dedicating more time to scouting and finding new areas for next fall. Awesome video man!
@@Foreverbowhunting good deal! My season ended yesterday so I’m all in for next year now
Nice video Eric!!!!
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
Good video man. Honestly, I couldn’t agree more! I feel the same way about Dan and them. I feel like the best hunters kill deer consistently on public land! I also have a smaller permission piece, and even with surrounding pressure… the deer can be a little tricky to hunt at times. I’ve noticed similar with a permission piece in the past as you did… I seen doe there no problem. But bucks not as often. In my opinion… public land hunting is tougher… not only because of pressure, because the deer are so educated and have so many escape routes as well. Either way, killing big bucks consistently is not an easy task. I do know since I got into hunting 6 years ago, it requires a tremendous amount of time! So as a father and full time employee… that’s a challenge too. Good stuff man. You explained it well too… nothing fancy, just right to the point!
Thanks man I appreciate it!
Did you have any issues connecting it ? I have a fusion X out in my field but this reactor the third led light is red and says it can’t connect to my account. Any help is appreciated
@@Theofficial_an might be outdated. Since this video stealth has discontinued the reactors for deceptors
Oh yea
Nice
Very nice! My son and i were just there with no luck. What did you catch him on?
@@davegoodwin1848 that came on a drop shot
@@dualthreatoutdoors thanks, we were using shad swim baits. Wasn't working for us lol. I think we're heading back this weekend.

Soft plastic
Have the DC 734 Sierra 703 spinning Kaden 735CB and 713
I broke my St Croix Premiere 6" light action last year. St Croix honored their warranty but I took store credit and upgraded to a medium action Avid series. Thinking of buying this one to replace my light action.
Great set of 6. I’d include a couple of the same ones in my tops Dx744 Dc735 Dc734 Sa733 Dc732sf The 6th rod would be harder to pick lol. Could be any of these STP670sf, Sa702/703sf, Fr705cb, Sa683, Sa704, Kd713/714/715.
Good picks! I love my DX744! Stay tuned my “if I could pick 3 dobyns rod video is coming up soon”
Good stuff
If your into bow hunting scentlok is a game changer but you have to do the whole system including a scentlok pack because your backpack is just a human scentwick my old pack stinks like mildew and sweat from early season hunts this scentlok pack don't stick at all man
Yes sir! I wear the complete Scentlok system; it’s a game changer
Would you be able to carry sticks on the sides easily? Can’t find anything about it anywhere.
There aren’t any straps on the sides for sticks and such, but potentially you could with a bungee chord? You could on the new Grinder pack though
Could you not use the straps on the side for the front pouch on sticks?
@@levelair004maybe, but I’ve honestly never tried
Thanks for the review of the Lite pack! It seems to be really nice! Keep up the good work! Happy New Year's to you and the family!!!
Well I have analysed Your youtube Channel and realised that your videos aren't getting enough exposure. I have also watched some of your videos and loved it. I think videos like those should get more views.
Why is the most expensive nok still pushing in and out to where inside shaft wears out and gets loose..cheap nocks use a switch on the side and works great...i paid $15 a dozen and really like them
You probably sanded the nock down too much if it’s that loose or bought too small of a size
Great insight
Digging the beard
Sweet bow
first video that shows me how the quiver goes on and off.
I fished it for 5 days. While being in town for the LLWS 23. Each day id hit another spot. Just following 87 N. I will say the the creek has a crazy amount of inspects and bugs. So for the 5 days I fished. I didnt see ONE FISH period. Idk mayne wronf time of year? I did see alot of delayed harvest signs. Gratz on that catch.
Yes time of the year is huge; April-June is definitely the prime time to trout fish. That being said august presents some great opportunities for smallmouth bass on the sock.
