And yet Christ Himself says, "If you love me, keep my commandments." Therefore, while you have an excellent and very important point here, it's dangerously incomplete. Obedience to God is NOT the way to salvation, lest anyone should boast, having done the work of salvation himself, but rather, obedience is the RESULT of being saved. Martin Luther struggled with this, centuries ago, and came to that conclusion. It is the Biblical conclusion! For if we have salvation, through Christ alone, from the punishment for sin, then surely we hate sin and wish to sin no more: to be free from sin, sin having caused the world to be cursed, caused Jesus Christ to die. And we should hate sin because it will have caused many others to die in the coming lake of fire; those who loved sin more than Christ, including those who love sin and use Christ as an excuse to continue living in sin (God forbid!). This is where the Catholic practice of selling indulgences comes from. The system is accepted only because some people believe they can be saved while living in deliberate, pre-meditated sin. And the Church magisterium promotes that deadly belief, in spite of the Bible being crystal clear against it.

More prot lies. The Catholic Church has taught and believed for 2,000 years that Christ’s once and for all sacrifice is complete and all sufficient. Purgatory doesn’t in any way negate that belief. Learn something before spouting off.

The relative cliques, familiar friend cliques and important folks over those of us who don't have worldly means to impress made fellowship quite challenging. Utmost gratitude for the preaching at Faith FPC. Thank You Lord for this sermon, for Pastor Armen's faithful preaching, generous charity of Faith FPC. LORD cause me to extend fellowship to those who may be alone in their circumstances.
