Randall Warhead review: Is it any good?
มุมมอง 3.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I test out the randall warhead combo amp
sick, good test good vid good riffin
Awesome Dude... Im a Crate Lover too. Ive been rockin the Blue VooDoo 120 original w 6L6 tubes thru my OG Headrush and the 2000 Watt FRFR cab to the left...Sounds Stupid Dumb. Trust Me. Great Vid Brotha.
that slays. I had a g60xl as my first amp!
I like the fizz/ chorus too.im trying to get one ,a G600xl.i like Cannibal Corpse. Dying Fetus ,etc I think it sounds awesome
Thing sounds wicked I'm running death metal fizz with Randall diavlo on left and orange Micro Dark on right and my pedal platform is tube screamer no Gain into Blacktruck multiple effects pedal platform and it's got eq and gates ya know but I dig your style
Too this day I still prefer the cheaper 412 cabs they made early 2000s input Jack always breaks but it's part of the price difference 😂
Very cool I don't mic them out but I love Crate Gfx Ive had the chorus Combo Many 1200 head's and wishing I did video before selling thanks for doing it
I blab before I finished the video My bad but good Job
quick question, when i am trying to boost the dirty channel with a boss me-80(multi-effects unit) for some reason the dirty channel has no gain at all, could that be due to the multi effects pedal itself messing with the randall or something, cuz ive seen people boosting dirty channels with single pedals, but not multi effects processors hmmm, anyway i use the boss me80 in the loop so im pretty happy with the way it sounds, a monster of an amp, i love it
Horrible playing 👏🏻👏🏻
Will this setup work with an rg1503?
Dude, “RANDALL” amps ONLY play Pantera! I’ve had this amp awhile and nobody told me it had a clean channel! Anyway, clean tones are for little girls! On with my show! -Maynard#🎸💣💥🔥#Lol😂
Do you think it is loud enough for rehearsal and small venue gigs?
Hell yes
It’s really really loud and I like mine a lot
I just got my hands on one of these, and all I gotta say is. Holy shit! Great metal amp.. and the cleans aren't bad either.
How do you like this amp after having it for a couple yrs now? Any major complaints with it?
So i got one of these with the footswitch and in an artificial snakeskin cover, the one thing I didn't know about this amp took me yearly 20 years to figure out it even existed (I've owned it now over 25 years now) its maybe the coolest hidden feature of this amp.... it has a TREBLE PULL SWITCH! from the actually manual... " Pulling the treble Knob out adds clipping diodes to the circuit and acts somewhat like a compressor to the #2 channel only. The overall volume will drop which can partially be recovered by increasing the Master however, only a portion of the rated power output can be obtained when operated in this manner. This mode of operation provides "INFINTE" sustain and is especially effective for lowered volume operation as in studio or home practical use. So get this Dimebag would use this in the studio with that feature to get MASSIVE sustain on his solos. pull that knob and watch your jaw hit the ground, i swear i owned this thing nearly 20 years without a manual before I found this out, mind blown. Enjoy it!!!!
"Yea, so this amp is a very good sounding amp". Agreed lol. Chunky.
I used to own one of these. It had a very early Def Leppard sound to it. I don't tune down as I think things sound better when guitars are tuned to standard tuning.
If you’ll put a back plate on it, it will get a lot lower tones out of it brother
I love this amp, but mines messed up, Soon as I plug a cable in it starts humming really bad and has light squill. Idk what’s happened.
Check the ground pin on the plug
@@buzz4532 I figured it out way back when. It was the house I was at. The wiring was not right or something. Anywhere else it don’t do it. Don’t wasn’t the amp
Do you have Facebook? I’d like to chat
7:54 getcha pull
Good clarity too tbh
Sweet guide man I have this amp but the highs/gain aren't what I expected just plugging straight in... this vid oughta help haha glad I didn't hock the thang
Dude 🤘 I like it!! What guitar is that you have and what pickups are in it????!!??
It's called the Dean from hell the shape is an ML, the bridge pickup is a dimebucker, neck is a 59
4:20 4:56 5:09 5:25 9:07
if you feed those amps well ... with a ton of boost i mean they sound INSANE and just massive especially with that HUGE low end
No,it's not. Get an X2 or a C200. The X2 is Dime in a box.
X2 is one trick pony, you can't do anything other than Dime sound. Original Warhead is overcomplicated, yes, but you can do wider range of sounds unlike X2. I would love to own X2 but it's just impractical to pay over 1000 Euros for one single thing for me personally.
Nailed it
holy...that sounds so beastly!
That’s a great li’l amp! My buddy had one in the 80’s & it was a great amp, even in a small venue
I would love to trade my laney ironheart 120 for this randall rg80es
That sounds great man! Was able to get one of these for $100 bucks a few years back, made a mistake and sold it. Sounds gnarly, great demonstration of how tight this amp can sound
I like it!
Bad mama JAMA bro ham
Your sound is very good but you have to also use a noise gate pedal !
Sounds good!
The war head 2 and peavey XXL are best solid states metal amps and the Randall's are great rock amp
I prefer the Dime D100. It's just a clone of the randall Dime used for ages. It doesn't get super overdriven without some added eq or an overdrive pedal but it's true to the original amp design.
@@totalbullion5882 I got my dime head at music farm it was faulty
These heads sound way better with jaguar Randall original speakers ..
Iv had .. ok alone but u need blue mxr or new mxr 6 bank silver ...u got screamer ....prolly add sum mids u scoop out with Furman pq3.....dime said he had Grady tighten tone up with mid frequencys from furman...the mxr flanger is key to ..
Have you read the instruction manual? It’s really a single channel amp, allowing you to mix the channels, lts a solid state bassman basically. Even with the foot switch the channels still bleed over into each other, I own several Randall’s even my RG100HT bleeds over. I love the RG80’s they have more gain than the RG100ES.
Yes sir 80es does sound like it has more gain....lynch and a few others used 80es over 100es and tube
@@zipchtkdn7804 I have an RG80 SC that has a sick amount of gain, it compares to a 5150. For solid state amps, no 2 Randall’s sound the same.
@@donsmith5385 nothing compares to a 5150, def not that
Over and over I tell myself I've got to get one of these now I know why I don't it sucks
Hey guys I didn’t realize until now that the audio cut out around 5:44 but i hope you enjoy the video anyways! Also another correction from the video - the cab has Celestion g12h speakers not greenbacks.
Got the same amp, do you have a considerable amount of hum that amplifies as soon as you start going up with gain on distortion channel?
The amp hums when it’s on no matter what for me but I’m pretty sure that’s normal. When I turn up the gain it gets more noisy but there isn’t any more hum
@@maynardsmusicroom3981 figured out myself that the amp ain't broken, it's just the way it is. I bought Stone Deaf Noise Reaper noise gate and now it's dead silent.
dude on mine i got a crazy pedal setup, with a 462 maximizer in the loop, that thing really gives the bass a boost, but i sometimes have issues getting a solo sound, as far as my crunch, its unbelievable this is by far the best amp i have ever owned witha cool pedal setup man
Is it still available for sale
Edited - not anymore! Sorry
Freaking sick!
Dude that thing rips!
