My main dislike of my 22 Springfield is the stock seat. I've tried Ultimate and Corbin (I've owned two previous Corbins that I loved) but neither have felt great. The stock seat position, I love, but my bum hurts after 30 minutes.

Good review. I did a review on my Springfield but I have the "chrome" rather than the dark horse.

Im loving Indians. I too love all black bikes. I wish the bags were stretched like the HD specials of old w/ the cutouts around the exhaust. I will likely get the Scout for my first bike. Bobber or sport is the question….probably sport😊

I had a 2016 Indian Chief and one of my biggest complaints was the heat, even with a stage 1 and an aftermarket tune.

Do burleigh also make handlebars for the springfield? If so I really could imagine myself trading in my scout for a 21 springfield dh I just couldn't agree with the skinny bars that was my only reason not to get one

Fully agree on the bars. Good eye ! As for the cams, something to consider is a cam will require that you ride higher in the rpm and these engines like to vibrate more when you do that. So while you do net a few more horsepowers, it might not be worth it if you ride more relaxed and like lower rpm’s.

Thanks for the review, I am looking at getting an Indian Chief. I think scraping the foot boards is something of rite of passage for all people who are moving to cruisers from more sporty bikes... That's how is was for me anyway. Quick question. How is your bike for riding two up in terms of comfort for the pillion? BTW FYI here in Europe quite a few people I know are making their pipes quieter to avoid fines when riding through some central European countries.

Do you not think the back brake pedal is to small for the size of the bike? I own a Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse and with my big feet with boots on I struggle on that back brake and I need it due to the weight of the bike. I totally agree about the lack of after market parts that are as rare as rockin' "dark" horse shit here in the U.K.

I ride a 04 Honda vtx 1800 and that motor sounds great to me lol. Obviously older bike yes but mine groans and creaks and vibrates but starts every time so...whatever. Also mine is a $4,000 ride so I can't complain too much i guess

Indian doesnt do after market because of the exact reason you said. They want genuine parts and not an oversaturated, convoluted after market. Thats a beautiful bike. Im sure you could trade it on Harley, nc thats what it sounds like tou may be suited to lol

How tall are you? I'm just over 2 meters tall and while my last bike, a 2015 Victory Cross country tourer fit me like a glove It was just not what I wanted. I really like the looks of the Dark Horse Springfield and have been working on getting over the Polaris Betrayal of those of us that owned Victory's. What I can tell you is that Polaris V twin motors tend to be noisy but the maintenance is simple if you know how to turn a wrench and they are very reliable.

Nice bike, I'm looking at a second hand chieftain in the same colour, I think the colour is awesome.

My only complaints are the stock seat sucks, and the throttle response could be better. I noticed all Indians have throttle by wire and there’s a bit of lag. Its noticeable to me coming from a suzuki with cable throttle. It’s a cruiser, not meant to be a race bike though.

It’s simple. Indian is Apple, Harley is Android. Do with that what you will.

More comfortable seat, better suspension, better handling, better weight distribution for basically the same price as a Harley at least that's the case for the Challenger vs Road glide.

Hey dude it's a Springfield, the speedo is old school, how many fucking times are you looking at the bullshit your going on about? Fuel gauge are you moving when you look at the empty gauge? Well then it's fine, your a wanker buy a Honda or old kawasaki.

I owned two Harley-Davidson (Street Glide Special | Sportster Super Low) and two Indians (my last one being a 2023 Springfield 111). In my case, I do not put emphasis on social elements, aftermarket parts, fairing, infotainment, number of dealers around me etc. The Indian is the one that puts a smile on my face, very comfortable and I like the aesthetics. 4 or 4.5 inch slip ons? I only ask because one dealership that I spoke to said that the 4.5" have a louder/deeper sound. Thanks for the help.
