Really nice 👍. I have an angel.flat mould I am making ornaments as 6 or 12 pieces. Not sure about price yet…😊
This paper just proves no one has a perfect ass 🫏
This resin seems to be more of a problem than a help. First time using resin with new IOD mold, surprised the problems she had, it did not occur with the product I used. Delighted with how mine turned out, especially for a novice!
Yes, this resin is very high viscosity so definitely needs a bit more attention.
Those are amazing. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks. Just my 1 cent
Thank you!
😊❤ love your tutorial. You don't talk too fast you explain everything very clearly. You give great tips and your work is fantastic I'd love to know where you get all your molds. Here's just one of the best tutorials I have seen on resin in quite a while
Thank you Kathy! You can find all the different moulds here... sentimentalsalvage.ca/collections/iod-decor-moulds I ship throughout North America. For links to the specific moulds I used in this video.... check the description just below the video - I always put links to the products used in there 🥰🥰
Where did you get your you are molds?
Check your other comment - if you have any questions... let me know 🥰
Wow I just learnt a whole bunch of new things, thank you ❤ I’m a newbie to resin lol 🫶🏻❤️🇦🇺
Thanks for watching! Just make sure you read and follow the directions on your specific resin brand and you’ll do fine. The most important thing is to have fun! ❤
Thank you for sharing .......I love how it turned out and your instructions are sooooooo understandable. Can't wait to try it.
You are so welcome! ❤
Wow! I absolutely love the way this turned out!!
Thank you! It was truly a happy accident!
I love fine line crackle. Haven't seen it done with clear glue before. So lovely.
Me too! My clear glue crackle discovery is going to lead to a whole new adventure in antiquing!!
What is used to apply the clear coat to the casted shapes please.
I’ve used both a brush on gloss coat (Polycrylic) and a spray on (Rustoleum clear gloss). Any water-based brand will work. 😊
@@SentimentalSalvage thank-you.
Thank you for this video; that was very helpful. Do you think eventually at the under cured mold with the ripples, will eventually harden? I like the look of that one as well!
You're very welcome! I'm not sure - I don't think so because it's been a couple weeks already since I poured that one. I do know that if it's just a matter of your room being to cold for the resin to set in it's normal time-frame, it will eventually harden up from being a little flexible. But, if not mixed thoroughly enough, I don't think it ever will.
Excellent tutorial, much thanks. 👏👏👏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
This resin is available in the US. I’ve purchased it and love it.💜💜💜
That’s awesome!
thanks for the awesome tips when you say clear coat are your talking gloss or something else?
Yes a clear gloss. I’ve used a brush on gloss coat (Polycrylic) and a spray on (Rustoleum clear gloss). Any water-based brand will work. 😊
@@SentimentalSalvage thank you much appreciated have an awesome day
Hi 👋 I found your videos today & have learnt something from each of the 3 that I watched so far. Funny enough I made conservatory clay labels (30 for kitchen hutchdresser drawers) last night & wish I'd seen this video then. Thank you, great video 🌻😊
Hi! I'm glad to hear this! ❤ That's a lot of labels! 😳
What is the clear coat you speak of? Thanks so much Melissa, this has been a huge help to me. Thanks so much
You’re so welcome ❤. I’ve used a brush on gloss coat (Polycrylic) and a spray on (Rustoleum clear gloss). Any water-based brand will work. 😊
New to your channel, and happy I found you......I'm clear casting tomorrow....can't wait.
Welcome! ❤
Excellent video. Thankyou 🌻
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for the alcohol tip. I had a really hard time with the bubbles on my tapers
Ugh I did too! Specifically the Angelic Tapers 😖 The alcohol was a game changer!!
Bonjour, merci pour votre partage. Pouvez-vous me dire quel vernis vous utilisez pour que les cloches et boules soit transparentes ? Merci d’avance
This is what I use… Rustoleum Clear Gloss amzn.to/3YFlqXW
Great tips. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Please do not use 70% alcohol. 91% is the minimum as 70% has too much water and can affect the resin. Also, MIST alcohol, not spritz. Finally, using a torch instead of long neck lighter can irreparably damage the mold (the IOD sisters specifically called that out as one of the issues for mold damage). Keep in mind, the resin companies are giving instructions for silicone molds made for epoxy resin. The molds made by IOD are different. Best bet is to use a light coat of mold release, first. Finally! WEAR A RESPIRATOR!! "Non toxic" does not mean that when mixed, it cannot cause respiratory issues (breathe much?). Please go to Steve McDonald arts and crafts channel for good instructions for resin
I appreciate your concerns - as with all my videos, this one explains my experiences only. Your technique (and products) may be different giving you different results. Using the torch I used worked perfectly when used correctly, if not used correctly it causes problems - something I learned by doing it incorrectly once (which I explained in the video). I haven't found a mould release to be necessary when all the other things are done correctly - I did multiple castings using different moulds. Maybe after dozens or even hundreds of castings, the silicone will start to develop micro - tears making a release agent necessary but it hasn't been a problem so far. The 70% alcohol worked wonderfully with the resin I am using - it may not with another brand, it may not even be ideal for this brand - but it worked. The castings are perfectly cured. Spritz and mist are words I used interchangeably so I apologize if it caused confusion (I also used the word 'displacement' numerous times when I meant 'surface tension' so again, my apologies). My dollar store "squirt bottle" kind of does both but it did what I wanted it to do so I'm not concerned. I am wearing gloves and am well ventilated - you just can't see my face in this video. I love IOD moulds and I will always test them to their limits. That's the best way I know how to be able to help my customers and followers with any problems they are experiencing - but again, these are my experiences. All I can do is record and share those experiences in order to help someone out with theirs. 🥰
@johnenepapenfus I agree with your warning. I’d much rather get info from the IOD group itself. (Sorry, Melissa)
@@Jade_902everyone is free to do whatever they want. This works for me. Happy crafting!
Everyone has their tips and tricks. No set standard. I follow several resin artists and mod for them as well. 91 is available on the shelf with the 70% but make sure you’re wearing gloves as the percentage goes up so does the toxicity. Most of these methods work fine. IOD moulds are very thick and less affected by the heat. But you can use a lighter or alcohol. Find a method that works for you
@@SentimentalSalvageI could only get the 64-70% alcohol & my results are nice.
Thank you for the tip about spritzing alcohol in the mould-I can’t wait to try it! Also, Amazon does carry the clear art and craft resin in your brand and it’s a comparable price to other brands. Again, great, comprehensive tutorial. Happy Holidays!
You're welcome! It worked perfectly! I wasn't sure if this resin was available in the US - you always have so many options!
Thanks for the alcohol tip. Will try that
Very nice! All your changes really worked❤
I think so! I really like how this turned out 🥰
Thanks. That was very helpful
You're welcome!!
Melissa!! This was SO very helpful, thank you so much. I've got the molds and the product but have been hesitant to even open the box. I didn't know any of this and it's unlikely I would have read the instructions in any detail. Keeping a room at 24C for 24-hrs. might be the biggest challenge, though.
You're so welcome! I agree thoroughly with the 24º thing... this is not comfortable for someone of my age 🤣
@@SentimentalSalvage 🔥Whew … I know. You start to believe in spontaneous human combustion .

Great tips on the clear resin. Thanks! I can't wait to see what you do with all of your casts.
Thank you! ❤
Thanks so much . I haven’t did my yet . Will soon.
You're welcome! Let me know if you have any questions!
Where did the decoupage paper come from?
The two papers used in this project are by Roycycled Treasures. Corrugated Metal... sentimentalsalvage.ca/collections/roycycled-decoupage-papers/products/new-corrugated-metal-roycycled-decoupage-paper and Baby Animals... sentimentalsalvage.ca/collections/roycycled-decoupage-papers/products/new-baby-animals-roycycled-decoupage-paper They're both available through my website and I ship across North America.

Oh i am so going to try this. That is just beautiful. It's probably the prettiest one I've seen diy.😊
Awe 🥰 Thank you so much! Let me know if you have any questions!
I just found your channel and I'm so happy I did! It's so beautiful and beautifully done! I really like the glue crackle! I will definitely be trying! Thank you for sharing!❤️
Welcome to my channel Betty!! I hope you find inspiration. Ask away if you have any questions!
What will you do with the finished piece?
Hi Robin! I haven’t decided yet 🤔
😍❤️😍
😍❤️😍
Do you think the glue will yellow with age?
I can’t say for sure. It’s water based so I’d guess it will stay clear but only time will tell.
I think its gorgeous!💜
Absolutely gorgeous
That is so pretty! I ❤ it!! How tall and wide is the cloche? Do you have that mould in stock? What kind of resin did you use?
Hi Cindy! There are three cloches on this mould. Each one being about 5.5” tall and approximately 3.5” wide. I used Magic Resin - the link is in the description if you want to look into it further. I should have this mould back in stock later next week 🤞🏻
