LET'S MAKE A FIBERGLASS MOLD! | Frustum Build | Parametric Modeling in Fusion
In this tutorial, we'll dive into the key advantages of using parametric modeling in Fusion 360 compared to the manual, brute force approach in SketchUp. If you're still stuck doing repetitive edits or struggling with design changes in SketchUp, this video is for you! Parametric modeling saves time and allows for much more flexibility as your design evolves. I'll go step-by-step through our example Frustum Pattern for our Fiberglass Mold Making Project to show you why Fusion 360 is the smarter choice for professional-grade projects.

    I just use 2 paper cups. When you are done, the wet cup slides right out of the dry cup. Give the wet cup a slight squeeze and the top pops right off. The dry cup can be reused. No need to blow air and possibly gelcoat all over the place.

    How do you use this gun without it dripping out of the nozzle?

    • @fortheartisan
      @fortheartisan 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Gannon, thanks for watching and for the question. You'll want to hold it upright (nozzle pointed straight up) like a "briefcase" and then get used to pulling the trigger and rolling the gun in one motion. When done, do the opposite. See here at 445 for an example: th-cam.com/video/ycoULuw9DqM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=s2EOlbH0QU--3O4j&t=286. I have another video coming out soon where I spray actual material using this technique (and a whole lot more). Hope this helps.

    I have been doing this for ~15 years now, I use the plastic tubs that are maybe twice as big, with the 2 flap lid, to keep out moisture and dust. Cool to see that you have the same idea, but we've never met (I didn't see it anywhere, came up with it independently)

    • @fortheartisan
      @fortheartisan ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man, appreciate the comment. With the whip being close to the tool, I never adjust the flow knob on the gun - I just leave it wide open and dial in the pressure with the regulator on the whip. This is actually the same for all my spray guns and what makes this so nice.

    Awesome video! Very helpful. One suggestion...not good to use silicone grease around GelCoat. It can cause fisheyes. Also, the solvent resistant o-rings used in this gun will deteriorate quickly if you use a petroleum based grease such as vasilene. Best to use liquid soap or some sort of synthetic grease. Never install o-rings dry. They cut easily.
