Clara Siewert: 🎨 The forgotten artist and her magical and mystical works 🌟
🚀 ++ No. 10 of our 100 female painter videos ++ 🎨📜
Have you ever heard of Clara Siewert? The German painter and graphic artist who stood in the shadow of the big names of the Berlin Secession, but whose symbolist works 🎭 provided deep insights into the female soul.
But how did she manage to work as an artist when women were often just muses? 🤔 Her art-loving family probably helped, enabling her to pursue an artistic education despite financial constraints. 🖌️

Who is Anabel and why did she need to obliterate her subject's probably outstanding work with her own (or some dumb producer's totally idiotic graphic treatment?
Hi, it's a shame you didn't like our videos. What in particular bothered you? Did we crop any of the artwork? If so, please send us the timestamp so we can take a look and improve. By the way, I'm Anabel and we make these videos through my company Draw my Business GmbH for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany to make women painters better known, as they are often overlooked.

Sehr gut kommentiert ich katollie euch,
Barely scratched the surface. What a shame about the robotic voiceover.
Too bad you didn't like our video. What information would have been important to you? We can improve with your help.
@@GreatArtistsExplainedbyAnabel There's a wealth of information on Wikipedia here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustave_Caillebotte. The thing I hated about your article was the voiceover. Could you get a human to voice next time.
Absolute classic. As famous as he was talented. Other than a script error at thr begining of the night watch, good video.
Thanks for the tip, I'll have a look at the error. A video on Berthe Morisot will be published next week.
The effect on impressionism is undeniable. Thank you for another great video.
Thank you very much for the great comment. The next video is also about an impressionist: GUSTAVE CAILLEBOTTE. I hope you like it.
Interesteing that someone called naive could go on to have such a huge impact on later artists. Thank you for another great video
I was also somewhat torn during my research. Is this art? But then I also found some of the works excellent.
Picasso and other extremely famous artists are so often known only for the work they made and not a people in their own right. Thank you for shining a light on the people behind the paintings.
I am very pleased to hear that the artists' lives are exciting. It's always difficult to pick out the most important things from an artist's long life, usually with many trips, for a short video. The next artist I would like to introduce is Guido Reni.
Truly timeless works. Inspirational. Thank you again.
What I particularly liked about his portraits was that he captured such incredibly friendly faces. This week I will be presenting Pablo Picasso next. I hope you enjoy the video.
you're pronouncing his name incorrectly,. The gli in Italian is a consonant and pronounced without the g
I had informed myself about the pronunciation beforehand and the g is barely audible... but if you listen carefully, I agree with you.
An intriguing style. It looks similar to cartoons to me. Thank you for another great video.
Somehow a sad style, but still unique. During the video production, I was carried away by the short life and especially by the tragic love story.
I dont enjoy roccoco archetecture and so have always ignore the paintings also. If this is indicitive of the era, I need to re-evaluate. Thank you for another great video.
The rococo period is already very playful, but there are also beautiful things to discover here. In this case, fashionable things, but also extensive depictions of the style of living at the time.
😊😊
Thank you very much for the friendly, smiling comment 😊
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you very much for the friendly, smiling comment 😊
Truly unique! Thank you for another peek into art history. Your videos are succinct and informative. Truly a pleasure.
Many Thanks. The hand puppets he designed for his son are also exciting .... th-cam.com/video/CT6DKK6Rwlk/w-d-xo.html Next week I will introduce Antoine Watteau.
More than classic, he is iconic. Thank you for another great video.
Thank you very much for the lovely comment. Botticelli's works are simply fantastic and there is always something wonderful to discover in the paintings. By the way, a video about Paul Klee will be released this week.
I wonder how many people are unaware of the artists in this series. This pioneer of his field is news to me. Thank you.
Interestingly, there are always older artists to discover - it becomes clear how many there are....and I haven't searched in many countries yet. There are still many videos to be produced ...
Somehow, this video slipped past me at first. "The Milkmaid" has always been an exemplary work in my opinion, but seeing "The Art of Painting" really displays Vermeer's incalculable talent. Thank you!
I was also very surprised by the work "The Art of Painting" but I also really like the colors of "Woman Reading a Letter" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woman_Reading_a_Letter_(Vermeer) By the way, the next video is about JAMES McNEILL WHISTLER.
Amazing! Thank you for introducing such a wonderful artist. Her works are beyond impressive.
Many thanks! When I created the video, I was totally thrilled too... and then she got so old in that time. But another female artist without children...
Several of these works were familiar to me but somehow I had never realized they are by the same person. Thank you for connecting the dots.
Thank you very much for your feedback! Once you see the connection between the works, a fascinating world of connections and influences opens up. Thank you again for your support and interest in art history! My next video is once again about a woman and I was also totally fascinated by her life and works when I made it: Sofonisba Anguissola
Too many artists never got the recognition they deserve in life. It is refreshing to hear of one who did. Thank you for this excellent video.
I agree wholeheartedly! It is indeed unfortunate that many talented artists never get the recognition they truly deserve. In the next video I present the very famous Titian.
Thanks ✨ Greetings from Romania 🌲❄️
Thank you very much for the lovely comment and best regards to Romania - it's great that my videos are seen all over the world, that's why there are subtitles in 37 languages :-)
Thank you for telling this compelling story.
Thank you very much for the comment. The interesting thing is why it was kept secret for so long, but we probably won't be able to find out...
Thank you for introducing a new favorite artist. Realism is, in my opinion the most impressive style. Wonderful video.
I'm really pleased that you liked the Vides. The realism really has an impressive effect, doesn't it? Thank you so much for your positive feedback, it means a lot to me! 😊
Cool Intro!
Classic! Thank you.
Fascinating. Raphael is always listed as one of the greatest but I have never known much about him. Thank you for the excellent video.
Thank you very much for the great comment. Once again, I learned a lot while making the video :-) It's always really exciting. Next week there will be a video on Gustave Courbet ... with some provocative works.
Makes sense
Thank you for introducing so many interesting artists. It is a joy to learn snapshots of art history.
His work is stunning.
Certainly! 🙂
Women so often have a more potent understanding of color and light. Art as a whole suffers for the long history of misogyny. Thank you for another great video!
Let's continue celebrating diverse voices and creativity in the art world! Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 🎨🌈
I am very glad the trend of "modern art" is so recent. The more traditional styles are more my speed. Thank you for another great video.
Thank you very much for the great comment. I also prefer the old masters. I also find the interpretations of old masterpieces by newer artists exciting. By the way, there will be a video about Mary Cassatt next week.
It always amazes me that there could be so many astounding artistic talents the Netherlands. I hardly ever think of that country but they deserve so much credit. Thank you for the excellent video.
Thank you very much for the great praise. Which country do you think of when you think of artists? Probably France, Italy ...? I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
So many blue horses! Thank you for introducing this artist.
That's right! The shapes and colors of the animals are really beautiful and unusual. By the way, the next video introduces Jan van Eyck and there will soon be additional videos on great masterpieces.
Its so interesting how many times we need to differentiate between the elder and younger with artists. Thank you for the video.
Thank you very much for the great comment. But sometimes it's really confusing who is who :-) Maybe we should make an artist family video one day. The Brüghel family would also be possible.
@@anabelderlam1466 Lol, no doubt. A family tree series would be a good idea.
Funny, I must have been logged in with my other account. By the way, the next video is about Franz Marc.
