Tolerance analysis - How to perform one

www.quicktol.com In this QuickTol video tutorial, you will learn how to construct the basic elements of a tolerance analysis.
One doubt is there, if we are going from the top of gap by using vector method the mean is coming as -.024. So is there strict rule like we need to start with bottom end of gap something like that??
13:21 i laughed out loud haha
Is this not available anywhere anymore?
Do you guys still make this tool for modern excel? Is there an equivalent?
Great Job on this example. I find it a good reference for my analysis. Vectors are a great way to visualize the assembly.
Nice vide! The Montecarlo simulation assumes a normal distribution of the individual tolerances?
I like this simple yet informative example. thank you.
Good stuff!
Thank you very much, you explained very well
Very east to follow and straight to the point! good job!
Is anybody able to download the tool from their website. Can't open the website
what about LMC condition ?
Can you give me software link.
It is a very useful to all designers. So thanks. where I can download this. Please send me a link. I am waiting for same
How do you define the direction of the arrows?
You pick your starting point and decide which direction you go to get to the other side of the gap. He mentioned that his assumption is always moving up and to the right are positive values and the opposite direction is negative.
Thank you very much for this information!
Guys am I f stupid? I can't do a tolerance analysis I get so confused can someone simplify ?
Sir what about the 4sigma and 6 sigma and why we are considering the sigma? Could you please explain this? And what is the USL, LSL and Cp, Cpk?
The sigma value has to do with process capability, or how good the manufacturer is at delivering parts within the specified tolerance range. This guide might help: www.fiveflute.com/guide/introduction-to-root-sum-squared-rss-tolerance-analysis
You might also find our tolerance calculator useful: www.fiveflute.com/tools/tolerances
Such a shame this add on is no where to be found... Great demo and method explanation.
I looked at the site and it says the domain is on sale. I want the add on. Please advise. Thanks.
you did not say anything about the results. Despite the fact that WC shows screws notching together by .022 and RSS is showing clearence .005. Wich results shoud i take for granted? thank you
Why sensitivity go 1 for all?
absolutely fantastic
share link of Excel File or Android app for it.
Excellent...just excellent.
Where to buy this? The website does not exist anymore
Very good video. Anyone know where I can download it?
very informative and simple to understand, thank you!
I wanted to buy this software but company does not exist anymore.
Very Useful Excel Presentation.
Nice presentation. It would be nice to have more examples with GD&T call outs like flatness and profile call outs of mating parts.
Nice presentation. If the B datum surface has flatness of 0.5, how you are going to input that in QuickTol spreadsheet?
maybe you can input 0.25±0.25 ,if the gap means a local size to the surface.
Wonderful.
Sir could you please share a presentation on radial stack analysis..Thank you..
vinay b m This video is in the works!
Great presentation...
vinay b m Thank you sir. Much appreciated.
Just found this and gave it a try. I use metric dimensioning and when I put a tolerance in that is over 1 it errors and locks up excel. For example: location of a hole with a true position tolerance of 1.5 Any Ideas?
Chris Leamon I do not believe you are getting the error because of the size of the tolerance, per so. I think you are encountering an error because the gap equation is empty. It still should not be locking up Excel, so we will be taking this up with the developers to add clarity to the error message and stop it from locking up the application. I will re-post when the fix has been implemented. In the meantime, remember to populate the gap equation.
Chris Leamon We have just implemented the fix. Please let us know if you are having issues.
Would you mind sharing where you downloaded the software? Could you send me a message with the link? Thank you!
