Thanks for the tip! It was running better when I started it up again after I got it home and seemed to run much cleaner. I've been doing an overhaul on the machine for the last year that I've been documenting and am currently getting it all painted up, so I should have a first start video coming in a few months. Will have to see if it does ol'smokey again

Came with the unit when it was bought. It has been since sold, and the owner put on much brighter LEDs. You local farm supply/ dealer should have what you need. Just keep an eye on lumens rating and colour of light

​@happyjohn8256 it's a good point. However, users are reporting generally pretty decent results. I won't be surprised it will become more and more commonplace as end users feel that historically trusted companies increasingly don't have their consumers backs. For example, loblaws, apple etc. In the chainsaw world, the mainstays of Stihl and Husqvarna are increasingly being left aside for 3rd best Echo and then Chinese. Personally, I rather buy once cry once, but can totally understand the balance of cost vs longevity. And as an aside the whole idea of Chinese is junk is no longer true. There are some really good work done in China and tons upon tons of unnecessary garbage. I'd rather not support them but that's very hard when everything comes from there..... even if it doesn't say China something likely was used from there. I don't want to support russia either but found out my tires were made in Russia by a supposedly Finish tire brand. Anyways, comments support the occasional farm boy!

Thankfully not! The Tire ended up being patched with silicone before I purchased it, and I guess that's where I decided to blow.

I haven't seen any specs about the play. On the forums, they said to just crank the end castle nut up hard and should be good. That's what I ended up doing. Otherwise, it'd have to be brought to a machine shop built up and the teeth re- ground. There are not a lot of options, really.

Hope you're having fun while at it. Can be a daunting task, but getting through it wasn't so bad.

What did you think of my cheater jb weld paste. Is there a better way or no alternative unless I'm better at welding/ fabricating

@@theoccasionalfarmboy I have used lead as a filler as well as brazing. When I made my centrifuge heater tank for recycling veggie oil I used epoxy to fill my weld holes. If it works it works!

Great Machines! Lots of power packed in the same footprint as a garden tractor

Building a 90 by 30 shed, and with the tree there it'd be right in the middle of the drive. Same with that 100' tree.

@@theoccasionalfarmboy 👍The later versions 6400/7300/7900 were manufactured in collaboration with Solo in Stuttgart with Solo‘s models having 1mm more stroke resulting in 665/675/681 all using the same chassis. When Sachs owned Dolmar they had a Wankel engine saw briefly, the model KMS4. The Solo Twin two cylinder chainsaws from the 60‘s are really neat and rare!

@kbittorf335 Yes, I haven't see a Wankle or the Twin setup in person, but those would have taken quite the collaboration and geniuses to make it compact yet usable. This is great!

This is akin to reving your motorbike in the driveway without your leathers. But I'd hope you wear your leathers and helmet on the road..... I'm not worried. la viva
