The story, featuring chronic UTI patient, Marilyn Clark-Murphy and Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) president, Professor Helen O'Connell AO, raises concern that prophylactic and short course antibiotic treatments may not adequately treat infections in some people. The under treatment of UTIs is becoming recognised as a possible contributor to AMR, but is rarely discussed.
