Genius. I am going to try this. I am not mechanically inclined and have tried everything on this cheap, old, round showerhead..... the wrench was useless! Now I know there are other tools. I'm buying everything right now and putting a prayer to the baby Jesus!

My shower head is super stuck on there!! I tried to use 2 pipe wrenches but the neck part is still moving! Can someone help me out? Maybe I didn’t do it correctly ..?

Thanks heaps! 👍 I have a different brand but similar design. I didn't think I'd be able to remove the restrictor without damaging the handset (I had no problem removing the restrictor from the actual shower head). I couldn't get a grip with the screw, so I drilled a tiny hole through the middle of the restrictor. I then screwed one of those screws into the new hole with a screwdriver and popped out the restrictor. Success 👌

Bless the commenter who suggested tapping on the base of the shower head nut like hitting the lid of a jar. It loosened things up. It was still a struggle since that shower head was on for over 10 years but it finally came off. 🙌

Thank you! The screw tip is exactly what I needed.

Putting the tape on counter-clockwise is absolutely wrong. When you apply the fitting ,any fitting that you turn clockwise will actually loosen the tape. Especially under any type of pressure you WILL HAVE A LEAK. MAYBE NOT AT FIRST BUT YOU WILL EVENTUALLY!!!!

Letting hot water run through the shower head for a minute or so worked better than anything else.

Same comments as John Bonnett - the tape info on the extension arm and wrapping the plumbers tape in the opposite direction was great info. Cleaning the threads & checking inside the extension where two points I never would have thought about. Thanks again for a great video.

good idea, I just followed using tape on slipped tap.

I think mine won’t budge because they wrapped so much Teflon tape between the head and arm.
