An amazing hymn written by Horatio Spafford in 1873 after he lost his precious four daughters when two ships collided in the Atlantic Ocean while the mother & children were sailing from America to England. This story was included in "Al Smith's Treasury of hymn histories" by Alfred B Smith" (book no longer in print but some people have been able to find a copy at rummage sales, etc.)

😢😢😢😢 The thoughts come rushing when I listen to this hymn, I sang it the day I felt it in my heart that it was the last day I saw my mother alive in that hospital bed. At night, I prayed to God to do His will, the following day at 04:30 got a call from the hospital that she has passed on around 03:55
the woman is the great granddaughter of the composer of the hymn [i believe his name was horatio spafford]; the man, whom i can't identify, was the person who somehow arranged for the three tenors to perform the hymn.
This song background has a very tragic historic, however it is always encouraged me to stand strong and sing It Is Well with My Soul. Praise Jesus The Lord.

This hymn is so powerful that it sends chills up my spine ... my husband is recovering from surgery for an aortic aneurysm and is doing miraculously well ... all I can say it is well with my soul , Praise the Lord, o my soul ....
