Giving a follow! You're giving me a good source of ideas and in a similar style that i liked in my first hobonochi. For paint washes with text, do you write first or put the paint down first? Curious how your text doesn't bleed.
@@jenthejenius I'm glad you liked this! I usually add paint first, but I haven't had much trouble doing it the other way around either. Micron, UniPin and Gasenfude pens are all fine to paint over. One of my pages did buckle a LOT from painting a second layer, so be careful of that!

I just ADORE your pages and your voice -- everything is so lovely. 2025 will be my first year with a 5-year techo. I have the Cousin (my channel is mostly about my cousin) and I keep memory keeping in the weeklies (I think it's memory keeping anyway -- I call it my "have dones"). Your video and flipthrough has made my ideas for my 5-year techo all the more calm and relaxed and "wrap this up and breathe." I'm excited for it. Subscribed! Thank you!

I would definitely like to see a sketchbook tour of this when it is full! It is always interesting too see the preliminary work that goes into a finished piece. So many choices go into it. Seeing alternative designs that were scrapped for one reason or another can be very enlightening😉

Give it a shot! If you are into something you can be darned sure that you'll have quite a few other people that are into them. And if they get the Halloween greeting cards and they love them, then your name gets spread to others and then the popularity grows! ;-)

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love the artwork you made. Omg I love the little ghosties. Drawing on National Park cards seems fun. Where did you get your pack of cards? Your nails turned out so pretty.

I don't really like the Halloween things being out so early, b/c by the time Aug/Sept rolls around and I want to go shopping for it, it's all gone. It's very frustrating! And it's just too hot to go shopping in June, where I am anyways. I love your videos so much, thank you for sharing!
Awww, I appreciate that! And I think you have a point. You don't see Halloween decor around here until September and that makes it more special. I do wish we had a bit more variety though. Maybe this year I'll go see if Germany has more halloween spirit!
I love all your Art work. I too suffer with Chronic pain and I do a lot of Art Journaling but unfortunately I’m not good at drawing so I use stamps. I love water painting it’s so relaxing and helps take my mind off of the pain. Please keep making your videos. Take care xxx
I'm so sorry you've got chronic pain too. I do agree that art helps so much to distract from it! Watercolor looks so lovely with stamps, I like to do that as well. Although I always struggle to get stamps down right. But that's ok, it's no less fun for it!
You make drawing look so easy but I know it’s not. It looks beautiful where you live. We have a lake near us but it has a big shopping complex built around it now so it’s not the same xx

I completely relate! I have so many old journals with maybe 10 pages of super detailed, realistic artwork that I then gave up on. I hope simplifying will help for you too and that I'll get to see your journal one day!

Your comments always make my day! Thank you so much. We got married on Halloween 2022 after 11 years together. Tiniest ceremony ever, just us and the witnesses, but it was awesome.
8 years is a long time to be with your little friend Rosa. Still hard, but you're very lucky. The wedding is my favorite!
I feel lucky for sure! You could tell it was her time, she was all scraggly and had cataracts and everything. I think she had a full life. And that's one of my favorite pages too!

WOW! This is amazing! I am about to start a 5 year journal and I’m deciding which brand to go with. I like the Hobanichi so I can add extras. I am also starting a reading journal where a person writes down everything they read in a day. I know you are busy but you can do this too and include movies or tv shows you like as well. Some good TH-cam videos about these as well. I look forward to watching more of your content.
Thank you! Have you chosen your journal yet? I debated getting a Leuchtturm myself. I keep my reading notes in my Hobonichi too, but in very short form- not a ton of space in there!

I made a five year journal out of a regular blank book. I had only been writing in it, but after seeing what you've done, I'm going to be adding some of these ideas to it. It will be so much more fun to look through in the future with this sort of thing instead of just writing.

I knew of 5 year journals before but never thought about using them for art journaling! Yours definitely already is a treasure trove of memories and a joy to look at. I looked at the original Hobonichi journals online and they really are so expensive! I can´t justify paying that so I found a cheaper alternative. A 5 year journal for "a few lines a day" by Leuchtturm with 5 blank spaces on each page. Fingers crossed that it arrives fast and is of good quality to last the full 5 years. I really want to try this as mindfulness exercise and remembering more of the good stuff. Involving art will make it so much more playful I am sure!
Fantastic idea! I like Leuchtturm books too, I'm sure it'll be lovely. If it arrives a little late, it'll probably do to write a line or 2 about each day in a notebook for now. I do that when I'm sick 😊

I can relate with the bat painting too. It has a great atmosphere! Nowadays everytime when I do the evening walk with our dog I hear and see bats near the streetlights hunting insects too. And we are the only people who have carved pumpkins outside in our neighborhood too. We will do ours tomorrow last minute😅 I am glad that you enjoyed Beacon Pines as much as I remember enjoying it! I still hope that there will be similar games being made in the future!
