After owning Hondas, Yamaha‘s, and Can-Am‘s most of my life, I thought I would never own a Polaris ATV because I never thought too highly of them, but after owning this machine now I can tell you……. I was wrong for ever thinking that.

Yeah Polaris is the only way to go they are so far ahead of everybody else
I've had my Sportsman 850 for 6 years and have modified it to the way I ride, I did have to replace the fuel pump after about 1200 miles. I love it and it has done everything and beyond what I have asked of it, I also live in Idaho up in the Panhandle and ride my quad about 1200 miles a year. My wife has a 2014 400 HO, which has also been modified to some degree, I had to replace part of the charging system that went out. If you're handy you can do everything yourself, I bought what tools I needed and they have paid for themselves. Her 400 has 9000 miles on it and is still going. Polaris like every other company does cheap out on stuff and a person will have to figure out what they need to suit their purposes. Anyone who thinks ATV riding is cheap is in for a surprise, but a friend told me something that makes me feel better about it. He's a guy who likes to off road, but with his truck and to fix those up for that type of use costs 10 times as much as it does us ATV riders. People seem to want something to perform at it's best with little to no maintenance at the cheapest they can, unfortunately if you wanna play, you gotta pay. Rock on and enjoy being out on that badassery, those 1000 can launch you to the moon :)
@@leesurferdude truer words have never been spoken👍👍

I'm still not buying a polaris for the reasons you said you didnt like them but i can see where people do😂 I went canam ltd this year and was always a yamaha/kawi fan. I needed a 3-seater sxs and the defender was the best option for me
Do you drag race come on one thousand in the woods how fast do need to go ten fifteen mph
@@roberthathaway7958 lol! A lot faster than that. We also go to the dunes now and again so it’s nice to have the extra pony’s, and I like having the hp for when I want to romp on it.
I had a tough relationship with Polaris. Owned a 850 sportsman and a 1000 ranger. Both machines were Awsome snd very capable. My problem was stuff constantly breaking on them after a couple thissmsd miles or so. Own a pioneer 1000 now and while I really like it and it’s been crazy reliable. It don’t ride like the ranger. These new Polaris might be much tougher machines though than the old ones!
Such a good time!
If never owned a Polaris because everyone I knew around me with one always has problems. Brakes, belts, bushing, bearings, fuel pumps, engine failure. Sure they are pretty and they ride nice but I will just stick to my slow Hondas and Yamahas that always been reliable to me.
The fuel pumps on these newer models are shit. Chinese fuel pumps. Mine has 25 hours and is having fuel pump issues already. 🙄
You all are having way to much fun! Keep it up.
Yes we are🤘🤘
Legend has it Jagger is still spinning. Navy is one fearless cool chick. Tami is a major leaner. Casey’s tires are always spinning faster than he is moving. And these kids need to realize they are growing up with 10 times the amounts of cc’s that we did.
polaris is best
I have a 2024 sportsman 1000 Hunt edition…. Probably one of the best I’ve had so far….. can’t beat a Honda for reliability..but they suck!
It’s impressive how fast they got spinning!
Spiiiiiinnin!!!
Hahaha! Nice! They’re really popping! Indi even sleeps on the quad too.
I have a 2011 Sportman 400. It has been awesome! besides regular maintenance, I needed to replace a thermostat and a clutch pack. Not bad for many years of fun!!
As far as they've come they're still falling their sales are down recalls are up and they cost too goddamn much money. they want $15,000 for a 570 two up. For the price of that 1,000 you could have gotten a side-by-side. And with their bad reputation and a starting price of $16,000. Ill Stick with my 2001 Yamaha Bear tracker 250.
I can't justify spending the 200% extra for a used Honda or Yamaha quad, so I'm stuck with my $600 Polaris Sportsman 700 that has every joint worn out. Same with sleds, $850 Fusion 900.
I have owned 3 atvs, 2 polaris and 1 honda. By far the Polaris is the best of thrm all.
There’s not a single Polaris xp1000 with 10,000 miles on the same motor, not one.
They are still junk !
@@davidjordan6378 that’s all I buy!👍
They still have that goofy looking headlight on the handlebars though, looks so chinsy
I've owned polaris SXS and snowmobiles, and I'll never own them ever again. I now have a suzuki kingquad 750 and couldn't be happier.
Why a KQ over a Grizz?
@garretth0707 I found the kingquad and grizzly to be extremely competitive to one another. I wouldn't say the grizzly is a better all around machine so I went with value per dollar. The kingquad came out about 3500cad cheaper with 5 year warranty.
Got a chuckle when you started talking about what you don’t like. You stated with the headlight then went back to what you love. I just thought that was kind of funny. I’m looking at the 500 Sportsman for my daughter but she is petite. 5’0” so I’m not sure this is the best machine. The narrow seat is a plus. EPS another plus. We’ve always been Honda fans mostly because my uncle used to own a Honda dealership. I like all the Polaris and aftermarket accessories that are available for t Polaris
I would recommend the sportsman XP 550 for your daughter (2009-2014) , its on the same chassis(with the narrow seat), like the 850 and 1K 🙂 My wife is 4'11" and is more comfortable on sons 2010 550 than her 2018 Sportsman 570 SP
@@MrJeffyb69 Good to know. Thanks!
What's wrong with Polaris what wrong with Polaris?
Lol…. better hope you never have to change a cvt belt on the trail.
I have a 2017 850 sportsman that has 7500 hard miles on it! Just now I’m doing my first major maintenance on it ( other then oil changes) = bearings, breaks, bushings…… I’d say it’s held up way better than expected! I use it for everything from work to trail rides and sand dunes! The only thing I regret is not getting the 1000 = the extra power is needed in the big dunes!
@@FordManiac76 I don't know you haven't had to replace U joints because my Sportsman XP1000 and Scrambler XP1000 S had U joints failed by 750 miles. Replace them with Spicer 5-170X for inside C clip and 5-3233× for outside C clip.
As the owner of a grizzly and a king quad, of the japs would put a 850 twin in these quads they’d sell like hot cakes
And the Outlander will respond!
@@brandonfowler9369 I really hope so!!!!!! I’d like to see some sweet slow mo footage of drifting with a wave of snow billowing behind with ice crystals glittering in the snow!!!!!
@ that’s a tall order but I may be able to satisfy the requirements
I've always thought Polaris has had the best looking quads
@@jl6757 I really do like the look of them!
My 98 sportsman 500 has 22,838 miles and still runs like a champ 🏆
@@Mongoloidmike987 that’s incredible🤘🤘🤘

@@Mongoloidmike987 🤣👎🏻👎🏻
Good call fella
Well, got my first Polaris this year also. For similar reasons. Every guys that told me not to buy one had issues for the same reasons, lack of maintenance and they just constantly beat the crap out of it and honestly, don't know out to operate a CVT transmission.
Juuuuuuuuuunk
@@Eddiehal.l that’s all I buy! Junk🤘🤘🤘🤘

@@johnhouston3681 rock on!!!
There still junk Man look up all the problems they have
Well…. I own one now so I guess I’ll deal with it when the time comes👍
I have had a grizzly for years !! But they need a big upgrade !! That was why I bought a 1000xp Polaris
excellent choice. I just bought one yesterday with 900 miles from an ATV rep. This thing is a beast and fast.
Right on!
I’m new to Polaris and have been very happy with them !! My 2017 has been awesome
I've got a 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500HO that's still running like a champ. It's simple and easy to work on and does everything I need vs getting a new one, with all the bells and whistles and more possible failure points. Really don't want to pay the cost for one of these new machines either, "paid for" makes paying for an occasional breakdown more palatable.
Love my 2020 XP1000
Buy an Arctic Cat
Lmfao…. One of the absolute worst ATV brands out there. I’d rather ride CF Moto than Arctic Cat!😂
i hear they are good at climbing trees 😂
I buy Yamaha for reliability. A 660 Grizzly and an Apex 4 stroke snowmobile. And numerous Yamaha motorcycles.👍 Polaris and Ski Doo have not been reliable for me.
Thanks for sharing!
2023 Sportsman XP1000 ride command here, super comfortable, powerful, fun. So far about 1100 miles
Hell ya nice
