I am quite happy with my battalion level KS as a US backer. Also my IS Battle armor turned out great. Painted them as Red Lancers.

I cancelled my Kickstarter before it ended. I’m glad I did, because I have not been amused by the dumpster fire it was in terms of poor comms. But, there is a lot of stuff I’d like someday at retail.

I backed Mercs and then pulled out before the KS closed. Looking at what happened I am not sad about my choice. I'll grab Mercs when it hits my FLGS with no regrets. I'm not mad at Catalyst. I appreciate being able to get BT stuff and the quality of what is getting produced. I just don't feel like KS is the way I want to buy it. Choices are good!

Was interested in Warpath until I realised the issue that their vehicles are absolutely not in scale with the miniatures, that alone is fo me here the absolute dealbreaker.

extremely, horribly not worth it, i ended up being functionally held hostage by a $120 shipping charge I could have avoided by just waiting for product to go to retail and buy locally. never backing something from CGL again

I'm liking how the shelves and collections turned out. At this point only grabbing must have Wonder items. Would spring for more Rocketeer, Firefly, and Labyrinth stuff pretty readily though.

Clan invasion ks was great for the amount of product we got however it clearly wasn’t profitable for cgl. This one they have firmly set their targets on profitability which is kind of a mistake (should be about generating the content and to allow it to be continually made and break even. Your profit should be from retail sales after the fact. I understand why some people are so angry and upset. But at the same time given the delays on the clan invasion ks it’s unsurprising. The extra cost for delivery is a bit crazy however my shipping was only 32.20 usd so I can’t complain that much (I pledged at the 150 level and bought a drop ship add on)

any issues with warping at all? Did you need to boil any bits before assembly?

I purchased the Universal Monster version during the Prime sale this week. I thought about the American Monsters one but everything I kept seeing was the rules were not clear after the first box. It seems like it very common knowledge that there are rules issues with the other boxes. You would think a company like Ravensburger would update the rules in new boxes or have some kind of download on the site to fix the issues.

Not quite a review, but a "now that you want to buy one of these" sort of video. Very niche niche. Note: I don't show every mini in every game. Most have 6 monster minis each.

Got crucified on the battletech sub reddit. for complaining about the dice and challenge coins. And how they we're a bad idea. because they only slow down shipping. The Kickstarter was always about miniatures. For most people. I doubt people did it, for a bunch of stupid coins.

This is spot on. The "community manager" is a fucking joke and a real pos. As for the KS. I don't care about it being late. What I care about is the lack of respect from the company. They are more worried about DEI bs then communication with the product they sold.

Value-wise, per mini, I did not get as many minis as the Clan Invasion KS even though I doubled the pledge amount. I got 50% more minis in that first KS. However, I did end up with more "other stuff" in the Merc KS. Disappointed in the comms and CGL's recent BS. Been playing since '88... Don't think I will doing anymore business with CGL.

I had big plans for my Kickstarter Mechs, for late summer and fall, I was excited. June could not come fast enough. I have aquired some replacements off ebay, and spent way to much to get them, but the excitement is not the same. I am kind of loosing interest. Plans are set way back. My stuff, far as I can tell is being held up for a pair of Jade Falcon Dice, I would gladly write off or have shipped at a later date. Comms have been terrible on this, had to figure out hold up on my own.

Sounds like Catalyst is more fixated on pushing ThE mEsSaGe than actually fulfilling their responsibilities to their backers.

Hate to say this but it sounds like the interviews by Secretary Alejandro Nicolas Mayorkas about how many known criminals have committed crimes after they were vetted for entrance into the United States.

CGL's communication skills are absolutely garbage, not just from the project management front but also from the BattleTech community at large. Something that I have noticed is on more than one occasion. CGL will point fingers to other things that are "outside" of their control. But in reality, they are the ones in the position to be the leader/owner of communication for a project and have insight into their product. I am currently undergoing project management training. Some of the earliest topics covered were identifying stakeholders and the importance of communicating with them, including establishing trust with proper communication cadence. One would think that backers who gave financially to kickstart new products for CGL would be considered stakeholders, as they are invested in the success of the project and product launch. Yet, CGL's communication to backers has been inconsistent at best. Opting not to provide all updates to backers via Kickstarter communications. The platform that directly connects backers to CGL. Instead, some of it is here, some of it is elsewhere, and some of it is not provided by CGL but from one of their vendor's social media. Some of it is mixed with non-KS project-related topics. Like Shadow Run or some other product that CGL wants to push. It's very off-putting that CGL doesn't prioritize communicating to people that without their support. Might not have been able to launch new products for Battletech and be a point of potential success for CGL. It's like as if CGL came to the Battletech community and asked for money. The community responded with a resounding yes and via Kickstarter. Provided an unsecured loan to CGL to produce that product. Then CGL turns around and treats its backers, the people that "loaned" them a sizeable amount of money they do not need to pay interest on, and treats the backer community like second-class citizens. Then top it all off, treats them as hostile and "toxic" because they bring up concerns. If we were to mirror that behavior in a friendship or relationship, it would be one-sided, borderline abusive, and not built out of mutual respect. Certainly is not one that I would consider giving money to again.

@Box2Battle: thank you for posting the list on the KS, it's appreciated. :) Yeah, the comms on this one are atrocious. No idea why, you'd think they'd have it pat down since this was their tenth KS or so. Given how cagey CGL is, I fear this is going to get worse before the end. Never been a fan of CGL, I got into this one since it would've been the easiest way to complete the 3025/3050 collection over here in the EU. Probably still IS going to be the easiest way since CGL treats ROW customers like crap with spotty availability, ridiculous shipping costs in their own store etc. First, last and only CGL KS I'll ever back. I'll happily take my pledge and then walk away from them, never to return.

It is still pretty sad. Somehow its not as bad as my CI kickstarter. Everything was on the shelfs and restocked by the time i got my kickstarter. I was i. Wave 2 then 2.5 then later. Im sorry to all who are still waiting for their kickstarter.

On the upside, I'm sure this KS convinced a lot of people to get into 3d printing, so that's a net win in my book. Bought my Mars 4 Max back in November and I couldn't care less if I'm in EU wave 1 or 12 at this point.

I'm not sure how many will agree or disagree with me, but WizKids and their Clix based revamp was better for Battletech than CGL ever was.

It makes me sad for fellow backers that a lot of the shortages are stuff that catalyst apparently just didnt order enough of, i got my stuff in early august and have bith falcon dice and raven dice. However the laser cut falcon dice are garbage to read (they roll fine but the pipes are nearly the same color as the rest of the die)

been playing since 1984. i stayed away from the K.S. simply because it was funded in mere minutes. they didn't need my dollars. instead, I get to support my FLGS and buy a box a week for the next year. looking forward to the universe book.

Been a Battletech fan and player since 1986 and I really wanted the Battletech Remembrance book form that Kickstarter and got cold feet due to things I had heard about Catalyst. I am really glad I skipped it. I will keep using my FASA books for play and later I might try to pick up a copy of the Remembrance if they every become available...

If you only knew the whole story.

This kickstarter is 3 times bigger, and 50% more money in the average pledge. That is a lot of plastic. So I estimate that in net terms it means it is 450% more plastic than previous KS. In business there is a trilemma. You can have 2 of 3. * Do it quickly * Do it right (quality) * Low cost I prefer the last 2. So I do not mind to wait. Whatever happens it still will be cheaper than going retail. So I do not get stressed. They are a small company and I am sure they were not ready for a 450% increase in demand of plastic. I take it easy and buy popcorn. It will arrive one day. In 2020 without the 450% there were problems. I can wait.

I was with you for the most part, right up until you called Rem Alternis a "good person"... this is the person who has excommunicated people from the Battletech Community because she doesn't like their PERCEIVED political ideologies. She took over private servers & groups to incorporate them into the "official" CGL controlled communities. She's a narcissistic authoritarian who has used doxing, harassment & bullying to take over the community with the help of psychopaths who threatened to murder people. sorry. but you lost me calling someone like that a good person.

As a guy that passed because honestly I was broke AND didn't want to get sucked back into BT (Utter failure on that by me buying a Comstar Level II lance a month ago to play with my kid), I kinda regret not jumping on this. My bud at work JUST got his pledge and while I'm jealous, I'm not envious of the new pile of shame that he has, LOL.

It took them 40 years to figure out by accident that good minis are a thing.
