Offroad adventures in BC Canada
Clark Griswold Jahn, Mission BC, Light Parade 2024
Was so fun to be apart of the Griswold Light Parade again this year. Made some changes from last season. Over 2100 lights including Kyle and Kevin, the Polar Bears pulling Santa atop the Jeep. Great turnout of vehicles plus sooooo many people cheering us on!

Some footage of my drive up from the Fraser Valley to Quesnel. The changing of landscape over the roughly 600 kms is breathtaking. The volunteers with the NWMDR worked tirelessly in extreme heat. The drivers and their crews put on an amazing show. If you're ever able to attend one of their events, I highly recommend it.

Huge turnout so we split into 3 groups. I went with the last group because it was almost all new offroaders. Helped get people thru the more challenging spots. Nobody got stuck or damaged so definitely a great day. If you see me on the trails, or are in the same run as me, and want me to get some video of you, please reach out at the start of the run. Definitely come say hi and let me know if y...
Fraser Valeey Offroad Holiday Light Parade: Maple Ridge BC. 🍁
มุมมอง 251ปีที่แล้ว
I wasn't able to make day one of the Parade so this is my day 2 footage. Because of the size of Maple Ridge it was split into 2 routes over 2 days. I felt absolutely blown away by the community support as there were people lined up along the streets basically the entire route. People had propane fore pits, warm drinks and lawn chairs. Lots of lights in the crowd, cheering us on as we drove by. ...
Williams Park Langley, BC Canada Light parade.

Once again the 4WDABC organized a light parade for Williams Park. The Park has volunteers who spend countless hours setting up Christmas lights and displays for drive-thru viewing. They did an amazing job, so if you are in the area I highly recommend you take a drive thru. Big thank you to the volunteers who make this possible, as well as the volunteers from the 4WDABC for organizing. And of co...

Final footage from Stave 2023 trip. Big thanks to Kim, Sherri, Ashley and Keaton from the Backroad Explorers for setting us up nice and close to this big mud pit that seemed to be a popular spot. and for the toasty fire to keep warm.

Stave Mud Flats in BC Canada. Super foggy, but tons of fun. Lots of great builds out there today. I was only there for a couple hours but got lots of footage so I'm breaking it down into a few videos for easier viewing. Enjoy.

Did you wrap that JL Wrangler? That's not a stock color I don't think...or is it?
Great vid! Loved the part with the drone and the music. I can't wait to take my buddies here.
@Mr6Aleister6Crowley6 thanks for watching. It's a great area especially this time of year with the fall colors. Be sure to check out Mudsheriffoverlanding as well. He's the one that got tje drone footage for us. Has some really good videos on his channel
@@adventureswithbearthanks for the shout out, we loved the trip even with the issues that arose and would for sure do it again in the future. Any trip your with us I'm more than willing to assist in filming some footage for you including and not limited to drone stuff 😉 the things we do for friends am I right? 🎉❤
@MudSheriffOverlanding totally right. We always have a great time when we're out together. Great little group of people
Hy is it possible to go with 2 wheel drive vehicle
10 Mile Bay is now closed. Weaver Lake you can get to with 2wd just go really slow. Theres a long steep hill as well so it can be tough to get traction depending on the vehicle and tires. The actual West Harrison FSR is pretty accessible for most vehicles. Again, tires can make a big difference. Lots of shale and sharp rocks so make sure to have a good quality spare tire just in case. Lots of great view points and various lake access. I've seen 2wd trucks and SUVs go all the way thru to Pemberton. Hope this helps.
Are those antennas mounted on the front of your Jeep? Newbie over here… PS, Looks like a GREAT time!
Definitely a trip worth doing. The whips on the front are multi color lights. If you look thru my older vids around Christmas, they'll be lit up
We were just out there a few weeks ago! Quite the different look from last year after all the fires
This is really low water too. In the spring you can't even see the rocks
Wow, I never got a feel for the full scale of the falls until I saw the picture with Harpreet sitting in front of them! I hope I get to see it in person one day.
Great video, thanks Bear
I like the fact that there's not a lot of chatter/narrative going on in this video. You should do all your videos like this.
Thanks for the tip. I'll keep this in mind for sure 🐻
Fantastic, thanks for sharing, Bear
Thanks for watching. Hope you subscribed so you'll get to see new content as it comes up.
Fed fisheries and the BC Conservation service would like you to keep your trucks out of the water, they may have fines waiting for you, if I did that with a log skidder they would be all over me.
It's actually allowable to cross where the roads have been washed out. The places fisheries has issue with is when it's not an actual road like the guys who cross Skewelpil Creek on the west side of Chehalis Lake. Cypress Point and Salsbury Lake are both accessed sites that use these designated crossings. Also, everytime we go up in these groups, we are removing trash left behind by others.
Great job Bear, I saw that puddle you flew through. Was a great day.
I hit it on the way back too.
Your volume have the time hard to hear
Thanks for watching and the input. The waterfall is super loud so trying to speak over it wasreally hard. I use my phone for all the video till I can get a drone so it's hit or miss. I'll definitely try to work on getting some audio editing apps to try and improve that.
@@adventureswithbear wasn't the waterfall it was while driving to the falls
Awesome video and pictures!
Thanks so much!
I love your videos and this is bubba90
Awesome thnx for watching and subscribing
That was hard to watch on the zr2 woah
Looks like a lot of fun. Is access to this from the west or east side of Stave lake? Thanks
This is from the West side. Really easy access.
Thanks, I'll head there this Sat :) @@adventureswithbear
Where is the run? This is just a drive on roads.
This was with BC Softroaders so had to be accessible to pretty much everything from Subies to Ravs, Escapes etc. Was more about raising funds for a good cause and meeting like minded people
Went to mount woodside yesterday. Was dope to check out for the first time. I’m also waiting for for my teal colour member only jacket. Hahahah hope fully see u up there. I drive an army green FJ.
Nice, hopefully see ya on the trails soon. Thanks for watching.
Amazing video. Thank you very much for this and support the event. This year was another successful event with approx $5800 in toys, good and cash raised to go to the Christmas Bureaus in the Fraser Valley.
Great video Bear thanks.
I tried that today solo and backed up at the first obstacle haha. Would love to go with some more experienced guys and definitely a spotter.
You should join the Backroad Explorers group. They seem to go up there quite a bit. And yeah I wouldn't have gone if I didn't have good people with me.
Nice! That’s my white Colorado parked on the right at the bottom.
Nice, always good to have people notice their vehicles in my vids. Thanks for watching
@@adventureswithbear I totally agree. I thought your rig looked familiar. I will def say hi next time I see your rig.
Great video, I usually do that run several times a year, superb place
Somebody shut the dog up please
You by chance a paramedic ?
I'm not but I do have family in the service.
That zj has some good flex for being stock
Yeah those things are great. Built really well.
@@adventureswithbear i do plan on putting a 4" lift into it at some point
@justins8510 I have a 2.5" lift in mine and plan to go to 35s next year. Doubt I'll go any bigger than that any time soon. I still use it as my daily so way too many highway miles to go 37s lol
@adventureswithbear I am planning on only going with a 31" tire. I have air shocks in the back which I hate with a passion
Greettings- that is cool shots, 😮
Thank you so much.
Why not post a video without all the cars and rain
This is BC, it rains a lot. I dont see any cars in the video 🤔
Nice
wanting to go. have been to nahalatch. do you have a link for the map. all trails or gaia?
Cross at Boston Bar, Chaumox Rd and head north. It becomes the Nahatlatch FSR. Stay on that all the way past Nahatlatch lake. Follows the river for a while before crossing the river. If you type it into Gaia it'll definitely take you there. I'm not very techy so haven't figured out how to share links to routes yet lol
@@adventureswithbear gotcha. last yr we went to the tower and there was a sign to the lake i think that it was washed-out so we didn't bother going but good to know. thanks a lot
Lol, watching while writing last comment then 5 minutes later u mention the crossings not being to bad and Cherokees and stuff should be able to make it.
I definitely wouldn't take stock Cherokees up there now. Some more rain fell since I made this video and more heat caused more runoff. I'll have to get up that way again soon and re-assess
Really enjoy your videos. Would you say this run is stock friendly? I have a gladiator. Want to do this, but some of those crossings looked a little deep.
Unfortunately there's been bigger wash outs since this video was recorded. That being said, a stock Gladiator has decent clearance. Lots of places to explore up that way so still worth the trip if you can't get to the falls themselves.
Sweet videos, wish I could have made that run!
Trying new video format? Or by accident?
Not sure what that's in reference to. I'm pretty new to tech lol
@@adventureswithbear video is squared horizontal at the middle of screen
@@adventureswithbear thats a 9:16 video ratio, change it to 16:9 and it should be the regular.
@vojinle oh ok. Yeah that's cause I do all my filming horizontal but I added the pic of the Event banner from White Rock Dodge at the beginning which was vertical. Guess I should have left it out.
I love that spot!
In case your wondering what that trip is like in the snow, we just did it a couple weeks ago - awesome drive!! Sylvester In The Snow - March 2023 th-cam.com/video/MvVNcwym8T0/w-d-xo.html Nice channel BTW
Do you have to go through the sandy portion to get to the hot springs?
I think you're asking about Hobo hotsprings on Harrison Lake. Those ones you walk to right from the hotel. Clear Creek is about 40km to the Clear Creek fsr then about 15km on that one. No sand.
This lake is fantastic! Would you care to share?
Yeah for sure. That's Foley Lake near Chilliwack BC.
Cool video. Thanks for posting I love visiting Clear creek hot tubs. I wonder if I'd have any problems getting there with toyota tacoma trd off road pulling a lifted 15 foot travel trailer.
I definitely wouldn't recommend the trailer. There's a spot where there's a Boulder in the middle of road which would be tight to get around. And one crossing that's a pretty decent step down. Maybe try without the trailer first and have a look. Gives ya an excuse to get up there. Lol
@@adventureswithbear Thanks for the info. I'll give it a go in April. Worse case is need to turn around :)
who wants to put together a TH-cam run... get a couple channels together and go off roading
im always up for a colab run.
@@adventureswithbear sounds good we’ll have to sit down and talk I’m sure there should be a could of other channels reading this??? Who might also be interested.??
@cj7supersnail yeah I know I have some other local youtubers on here so hopefully we can put something together
@@adventureswithbear that would be great. I’m nearly finished working on the cj7ss. But I’ve another Jeep here as well
I even picked up some jk fox shocks... just need to make some adjustments to fit them on. it is over on my channel....
Ian getting very close to being able to get my diesel cj7 out of the garage .... so close.... lights are all working now ...
That looks really fun! Hopefully I can able to join you guys soon!
Looking forward to it. Always up for meeting new people and getting out more
....and that kid next to the winch line at 16:46
Totally agree with you there. Anybody, and their dogs, definitely should have been kept clear of that winch line. Better education and/or better awareness needs to be taken here.
Yeah absolutely. It's already being discussed in our group. Designated roles and everyone else stays clear. Definitely a learning opportunity.
Came to comments to make sure this was said 👍🏻
@Digger Dave was definitely a learning experience for the group. Was out with this same club not too long ago and we had a Jeep go over an embankment backwards. Icy hill and some bad ruts. When we set up our rigging we made sure everyone was well back, better communication and we took our time to make sure of what we were doing. I didn't get any video on that one unfortunately cause I was up in the trees securing lines, snatch blocks and checking angles.
Tried to go down here on Friday. It was rough 🤣 we turned around before this 🤪 Maybe see you out there one day ✌️
Painful to watch that Chevy :( at 16:25
He actually came away with very little damage. Unfortunately ripped a valve stem so had to swap a tire out. Couldn't get the bead to separate. We had a replacement valve stem but no access. Even parked 2 Jeeps on either side of the tire and it wouldn't let go lol
From Russia with 🤗
Niceee. Hope to go there one day.
Looks like a blast. I just found your channel from one of the local off-road groups I recently joined. Hopefully going to make it out to the next runs in our Sahara.
Oh nice. Yeah I'm definitely up for pretty much anything on the weekends. Basically first group I'm in that posts for a certain day I commit to it. Will be doing some overlanding trips this year as well with some groups.
@@adventureswithbear awesome,! hopefully we will meet up soon then.
Looks like it was a great day!
Do you have any videos or pictures of the grotto?
th-cam.com/video/yN9QUkRPAAU/w-d-xo.html This is one of my other videos going to it. Wetter weather, different season. I think there's a better view of it on this one. I also have another video posted on my channel of it. Been there a few times. Definitely one.of my favorites
