    Hmmm...must be the camera angle...but at 15:35 it looks like youre going up a reentrant with a slope up to either side, however the map shows that doesnt really start for another 50-75 meters, very deceptive landform there...

    As an absolute beginner, am trying to understand what is seen vs what is on the map. As much as this is the perfect opportunity to do it, and sincerely thank you for the effort that must go into doing these, it's clear that the gps tracking map is innacurate to the pysical location which is frustrating. Please take this as the constructive critism as it's intention. Having watched a few of these, I'm excited to get into an event I've signed up to, but thought I'd drop my hopefully helpful comment to how to improve them as I might just be your target audience for your setup. Again thankyou, liked and subscribed.

    I think I saw on the livelox site there is a free hand track drawing option...but wow...trying that on this complicated network of trails and junctions would be next to impossible...even using a drag and drop on the gps track would be a nightmare...viewers should realize there is an inherent worldwide 3-5 meter gps error on small handheld or bodyworn devices....

    • @josephlynchorienteering
      @josephlynchorienteering 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi John. Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately the hand drawn route moves at a constant speed which wouldn't line up with the video like GPS does. But still on the lookout for a better solution!

      @@josephlynchorienteering So I used to use Control Orienteering analysis until my iphone got updated...the app does not work anymore, even after exchanging a lot of info with the developer...however, I used it a lot before that, and you can micromanage your entire route once you get the hang of it...i would move the less obvious parts of the track in wooded areas...and just skip sections where I am clearly running on a road for 500m...otherwise even if I was just a few meters off the entire event I never bothered...

    Thanks for sharing. As an orienteer and trail biker who uses and uploads tracks, I understand the limitations of gps accuracy especially in inclement weather or dense foliage...hopefully others who watch this can grasp that concept. That area looks like homeless people live there!! 🧐
