Chicken Dippers 1.0 - TENNIS SINGLES DRILL!
In this weeks video, Coach Alan and Coach Mark demonstrate a fun tennis singles drill called Chicken Dippers 1.0. This is a great drill to develop your skill to deal with the net player in singles.
How Chicken Dippers 1.0 works:
The feeder starts at the net and has to stay deep in the service box behind the cheese strip line and the player in the hot seat starts at the baseline. The 2 players engage in a cooperative rally in which the baseline player is trying to dip the ball low onto the net players shoe laces.
This is a great drill and tactic because if you can force the net player to play a low volley, or half volley this is a very difficult shot to play. Plus it can prevent them from hitting a power volley as they have no height to whack the ball downwards.

Speaking as a coach and as a viewer of many coaching videos out there, this methodical approach of testing out all the combinations for us to see is very refreshing. Other coaching videos out there all too often appeal to the coach’s authority and experience, and sometimes just preach without any reasoning whatsoever. Depending on what you’re aiming to do with this video and channel, I think with some editing and chapters included, this video would be more accessible for those looking to dip in and out for quick overviews. I’ve subscribed though, thanks for the info!
great
Fun thing I learned how to do is called chopsticks it’s where u bounce ball and catch with ball trapped between ur wrist and the handle of racket
for rec players, the lob shot is actually their attack shot 😂
I have just received the TR990 Power (285g), I come from basic aluminum rackets and this one feels so good, even though is heavier the weight is so well distributed, well done Artengo!
Get Ahead in Tennis with Killer Volley Techniques. Great Video! Thanks for sharing this one.
What’s with music?
Thanks for the review, how did you find the comfort ?
Wow 😮
Great review! More artengo tr930 spin line.
why would you want to run around the backhand (unless it is your strongest shot)? good players i play with told me it is not good habit to run around the backhand?
If your forehand is your weapon and is better than your backhand, then in certain situations it may be a good idea to run around your backhand to hit an inside in/inside out backhand! It will help you to take charge of the point.
inside in/inside out forehand ***
Helloooooo
Thank you, nice video, keep going on! It really helped me

Awesome 😍💋 💝💖♥️❤️
Oh great ! Many Thx... but I really wish you managed to make a strike !!!
Thank you, Alan! I never really knew what is the objective of the volley: direct the ball away from the opponent, lower the incoming speed of the ball, direct the ball to the opponent's body, add backspin to the ball or a combination of the above?
Hi Dan! What you are tying to do with the volley is very situation and depends on the ball you receive from your opponent. A good tactical rule of thumb in singles is to direct the ball into the open court and away from your opponent! 👍🎾
Nice music.
Great Post and coaching 🎾 keep up great work
Too good yet so rare posting
Some lovely feeding there Alan 👍🏽
I taught him how to feed like that
Great drill!
Great kick but could you show or explain more the racket path as it strikes the ball?
Hi
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS,, IT WOULD MEAN THE WORLD TO ME IF YOU CHECKED OUT MY CHANNEL & SUBSCRIBED !! >>th-cam.com/video/4hDffMk-fas/w-d-xo.html<<
Good, but how did you get your toss so high?
Thank you! A good tip to getting your toss higher is to lifting your tossing arm after letting go of the ball on your ball toss. This will keep the momentum going upwards and help you get the toss higher. Hope this helps and thank you for watching!
Thank you for contributing to the World Tennis Community, wishing you all the best!
Thank you so much! Wishing you the best too!
