I love the opportunity & privilege The Lions Den provides fans by doing these interviews. The show's behind the scene vibe hits different. P.S. Nobody is giving us a chance at winning this thing...one play at a time...make em believers
I hope Alonzo ford is able to stay for another year, if him and Zane come back, that would be a crazy starting d tackle duo
I love watching lions den, I wish you guys did more of these year round , I’m a huge Penn state fan from Canada and it’s a great way to get to know the players and the feel of the locker room
Very cool to hear how far and wide Penn State fans are scattered across the 🌎
Love you guys!
Great info again. Thank you gentlemen.
Thanks again for watching!!
Imagine, my Nittany Lions 🦁 getting revenge for Ole Miss last year, we won't have opt outs this year, fact!!!! Lol WE ARE
Thank you sir!
Good show 👏 guys!!! WE ARE, win out and take care of business, home game in Happy Valley in December!!! Amazing 👏!!!!
Would be poetic justice!!
How can u think BYU losing would still ne ahead of penn state. Lmao. Who have they beat?
They blew out Kansas State and they beat SMU-both CFP ranked teams. PSU doesn’t have a single CFP ranked win. Additionally, if BYU’s only loss was in the additional CC game, I doubt the committee holds that against any team.
I am juiced for these playoffs because I have not seen any team that I consider unbeatable, I am so accustomed to saying that at the mid point of most years you are all saying too that well It's Georgia or Bama again, this year not so much I think it's there for the taking for these Nittany Lions so stay on that pedal and run people over and you will like where we end up !
Great Job guys. love the cast
I love the F Bombs. More authenticity please ❤️
Why the need for all the F-Bombs? The rest of analysis is great.
I forgot to do the pickem last week. I was winning too. RIP.
Woooof
@StateMediaPSU yeah lol. I'll still do the next few weeks to see if I would have won. I was gonna donate the prize anyways if I won.
Alright I just checked last week's form and I would have gotten 5 points with what I was going to pick so 96 actual + 5 theoretical.
Ohio State is the better team admit it stop making excuses and give Ohio State the credit they own Penn State
Y'all love making excuses with the refs
Don't blame officials for your loss
As a psu alum and former donor...this program isnt getting a dime from me until JF is gone. I actually have quite a few friends and people talking about giving money to OSU in the interim
Not sure I believe you
@StateMediaPSU that's alright 👍 js there is a lot of untapped donor potential right now in the program. I'm confident the internal metrics show that. For me and people I've talked to internally ROI no longer believable
@@across7162 Would love to talk to you more about this. Not sure if you would like to
Why not use Beau to create a change and make the run game more effective
Plays , under 5 yards look the same as they did ten years ago. How do we know Franklin isn't overruling on the g line
Pissed away an opportunity
I will NEVER be an emotional fan or person; I'm old school too. Ride or die with Nitts; They can and still will get it done, finish 11-1 and have a chance to play a MASSIVE home playoff game
If you watch that goal line stand at the end of the game, the majority of our helmets were getting pushed backwards or no forward movement. The facts are facts, OSU was physically faster and stronger than us on the line. Our OLine is NOT a strength. Our success has been through scheme more than anything this year. Does anyone in the PSU fan world think we could have stopped OSU for 4 downs if the situation was switched?? Hell no way.. we need to face facts. All that and we were right there 🤏..
I am about done with PSU. I am a season ticket holder since 1999. I had to endure the dark times 2001-2004, the Sandusky mess, defending myself and PSU in Florida through all of that. And this is the best they can do? The behavior on the field is sophmoric at best. Taunting calls are constent and inane The lack of bravado offensively against tOSU is hard to watch. The team's identity is pale and pastey at best. There is no leadership on the field with the players at all. This is not anywhere near a quality PSU team and fear it will continue to diminish until change happens.
That lack of defending the edge/flat is a glaring issue. DEs and OLBs cannot stop runs and passes that go wide. Chip Kelly schemed for this perfectly with pitches and screens, as will the rest of the teams on the schedule.
Our offense has no killer instinct
You guys provide a great perspective as former Nittany Lions. Thank you! Wondering how many other loyal lifelong PSU fans are starting to or have already lost faith in JF? This OSU result like a broken record. At some point, the admin going to have to evaluate and act on what sure does look like a Mark Richt type of situation and take some risks. Can’t help but see this as a “definition of insanity” scenario to continue without change and expecting a different outcome. We have seen it with our own eyes too many times with ceiling clearly established. Love PSU and even JF for what he has done for this program, but want/need more.
C.Hack knows it more so than anyone else. James Franklin is in over his head. Ruined hackenberg who would have only destroyed the NFL had BOB not left, but I digress. James Franklin should be where he belongs, at the Amazon warehouse. The CJF experiment ran its course for me at the end of 2018. This guy fucking sucks.
Question for you guys, why would Franklin not a call a TO before that 4th down play and make sure that got into the right playcall? Is that a coaching blunder or what?
One critical point that i believe you skipped over was OSU second touchdown drive where they were actually stopped and the unsportsman penalty gave the ball back to continue the drive. The announcers said earlier they were letting them play but that penalty did not reflect that position
The U.S like penaltie was a dead ball foul. It had zero to do with the refs letting the players play or not letting them play. I did not like the call. But the kid knew what he was doing. He looked down at #17 while stepping over. Act like you have been there before. 🤷
The prior game #1 took his helmet off after the pick 6. It had a detrimental impact on the following kickoff. My understanding is #1 did it again in this game!! Then there was the step over that was catastrophic and led to a TD. It reeks of players being out of control. The time for all that crap is after the W.
@@ericmontoya3447 Absolutely spot on. Then you have Franklin and staff on the sidelines high fiving this kid. What is this? Sit him as he made the game about himself and not the team.
@@brianquiggle6675 🤷
Anything more to add?
In my opinion if you hold a modern team (Penn States, Bamas, Michigans, Clemsons, etc) to less than 4 TDs a game, even just 27 pts /game, that's an ok defensive performance. Not phenomenal. But ok. It's tough to stop teams now. Both teams struggled on offense this game. One team struggled more. Reminded me of the Ohio State/Oregon game, like a battle for mediocrity.
Defense did enough for sure.
I really appreciate how Christian and B Bell do this podcast, it's my favorite one the most real. I also am facebook friends with your Grandma Christian she is way cool and very proud of all her grandkids.
#44 is our offense!
I want to know if Andy or Franklin was calling the plays in that game
No one will ever ask...I feel that same exact way
Sorry, we don't have the WRs to compete and score. Better goal line play calling definitely not hurt but we need some great to elite WRs. Gotta try a couple deepballs a game especially vs the ohio sts and Michigan's we never seem to go deep vs those teams for whatever reason!
The running game has really regressed which will make it damn near impossible to win much , sad....
It's a Penn State problem, we just cannot win against great squads. I have been a fan since the late 70's and I can count on my two hands how many huge wins against great teams I can remember that I was shocked we won. I think Happy Valley is a wonderful place just not for dominate football and it may never be ?
Great content! Can we get a Journey Brown interview!
Great episode, guys! I love hearing all the stories from practice and all the different drills you guys run. We are!
wow, that was pure entertainment! absolutely tremendous personalities. Go Penn State!
Best episode yet. I loved what Devon had to say about prep week for this game he seems even which is where you want to be do not give a competitor anymore juice than they deserve !
Fantastic episode. My favorite one yet. Loved the stories
The energy and camaraderie is so authentic. Their reminiscing of the past makes me fondly reflect back to my old high school and college teammates. SO TERRIFIC! 😀
I dont put all the blame on Tom Allen. He can call the perfect game but if the players don't execute it's a moot point
That’s a very fair point
I recall Julian's recruitment, I live close by to his home area and I was pretty disappointed when he didn't come here. And I understand the drive Ohio State and the wide receivers coach is considered one of the best, but was still a disappointment. I've never heard him talk prior to this and every time I hear him speak now I am just impressed with this kid. He's doing what it takes to win. And I'm always gonna remember those two catches against you USA. Those are kind of place in retrospect that make a huge impact on the season. He's incredibly well spoken and has just a wonderful attitude and I wish him the greatest success .
The 3 of you guys together..... Just amazing. I gotta realize that my kids are the same age now and you three express all the values that I've been proud to see them express themselves. There's so much hope for the future (in this current atmosphere) when I see people from the next generation view life with such clear eyes. Forget the actual game, I love Penn State football as much as anyone but to see you guy talk about your journey through the lens of faith and family is refreshing beyond belief.
Man, Wisconsin had a ton of dropped passes. Our middle seemed pretty soft from a coverage perspective. Did you guys see the same thing or was I watching a different game ?
Mr butterfingers
love this channel. Keep up with the good work guys
Damnit… I missed the Mailbag video this week.
I'm glad you do ads in the beginning. The ad breaks you use to do would kill the show
Shout out to Bell, I really like his takes
Enjoyed this episode. Julian is a good young man.
