Every single bait I've painted so far is by the seat of my pants lol. Some turn out better and others not so much, But that's how we learn.

For being so simple this had turned out extremely well. The blue eyes brought this lure together. I use KBS for clear coat but honestly I think I'm switching to 2 part epoxy. I have mixed results with KBS.

@@twitcherz_fishing I use True Coat 2 part epoxy and like the results but will warn that you need a scale to get the mixture ratio right.

@@RaggedEdgeLureWorks I looked into true coat but I can not find anything locally and I would have to order from the states. I was looking at clearcast 2 part epoxy.

I'm located in Alberta. Lots of pike around here. Bass fishing is what I wish we had in Alberta. Definitely like fishing from a kayak, Thank you for the support.

@@twitcherz_fishing my friend Sean @Angling Spiders lives in Calgary and fishes for pike from a kayak, recently caught some nice pike on one of my Fire Tiger Jerk-baits that I painted. It’s funny, you guys fish for Pike and wish you had Bass and I fish for Bass and wish we had Pike. Tight lines !

That is a must have pattern for pike. I've seen some of his videos he definitely has caught some nice pike.

I have been using a gloss coat for the mid coat before applying stencils and it really does make a difference. I did try the water and alcohol but was fighting with it so much I set it aside for now. So far the flow improver has helped out.

These stencils are from Wlure.

@@twitcherz_fishing thank you, the first batch of blanks I got were from amazon and I’m pretty sure they are Wlure blanks.

@@curtismiller7762 Honestly they are not a bad blank. I've ordered about 3 dozen or so from Wlure and compared them to others I get from reputable dealers and I don't notice that much of a difference. I've water tested all of them and have yet to see 1 leak.

As soon as I get home I will put up the ratios for you. I was very pleased with the colors. They did turn out quite nice.

So the first mixed color I sprayed was mixed at 30 drops titanium white, 15 drops orange yellow, 3 drops raw umber and 1 drop black. 2nd color I sprayed that was mixed was 30 drops titanium white, 10 drops sangria red, 3 drops raw umber, 1 drop black. The paints I used were by Meeden and I did thin them using 4011 by createx.

The pearlized colors spray very well out of the bottle. The opaques I use I will thin if I'm spraying at lower pressures. But honestly everything by createx has flowed very well with no thinner.

One of the cool things about painting with an airbrush is flying by the seat of my pants. I often start out with one thing in mind and the whole thing can change midstream to something totally different from what I originally planned and usually it is better than what I had in mind when I started. I like the subtlety of the scale pattern, nice looking bait.

ArTool texture stencils

Has to be one of my favorites for cranks on a bright sunny clear water day.

You will love it. One of the best reels I've used. I think when it comes to performance at this price point it can't be matched. 45.00 is a steal. Cast all day and retrieve large crankbaits until the cows come home, This reel is a beast.

Yes sir it is the Meeden paint from Amazon. Honestly the paint has surprised me it flows smoothly, The colors are vibrant and the price was right. I could only find them in 1 oz bottles though. Hope you have a safe and merry Christmas.

I use wood..some are carved, some get turned on a large and some just get cut out with a handsaw and sanded ....I also buy unpainted plastic and do what you do with my air brushes and give the baits to young kids

I find it just depends on water temp and water clarity. I have lots of success using spoons, But I have more fun catching pike on spinner baits and shallow diving crankbaits. I do love how aggressive they are. I've been meaning to try out some buzzbaits. I may do that on my next outing. Thanks for watching

That seems to be the next thing to learn, What flys to use and the size. There is definitely alot more to consider when trying to fish with flys for small rainbows. Thanks for watching

It was nice getting out much earlier. It was so peaceful and calm out there. Nothing beats a little fly fishing on a Sunday morning
