After our breakfast at one of Jaipur’s most popular ‘Misthan Bhandars', we headed to Gulabji Chai Wala for more breakfast. (Technically, it’s not possible to ‘break-fast’ once you’ve already broken it!) As we walked there, we were greeted by the sight of hundreds of people sitting on plastic stools, enjoying a variety of dishes.
We approached a group of young locals who were chilling (and, of course, eating) and asked for their recommendations. They insisted that we must try the ‘Bun Samosa’ here. Additionally, they playfully shared the Bengali phrase ‘Ami Tomake Bhalobashi,’ which translates to ‘I love you.’ However, let me assure you that this is merely Hindi speakers quoting a popular line from Bengali films without fully understanding its meaning.
After exploring the area, we ordered Chai (tea), Bun Maska (split buns with butter), toast, and, of course, Bun Samosa! If you ever visit, try to arrive early to fully savour the experience because it’s not just about eating-it’s about enjoying every moment!
