Interestingly they become Devients after going through the process of danger. Their system notices when danger is nearby and it creates a way to protect the machine and those around them. For example, when the body feels danger it establishes a new system like “fear” and “anger” as those two things are normally associated with protecting yourself and others from danger. So pretty much yeah they don’t feel anything however bc it was built by a human. The system can mimic anything the human teaches it just by observing us. If it was never built by something that can feel or have empathy the machine will stick to its original task giving. And to do that task it will do anything it needs to get it done. An Example of that is Kara, who was tasked to be a caretaker however her original task is to look after Alice and protect her just like a human child. Her system created a new safety system just for Alice called “Mother” She has mimicked everything a mother does by showing emotions and protecting their offspring.
