Design is a passion for many people, including me. It is a creative outlet that allows me to express myself and create something unique and beautiful. People who are passionate about design are often driven to create something that stands out and makes a statement. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my work and push the boundaries of what is possible. I am also passionate about learning new techniques and staying up to date with the latest trends in design. Likewise, I enjoy the nostalgic side of consumerism from the past, especially when and where I grew up in the 1950s. Please subscribe to my channel and get notified for upcoming videos.

So nice to see things like this to get over the INSANITY of the modern world!
We drove from Philly to Florida every summer to visit family. 1950s and 60s. I loved the motels... so many to choose from. Look Mom, that one's AAA, that one has a pool, a TV! Those little bars of soap and glasses wrapped in waxed paper. And the motel restaurant serving fried chicken and french fries. I nearly died with happiness.
Again, you've schooled us with your well done video. Thank You for the time and effort you put into your work.
Back during that brief bubble in time (from the 1950s to the 1980s) where you didn't have to worry about bedbugs or cockroaches in most motels. (Thanks to the massive use of DDT in the 1940s/50s) Cheap international travel soon put an end to that.
So much style. The atomic designs were always my favorite. The cat too
I really enjoyed this vid Michael sir.👍 I honestly didn't know the name to this design style. TY for educating me and probably a number of others. 😊
really nicely explained.
Thank you. This is a beautiful style i love.
Good video. A little surprised at the jewel-toned colors. Also, I suspect that most of these images are from Interior Design catalogues or Women's magazines.
One day I hope I can have a house 🏡 with all designs and accessories from this time period. Will take a lot of work but would be worth it! Love the video!❤
Simply breathtaking. I love the beautiful music as it somehow relates to the photos being shown. Simply beautiful homes indeed. 6:23
We live back then!family was the best willing entertain in the home, cocktail party's , more fun and optimistic.❤
@darrenmorrison4335 That's why they called it "The Good Life". The Middle Class ruled America!
The “4K” being the superimposed backgrounds on the grainy, antique footage 😎
@@lads.7715 Good Eye!
3:47 Omigosh, I had a pair of Roller Derby Street Kings. From watching Roller Derby. Black, even though it was supposed to be White For Girls/Black For Boys. I didn't want to field the gripes I would get after the white wore off! Gee, I wore the heck out of those skates. I bet I skated up and down every hill from Scammel to St Joe's Hospital.
Car taillights like outer space rockets! I miss those big old elaborate boats.
Not the hair thanks
I have some of those folding binoculars
the it’s always sunny music
I love the colors!
Wow! Great MCM representation, here! Love the tunes, too. I commend you on a well thought out video!
Can you make more
Love this video, thanks for the rundown 😊
I love this video!!!
Thank you. I enjoyed this very much. I’m thinking about how much my family would have enjoyed this. In 1967 we went on vacation to “Expo 67” in Montreal. There was a concept apartment block called “Habitat” on display. Very Kool! I cannot describe it. There is probably something about it on the internet. I grew up in a 1920 bungalow, but we had, and I saw a lot of MCM stereos, TVs, ashtrays, it was found in humble apartments, and houses. The Bert Kaempfert and David Rose music was on advertisements and “bumpers” between TV shows. I just took it for granted. One of my uncles had a new T-bird every other year. Great video, thanks.
Iasip music
Some mid century modern is timeless design. This video shows us a lot of kitsch.
Nailed the music with great memories of what the future would become, well it's here,,,,,not so great.
Dick Dale
i fw this heavy
my parents watched this at night what do i do
And made with good strong lumber, not the cheap weak stuff like today.
The Princess phone! Now it's the Karen phone.
kool daddyo
perfect
Joli . Joyeux . Merci .
Marvelous. We didn't know how well we had it. Miss it dearly.
I have the funny looking Space Motel card you showed in the middle. I picked it up last weekend!
Boomer stimboard
And there is a lot of this design turning up these days as if it is NEW. New for peope who dont know the history of their own grand parents.
Love it! It reminds me of a simpler but more exciting time to live. The colors and shapes and designs were so dreamlike. Even the music, Les Brown and his Band of Reknowns, Les Baxter, and Martin Denny, the jet age cars, It was a nice background for a turbulent time.
Fun video. I'll bet few people these days know what the 2 "CD" symbols meant on the radio dials. (But I'm sure glad I don't feel the need to put on a suit and tie to go visiting friends these days.) 😁
I grew up with a lot of this. I though it was all crap - but some good design. I look around today - all crap with a bit of good design. Nothing changed except the technology.
…boomer stimboard??
12:59
hell yeah
I appreciate the social progress of the modern era, but I sure miss the style and music of Mid-Century.
the timestamp you're looking for is 12:48
My house was built in the 1930s I paid 91k for it last year it is a 4 bedroom house to bathrooms a down stairs room that I turned into a man cave I have a pool table and a mini bar down there I am not old enough to drink I am 12 years old my family all passed away my mom was the last to pass away and she left me a huge inheritance so I moved to ND with a family friend who has always been in my family's life and he took me in and we got the house and the house is beautiful it has three garages and it is two stories I love to play the bass guitar so I am going to turn one of the rooms into a music room and ya we also have solar now and we make extra money off of the solar by selling some of it back to the electric company I am liveing like a king but I still miss my mom I rather have her back then have this house or the money not that I am not thankful it's just if I had to pick I would pick my mom I loved her so much I still get sad everyday because I miss her so much but I know I will see her again I have faith in my Jesus Christ and I know I will see her again but I am still sad because I will never see her here on earth again.
The music is so out of place on this video.
Makes you wonder how many items your parents and/or grandparents owned that they took for granted, threw out when downsizing, and the rare surviving duplicates will one day be sought after by collectors and museums for being worth tens of thousands of dollars if not millions.
