Honestly I feel for Kirat. I was with someone irl for 6 yrs, only to find out how much of a liar he is, how much he never loved me, and how much i'm not "his type".

Something is very wrong with the family dynamics. It’s almost like an ongoing historic family feud between two branches of the same family. Based on my assumption Kirat’s family seem to be perceived in the SA community to be more reputable hence the takedown by Simran. I think initially it was a covert way Simran remained in Kirats life. But something happened in year 8 -10. An unwed daughter living at home in her late 30s is not a good look for a SA family. I feel Simran became vindictive to embarrass Kirats immediate family motived by the larger feud. I think Kirats family are lovely and have no understanding of her bs excuse that the SA community put pressure on her to marry etc. For her to be living at home in her 30s not getting engaged to Bobby until she’s about 38 does not example any pressure. Her lack of culpability, when she has no one to blame, the SA community are at fault. This makes her an unlikeable victim.

I agree that it took way to long for Kirat to see this was a lie. You keep saying 9 yrs, 9yrs when Kirat said it was only the last maybe 3 yrs that they became close & had contact often. She said at the beginning they would pop in & out of each others lives & something 6mos went by without a msg between them. Simran set up a elaborate FB scheme with up to 60 fake profiles who would interact with other ppl, communicate with each other & some with Kirat. There were photoshopped pics & even videos where Bobby was not in view & stolen video from Bobby's real profile & other stuff like that. Nobody who think anybody would go so far so even if there was tinges of doubt the profiles looking legitimate would quell some of it. I think the community Kirat was in played a role. Kirat seemed very lonely & isolated. Having friends would of course have led to them telling her something is not right. Ppl like Simran choose their victims because they are vulnerable & trusting. Kirat clung to Bobby, a possible marriage, his relatives & even the kid as an escape from her lonely life. She looks like a sweet girl & this should have never happened to her. My heart breaks for her especially after it became psycological torture. That can leave scars forever. I think that ppl are so hard on Kirat because after all that happened she shows no introspection & little to no growth. She does not get that this was a type of folie a deux & without some mental break in herself she would have seen it was all lies. I hope she gets therapy. Simran is dangerous & needs to be in a mental institution. She said she escalated things & got abusive so Kirat would break it off. As if it was not easier to just send Kirat a msg saying " It was all lies. Im sorry." & blocked her or even just ghost. No she rather create death scenarios & Witness Protection & coercive control & abuse. She was enjoying the control she had over Kirats life & wanted tonsee how far she could push her. This could have led to her death.

Is this doc worth watching? I have it on list but quite unsure after watching the trailer couple of times… thoughts?

Your guys’ thoughts changed my perspective of Kirat and how much of a victim she actually is. Its so easy (imo) to expose Simran in this day and age but she still choses not to (legal case or not). She hides so much information under the guise of shame and community even at her age, even after whatever happened. If someone stole 9 of my child-bearing years, you best believe i’d go full expose on them. I believe she can’t do that because in the same token, she would expose how equally she chose to be this relationship and how much of an idiot she was

All skills that are presented in her videos are either learn since young from her grandfather or grandmother & additional skills needed will go approach those masters learning from them for a few months before filming the videos.

Basically Kirat doesn’t want people to think she’s dumb, she doesn’t want to believe that. We’re not saying she is but it’s what things can do to you, loneliness and emotional needs can make fog your judgement and a lot of the times you don’t actively realize but subconsciously you don’t want anything to be wrong even when you do get a feeling this is suspicious… like if he’s not real then what? When the brain can’t make it out it rather stick to what makes you happy…

For clarification, VP at a bank is just a fancy title thrown around in that industry. It basically means moderate work experience with minimal supervision. It’s not in any way similar to a real VP of a corporation.

I'm just thinking how Kirat didn't think why Simran met Bobby before her when he was meant to be in a relationship with Kirat! It's also the fact how Simran knew so much and became very invested in the situation in a strang way . I think in 2011 cat fishing was way ahead of it's time and this is not to defend Kirat but the fact the cat fisher knew the people Kirat knew in real life allowed her to manipulate those around her online and in real life. As well as the fact she pretended to be 60 different people online. This means she must have stalked and stolen 60 people's profiles to carry this out, especially over the span of 10 years, which is astonishing!!! I could not think what the motivation behind Simran's actions are and we will never know until she says anything, if she ever does!!!

This part was very interesting to me 41:00 stating that the energy she gives to Bobby was so extreme as a possibly husband even though he was a friend. I didn’t think about it when I watched the documentary but it is spot on. A few other points were quite annoying such as your cohost constant mentioning Bobby was married and the crying over JRK assassination would be something strange for a person to do because they didn’t know him personally?? That was a weird comparison

There's one huge point I haven't heard mentioned. If she wasn't suspicious or already aware that lies were being told why wasn't Kirat surprised that Bobby could TALK when he opened the door? Wouldn't that have been a bigger deal than whether he had multiple phones and a huge hint that he wasn't 'her' Bobby?!

That comment at 1:32:33 is definitely a family member of Simran. I won’t be surprised if that’s the angle her defence argue. Simran should just issue a public apology and put her evil genius mind to good use. She is a fascinating character no doubt and will be studied for years to come.

From what I remember Simran used to have conversations with her mum and as a doctor with her other younger cousin. None of the 3 raised suspicions over the voices so I really wouldn’t be surprised if Simran used an app to disguise her voice. I think it’s pretty clear Simran is not a close blood relative but as they are in the same community they mingle like cousins. Not sure how this presenter can’t understand that. I think the potential of ending up with Bobby was a big deal because he’s very attractive and Kirat in her delulu ignored the red flags, something most girls can put their hands up to. I know I did. But basically Simran is a f’d up women who did this for kicks. She made a complete fool out of an already melodramatic personality and thoroughly enjoyed the power trip.

I really want to understand things from Simrans POV like what was the reason for all of this? Does she hate her? Is she in love with her? Like I think that’s what would have made the ending good if we got to hear from her.
