Got the Same bike yes they are heavy you have to counter steer, make sure you are in the right gear for your bends ,very nice to ride 👍
I'm in the middle of trying to solve the same problem. I love the simplicity of your idea. Thanks. What are the dimensions of the steering dampener? Stroke length? Part number?
@@400chevlc sorry bro I don’t know that. Nor still have the bike to measure. I can tell you I brought it off a bloke who said it come off a GSXR 1000.
in the process of doing this myself, glad to have the assembly instructions to go with now!
Yes, he’s back on the tube! Your a bloody mechanical wizard, get that 450 revving!
That's not a k5. CB 125k5 is a twin.
@@TheBardicPoet it’s been a while I’m sure I pulled two pistons out of that thing. 🤷🏼♂️
It rumbles nice 😊
First fix the zwo screws in the back, then lift up the motor
Will you also make a video where you put everything back together?
@@cobra52369 yeah bud. I’m putting it together at the moment. 👍🏼 stay tuned.
Use Shindengen rectifire !not ebay crap !
Would you be able to post a video mounting the cams in the cylinder head? Also very helpful video!
@@emilandersen9414 sorry I missed that bro. I’m working on another engine at the moment and will be sure to capture that process. Stay tuned. 👍🏼👍🏼
@@justaride1474 Will do!
Noooooo do not use tools to take out the cables. Jeez
I just scored a 2000 SP1 with under 10,000 km and it has not been molested

Could I ask u how long tha Ebay kit lasted u good video

I got the:poff!when i pressed the starter button.Read that the stator can cause this.
Great video man!
Brilliant mate thank you 👍
@@pigeon-uc9wo no worries mate. Happy you got something from it. 👍🏼
This video has a certain irony for me. I am in the UK and own a Honda CBF1OOO, which has a detuned fireblade engine. It is currently in for replacement of failed stator and rectifier. Apparently when one of them goes it caused the other to fail. Good video.
@@dezmondwhitney1208 whether it’s detuned or not. “Just one problem” with these engines. Knowledge is power. 👍🏼👍🏼
@@justaride1474 From what I can see, a motorbike battery is small and tries to keep the electrical system going. With all the anti pollution add ons enforced upon nore modern bikes combined with extra electronics; even HISS and EFI, it just seems to put extra strain on the electrics so they wear out. Maybe that has something to do with it? I am not sure but maybe.
B4 u buy make sure u do the voltage tests. Charge battery fire it up see if its giving voltage charge should be above 13volts showing charging. If it is then chk weak battery? Otherwise voktage drops means no charge then chk stator ir rectifyer. Illuminate b4 u spend.
to be honest...i watched ur whole video waiting for the part where you do the timing and you didn't show it😢...good video man
Sorry man. Couldn’t advise the purchase of a workshop manual enough mate. It’s all laid out clearly in there. 👍🏼
@@justaride1474 no stress understandable just looking elsewhere for timing...im sure ill find it
Lovely to listen to all the negatives about Harley but i will leave you with one comment and that is it takes a man to ride a Harley it certainly isn’t for the faint hearted or the sports temporaries that i see on the road or in the guard rails when I’m out riding .
My CBR1000RR fire blade has recently decided to stop working …will crank but not fire . I’ve found it has no ground to the coil packs . Can anyone recommend how or what I need to do to get it back up and running ??
Dude liked it and didn’t give any advice 😅

Hi, I have a 1996 rrt SC33 UK model. 30,000 miles it's done. It's mint. I've owned it for 13 years I've recently changed the rectifier as it was getting very hot. I bought a usb / voltmeter display/ cigarette lighter thing that connects to the battery via a fuse. (It's very useful) I've housed in on the H frame and it sits perfectly. When not running it displays 12.4 volts and 5 amps. And when running it displays 14.4 volts and 5 amps. So all is well yes? Anyways... The bike runs beautifully but the stator area does get very hot even before the engins casings. Are 1996 fireblades problematic too? Should I get another ? Best regards. see my ch a. N n el perhaps?
The volts and amps seem to me to be good numbers. The heat coming off it is a bit weird. But you are in the uk! A left foot warmer maybe. 😂👍🏼
Mate this video is a fakn god send, thank ya!
No worries mate. Happy to be of some help. 👍🏼
I don't have any experience of this particular engine but it seems to me that it would be easier to turn it upside down and insert the gearbox shafts in the top half correctly aligned with the shift forks and drum?
Good call. Keep watching. 😉
Surely there should be some sealant between the cases. I have seen gaskets or just sealant but never just the material together. That will leak.
I made my 22 year old FB Into a show bike. it’s a carburetor w/5 speed. My other HD is a fuel injection 6 speed. It’s VERY FAST. SCARY FAST.
merci pour ce beau projet !
Iv replaced my stator and my rectifier so why my battery still going flat please help ots so frustrating
The battery will to be replaced as well. I’d say you have cooked the arse out of it when the last stator/rec went.
My first bike was an ‘07 650S, would’ve been a great track bike for sure!
nice looking ass bro thanks for the view
good to see it on track!
Love the videos, just started riding back in October. 05 sv650s is my first bike. Any tips for maintaining this bike? I didn’t grow up around motorcycles. Keep the videos coming 🤘
Thanx for the support. Mate I too didn’t grow up round moto’s. Don’t be scared to turn a tool. Fluids are the most important thing. Keep an eye on oil and coolant levels. 👍🏼
Hi, just watched this motor removal vid . My motor is now out of warranty so going to do a bearing replacement and internal service. I was mainly looking for the battery connection removal but your information was very interesting, somewhat cringy watching you struggling. Thanks for taking the time to produce the video. I’m in Manchester UK & riding a Nukeproof Megawatt.
I bought my 16yo son a 2017 MT03 for Christmas, just gone, for $4k on finance, paying it off at $32 a week next 4 years, He just past his Learner bike Licence here in New Zealand. I have a 2007 Blade, Yes the Blade feels heavier , but no more heavier than if i go to the super market on his bike and fill up a back pack to ride home with. Honestly, I think this is the last of the pure FireBlades, minimal electronics, no fly-by-wire bs etc, as utterly ridable, responsive and controllable if you dont want to wind it open. If you do want to wind it open, prepare for it to want to lauch you to the moon with that front wheel coming up!
Total agree mate. Last of the real bikes. No AI interference. Ps you’re a rad dad. 👍🏼👍🏼
@@justaride1474 Thanks mate, loving binging on your content. You just excited my passion to find a VTR, SP1or SP2 watching that video. Well done!
No Harleys are not as quick or as fast as those crotch rocket bikes. But those are for children. And trust me they go plenty fast enough. It’s like having a nice big fancy classy full-size Ford truck and a guy in a Ferrari says those trucks aren’t fast. Will get in one of those trucks and put that pedal to the ground and see how long before you’re back your foot off. They like Harleys are definitely fast enough.
Thanks for comment mate. You said it well in the opener of that. “Harleys are not quick or fast…..” And to liken a motorcycle to a truck!!! It’s clear to me we see it differently bro. 👍🏼
bike looks like a hunchback on steroids
That’d be the fish eye lens of camera. In real life it’s not that way. 👌🏼

Hi! , I need contact you. Please can you give me any contact.
Hi nice video and build! Any tips how i could do my own steering damper mount on my SVN? Tried to do it by using simple 90 degree brackets but does not do the job.
I’d say once you have the fork leg bracket you have a few options. Mounted off the frame, the headstem. Top triple clamp. 🤷🏼♂️ But that fork leg bracket is most important. I got mine off eBay. 👍🏼👍🏼
@@justaride1474 Thank you so much for the quick reply. Would you sell me a Bracket like the one you did for your bike? Best regards Ace
www.ebay.com.au/itm/384413658508 That’s the fork leg bracket you will need. The mount is easily made. A scrap piece of 2mm metal bent in 90’ right angles. Twice to produce a u shape. Drill the necessary holes and you are golden. A bench vice and a hammer is all you need. 👍🏼👍🏼
great work! feel your pain brother but so worth it to get her done
Been a busy boy.🎉
Good to see you back on the Tube! What happened to the Merida??
Needs a new back wheel. One has been ordered. 👍🏼
Anything else about the 919/fireblade to be aware of? There is a pristine on near me for a really good price. FYI, I raced an SV for a while. Mine was older (1st gen) but a great bike to race. I had raced GSXR750's for a while and got to old for them 😁. I remember a 15yo Nicky Hayden (RIP) riding around the outside of me in T1 at Road Atlanta regional club race like I was chained to a stump. 100% class act also as even at 15 he pulled in on the white flag lap as to not steal the glory from the club racers. He was a diff level even then and it was just memorizing to watch him.
That’s a hell of a tale bro. Love it. Rip 69! That’s the only problem with the mighty Hondas. 👍🏼
