ഭാവഗായകൻ Jayachandran passed away at the age of 80. He has sung more than 16000 songs in different languages.
P. Jayachandran wasa renowned Indian playback singer primarily known for his contributions to Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu cinema. Born on March 3, 1944, in Kerala, he is often referred to as the "Bhava Gayakan" (singer of emotions) for his ability to evoke deep feelings through his melodious voice.
Jayachandran made his debut in playback singing in 1965 with the Malayalam film Kunjali Marakkar. Over his illustrious career, he has won several awards, including National Film Awards and Kerala State Film Awards, for his exceptional singing. Some of his most iconic songs include Ragam Sreeragam, Pranasakhi, and Sankara Narayana.
Apart from his film career, he has also sung devotional and classical songs, earning immense respect in the music industry. Known for his humility and artistic brilliance, he remains a celebrated figure in Indian music.
