I really love the new Detachments. Only started Tau this year and half of my stuff is kroot and now it really does something outside of the hunting pack and it looks super fun :D Ps: I am excited for any new content in the upcoming, maybe another round against blood angels with some new shiny rules on both sides :)

GW (GreaterGood’s Wisdom) finally remembered what our faction is about! The Fanatical Convert and Admired Leader rules are going to get HEAVY use from me not just because they are great rules but because they line up perfectly with my homebrew lore. Can’t wait for my Farstalkers to have chainswords and the rampager are going to be insane!

I always liked mixing kroot in with my Farsight Enclaves to make a surprisingly choppy Tau list. This allows me to do that better than the Kroot Hunting Pack.

Hey man! Just found your channel today and love the content sofar. I picked up my first sets of 40k within the past month, the combat patrol and just got the retaliation cadre set, along with a box of crisis suits and cant wait to get them built and painted. Ive always been a fan of Tau but never had the money to invest in warhammer. Anyways, love the content!

love the video. curious, how does the semicircle formations get around the unit coherency rule for being within 2 inches of 2 models? ive only played 3 games and terribly so i dont know things yet. edit: how did the blood angels termies get through that tight spot? i didnt know they could, so that could be useful for me if im not as stuck as i sometimes think i am

Either Farsight, Auxiliaries, or Tanks. Tanks would require a new model, Auxiliaries would be nice with a new model drop or even just a Cadian Gue’vesa upgrade sprue, Farsight would be nice but seems a bit redundant with the aggressive detachment that we already have.

My number one choice would be an Auxiliary detachment we definitely need some more species on the table such as Nicassar, Vrogh or some sort of power armor Gua’Vasa. My second choice would be a O’kais army of one detachment

Since they put Longstrike into legends, I have hoped they would make a modern model for him(maybe with a unique hammerhead). But it is also possible that it was a clue that nothing more will be done for Tau tanks, as they lost the most prominent character to lead such a force. Stealth would be nice. I want non-epic characters that can join Pathfinders. I want any form for character that can join Stealth Suits. And getting a detachment would go a long way towards that. The issue here is, Kauyon is kind of doing several of the things a stealth detachment would do, and I have no idea what their detachment rule would be(Mont'ka already has early mobility, Retaliation has close range fire power). A true auxillary detachment would be awesome. Give me a mix of Kroot, Vespids, Demiurges(leagues of votann), fully integrated with the Army rule in some way. I kind of dont want imperial guard units, since the humans that fight as part of the Tau would probably wear Tau equipment. This detachment would also make sense due to the new Vespids being added(currently, they have next to no interaction with any of the current detachments).

Id be fine with both. I like the tau tanks because i think that the other playstyle identity for tau (other than the battlesuits) is speed and giant railguns (main reason i got into tau). The tanks and aircraft are the only things that satisfy that. I also like the idea of the stealth detachment as the stealth suits are cool as well.

I agree, I think a Tau empire detachment would be really cool. It could be Infantery-focused, which helps, Tau, Kroot, and Vespids, supporting that union theme.

I don't understand all the hate for the T'au Battleforce box. I am new to the army, I have a few models I have built and painted the entire Kroot Hunting Pack + New Farsight, and a Strike Squad. I have a few other complimentary models in my pile of shame but this box would really build up my army. I guess it does have the lowest point value of any box and it does advertise 11 models but GW themselves don't look at drones as anything more than tokens now, but it does provide a discount to those looking to build out the battlesuit portion of their army. I agree with most that it should have been something a bit more well rounded, but I guess in my unique situation it is a worthwhile buy.

I bought it at 10% discount, I have a 15 year old tau army, all of my army is still very current looks wise aside from the giant mechs… this box set really works for me and they’re starting to sell out so I’d say they’re suiting a lot of other people too

I think these boxes are meant for those who want to start a new army. Like me, I was never interested in T'au (indoctrinated by the imerpium lol) but this is very tempting. i want to buy 3 boxes and will just supliment with crisis suits. 3 ghosts inserted at the mid for each objectives and 3 riptides running to each midboard objectives to hold and clear, supported by 3 broadsides at the rear. 3 crisis units with 3 commanders (maybe 2 enforcer and 1 coldstar) moving around the board and may adjust to add either farsight or shadowsun depending on points. probably not the most ideal list but sounds fun to me :D

Adding in a couple squads.. a pathfinder and a strike force and a squad or two of kroot and a squad or two of Crisis suits.. alongside this box.. (which I already bought) and you would have a pretty healthy start.

A pack of Crisis suits in the box would've fleshed it out perfectly

I know others will already say it but.. c'mon.. who in their right minds glues weapons to crisis suits? (Besides someone new to the hobby) Magnets are absolutely essential for these units.

I dont do Warhammer i only watch for the lore And one key detail is that tau have clean tech more fast paced small fighting And the marines or the empires have very slow but powerful tech

Is this Kais the same dude from Fire Warrior? Unless he was in stasis for over a century, tau don’t live that long. An average lowborn human can see 6 generations of tau

So lets just say that I have crisis suits that I bought by themselves and a devilfish as well And the OG box with a ghost keel. Even if I double up on ghosts this box would be a pretty good asset if paired with something like some pathfinders and farsight?

Personally I would make him a Ghostkeel with experimental Burst cannons on the shoulders with two weapon profiles and a fusion collider. Maybe give him a chance to come back on death for extra fun.

I have always wanted him on the tabletop. he is mentioned as one of the 3 of Puretide's pupils so why isnt he in game. i love the rules but i really think he needs to have his own battlesuit. i dont want him to look like Shadowsun clone. How about using the Ghostkeel chasis but have more weapon varieties.
