I’m really looking forward to seeing more of the “important”dolls from the first one. I know they’re seemingly trying to do something new, and I have to say at least the gameplay is much more engaging, but I so far don’t get the same vibes as the first. I’m very attached to DEFY, Anti-Rain and 404.
Same! I'm not sure how long the time gap between gfl1 and gfl2 is yet but I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and what happened to them.
Welcome to the Internet.
Thanks for playing my game! -1 lives bug is very interesting, I'll fix it :)
Thanks for making a cool game! Yeah I found the -1 lives bug really funny. Behold my QA powers at work >:D
@lordgeneric sorry, I fixed it. No more fun!
Oh man. 1 smelter trying it's hardest to process 4x it's capacity. Off to a good start, I see.
It's okay the smelter told me it loves working overtime. It's loyal to the company and I promised to give it a very good end of year review if it can get its numbers up.
I wish I could catch these live. 25 minutes in and I caught myself trying to type, "toggle off straight mode." lol
Don't worry, one day you'll catch it live. And on that day humanity will receive a grim reminder that I KNOW straight mode is on and refuse to turn it off.
batman might not kill but those guys wil never walk again. or eat solid foods.
I wonder if he's gonna like it? *Sees timestamp.* Oh... this gonna be good.
I have spent the last two days cursing myself for playing this on stream because it means I can't play it off stream. It is probably a good thing I played this on stream and not off stream.

There actually isn't licensed music :) They made the setting so streamers wouldn't fear of "Can I have the music on?" :D
Oh good to know! That's a funny solution, but very effective. The exact kind of thing I'd expect people who made a game like this to think of.
Ha ha, that is such a ficsit solution to a problem.
My rolls are a disaster.....
Cringe, I wish cancer like this would stop being recommended

this brought me a laugh for no reason, thank you 😭💪👍
Me too 🥲
I feel like you're mirroring what that AK player CC said which I honestly think is a bit dishonest. There is an "inciting incident or motivation." And it's established early on, that is RECOVERING YOUR MEMORIES. And that's not hard to understand from the get go because the scenes and dialogue always alludes to that. Even the scene with the crownless where they "show and not tell" how the pangu terminal works, what TD's are, and what Waveworn phenomenas are. Spoiler, but even Yinlin's quest is a way to regain memories. The inciying incident has always been there. You just chose to ignore it. The earlier act invluding Jinhsi giving you the token as clues made sure about that as well. She gave you the tokens as a cryptic message to make sure YOU are the prophesized rover. The people aren't just talking at you and you're not doing anything. And no, there's a reason to care about what they say . Chixia took you to a "date" exactly because you don't know the place and she's there to introduce you. People has an idea of your importance even in Act I-II due to a prophecy involving a rover similar to you. It was even established when we met Jue on the Gorges of the Spirit. Or when Jinhsi was expecting us due to the said memories. It feels grounded, why? Because the people around us act as if we're an amnesiac which we are! People fawning over the Rover is an over-exaggeration. Even during the beginning, while they did not go with the CBT 1 way where Chixia points a gun at us. Baizhi was cautious at first, remember when she and Youtan sensed our aura to check if we may be of danger? There's a reason they look up to you (edpecially Jinhsi) in a certain way because of the prophecy. You're not just a random someone. Even Baizhi and the rest realized how important you are when you absorbed the crownless, an overlord/calamity class TD. She even said that, someone absorbing a TD is not unprecedented but is very rare. There are issues on the pacing. But people are exaggerating the issues as if AK and Genshin did miles better im the beginning. Hell, even us fishing Paimon and camping for 2 months on the shores near Monstadt doesn't make any logical sense. The writing follows what people call the rule of 3. 3 Acts to establish a slow and meandering starting point until the audience realize the story is picking up. You know which anime did the same slow and meandering, almost boring start? Frieren. I'm not trying to glaze over WuWa. It's just that it's a bit disingenuous to portray WuWa's story as being far worse that the same slow and meandering starting point of Genshin and Arknights. Not to kention that the problems you've mentioned either exist or are even worse in Arknights and Genshin as well. But one think that WW does better compared to say Genshin is that the narrative is still rooted to the main plot. That is, recovering you memory. The entire Act is about that. In Genshin? The only relevant plot points are the questions you get to ask after every archon quest and when you meet deinsleiff. Helping mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, are cool but absolutely irrelevant to the main plot that is Aether looking for Lumine. The main plot in Genshin is an after thought. In WuWa, it is either the highlight or it is alluded to even for side quests like Yinlin's.
I'm not familiar with the AK player CC. But I'm happy to hear how others see the story! Frieren is an interesting comparison point, I adored how it started but for whatever reason really bounced off Wuwa's start. And I do agree Genshin's plot really just poofed away as soon as it could.
In Wuthering Waves, the inciting incident is *YOU* Your arrival in their world sets off everything else that follows. The thing is in Wuthering Waves, Rover is basically the second coming of Jesus but without his memories. People who know their ancient history know Rover is special because they know about "the first coming" Rover's core motivation is that they want to find out more about why they're here, their purpose, and to learn more about the things happening around them. Also, the prophesized return of the Threnodians, who are essentially humankind's natural enemy and antithesis, is another major factor that shapes the events that occur.
The story does seem to very heavily lean into prophecy as a core element. Which is interesting as when I see prophecies in stories it's almost always to subvert said prophecy in some way. So we'll have to see how Wuwa approaches that.
Basically wuwa's MC is like jesus he send to solaris-3 before (maybe more than once) to do what he made to do for example he helped Jue to build Jinzhou and there is some hints about he was also part of fractidus before he is basically shaping the story for the godesses(the girl in the trailer idk if she count as one) like trailblazer he given a role and he has to play it
You can blame the cn players for the plot being akin to that of a typical isekai power fantasy anime. Afaik, the beta was different wherein Yangyang and Chixia were actually slightly cautious towards us initially instead of just being friends right away. That was until cn playerbase complained about it because it hurt their feelings or something along those lines. Truly a nation with a glass heart. Anyways, typical cn stories often overexposit instead of cutting to the chase. Arknights and Genshin are no exception to this. Although I say this, purple prose can be a good thing if done right and at the right time. Another issue would be the poor localization and bad voice direction (atleast for the en side). There doesn't need to be so many technical terms being shoved down our throats this early in the game's plot. It also doesnt help that there's an abundance of chinese terms that REALLY should have been localized for each language. In regards to voice acting, it's not necessarily the voice actors that are bad, but whoever the voice director is either needs to step up their game, or better yet replaced.. The line delivery in more than a few scenes needs to be redone. Lastly, this game's story would highly benefit from more "show" and less "tell"; Genshin and Arknights included. The silver lining in all of this is that Kurogames has been pretty proactive about these issues and has promised changes come 1.1 and hopefully beyond that too if more issues arise. Passionate devs are everything we can really ask for, and I have a good feeling they won't disappoint us.
I hope the game gets that chance to really shine! I think the extremely long info dump at the beginning soured me. And it hasn't managed to snag me back yet. But the foundation of the gameplay is so solid that there's so much room to grow.
Kinda disengenious. WuWa is actually very self-aware on having a protagonist - they came before so thay are historically known, and now they remember only a glimpce, enogh to figure that they are special, and learn more about it but in a limited way. There is a lot happeining in the background between factions that make us wonder (and many simp for Scar, the villain). There ARE hooks, and pretty great ones. The only problem was with characters assembling for final battle before it feels like we know them enough to know how cool it is. The rest is very well done. One factor that we should note is generally being tired of games and stories and especially intos, as they need to take their time to establish the base of worldbuilding before using that in creative and exciting ways. And there are A LOT of such creative concepts shown already. It's fine if the setting or style of into doesn't suit someone's taste, you can't appeal to everyone, but that does not mean it's not appealing in general. It's cool and well polished.
I've seen so much Scar simping, good for them tbh. I'm glad to hear you've really enjoyed the story! I bounced off most of it, but the gameplay and setting's got enough juice that I plan on sticking around and seeing how it develops for sure.
Adding to this, Aether/Lumine/The Doctor is their own character instead of just a self insert. Especially the Doctor, imo. I dont wanna spoil too much, but a LOT of things in the story in AK is gonna relate back to the Doctor in some way. A lot of character respects him, because he has a really really good tactical sense. When he is the commander of an operation, the characters involved knows that shit is going down, but they know that they have the best chance to make it out alive if the Doctor is at the helm leading the operation. But not everyone likes him, even among allies, because of one reason or another. Either because of his past, what he did before his amnesia, or the current Doctor. I could tell more, but it'd be spoilers.
As a fellow Arknights player, I agree! Doctor is fantastic and needs that extremely slow burn. For like the first 2 years of the game Doctor just kind of existed while other things took the lead and kept the players interest.
Bro forgot that crowbars a e melee wepons
I apologize, I was unfamiliar with homeboys game.
There is an item that gives you armor and increases by a small amount as long as you have armor on and stacks with the dress. So secondary hp pool increases.
I see, good to know! I've a bad habit of trading hits so it's likely not the best for my style. But that's a very strong item for those who want it.
Here is some Jobs I like in this game I like the characters Default Jobs but if I had to change that I will mostly change Ichibans Job from hero to the really crappy starter Job he gets at the very beginning Freelancer and then back to hero but for the rest I would keep at default until I would change them just to see what it's like with the other Jobs
I'm leaning towards sticking with the default jobs for most characters myself! I went through the previous game mostly using default jobs, so I plan on trying out the other jobs more. But Kiryu for sure I'll be locking back into Dragon of Dojima as it's just so classic and strong for him.
This game looks pretty interesting. Thanks for playing, I could really get a good idea about the game by watching. Edit:steel balls seem really good though, do you know what counters them besides air?
I'm thrilled to hear! Steel Balls are tough to counter, they're very good once they get upgrades. My main thoughts are that they suck at level 1, and rely on snowballing to get levels. Early Missiles can be worth it just to shut down the balls from getting EXP. After that, besides air you'll need some chaff units like Fangs or Crawlers to distract them and something with both high damage and good fire rate. So Marksmen will be too slow to take out all the balls, but an upgraded Melting Point with range might burn down the high level balls well. Or a Hacker can force the other balls to keep turning around to target their hacked friend.
