    I love this video. I have a question for you. What specific factors are most important to you when choosing a master's program? (e.g., program curriculum, location, cost, faculty)

    • @thebilingualmd
      @thebilingualmd หลายเดือนก่อน

      When choosing a master’s program, it’s crucial to consider factors such as the relevance of the curriculum to your career goals, the program's location and associated living costs, and the overall cost including tuition and financial aid options. Additionally, evaluate the faculty’s expertise and reputation, the program’s placement rates and career services, and opportunities for research and internships. Consider the class size, the program's format and length, and the strength of the alumni network. Ensure that the program’s culture and fit align with your personal and professional values.

    How important do you think the GRE is in the application process for these programs?

    • @thebilingualmd
      @thebilingualmd หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some programs require the GRE as part of their admissions process, while others do not. Many programs have moved toward a more holistic review process, but For highly competitive or research-focused programs, a strong GRE score might still be an important factor, helping to differentiate applicants with similar qualifications.

      @thebilingualmd 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) offers electives, but they are not free. Besides that, I don't know of any other places in Alabama. However, you can apply these tips for finding opportunities: 1. Reach out to local hospitals or clinics in your area and inquire about volunteer or internship opportunities. Sometimes, these institutions offer elective positions to students free of charge in exchange for their time and assistance. 2. Explore online platforms and databases that specialize in medical electives and externships. Websites like AMO (American Medical Opportunities) or GME (Global Medical Education) often list elective opportunities, including some that may be free or low-cost. 3. Network with medical professionals, alumni, or faculty members from your medical school. They may have connections or insights into elective opportunities that are not widely advertised. 4. Consider reaching out to community health centers, public health departments, or non-profit organizations that focus on healthcare. They may offer elective positions aimed at medical students interested in serving underserved populations, and these opportunities may be more affordable or even free of charge." I hope this helps!

      Yes, international medical graduates (IMGs) without medical residency in the US can apply for the ACN license in Florida. However, you typically need to meet specific eligibility criteria set by the Florida Department of Health, which may include completing your medical education and training, obtaining certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), and fulfilling any additional requirements related to practicing medicine in underserved areas or critical need specialties. It's essential to review the specific requirements outlined by the Florida Department of Health for accurate guidance on eligibility and application procedures.

      Not, you must completed an approved residency of at least 2 years in one specialty area . For more info: flboardofmedicine.gov/licensing/medical-doctor-unrestricted/

    So its for US-IMGs, since they need a permanent resident of Colorado anyway. Not for non-US IMGs

    I didn't know this info. Since, Colorado isn't a popular state as NY or Florida. Thank you for the info.

      Hello, all ECFMG services are temporarily unavailable until January 16th as they are launching a new platform. I highly recommend that you contact them and check what happened with your application after January 16th.

    "I am a first-year medical student studying at a non-ECFMG accredited college, and I don't think it will be accredited. I aspire to pursue the U.S. medical equivalence. Is the solution just to create an account on the ECFMG platform and obtain an ID?"

      Are you referring to the fact that your school is not listed in wdoms website, or not accredited by wfme? In 2024 you can still be accredited if its latter. However, if its the first one, then it would be quite difficult. Actually I know a person who managed to get his school accredited even after he graduated from med school and unfortunately he was ready to give step 1 at that time then realized his school was not accredited , he has to wait more then 1 year to have his school complete accreditation and then give usmle step 1. One other option is to transfer to another school that is accredited. I am sorry, it is a difficult situation.

      If you are US IMGs, refugees and more type of imgs, you can apply. Non us img may ask if they have other type of options. The creator of this video attached the link of the official website. You might ask them directly.
