มุมมอง 7472 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Manu o Kū, also known as the White Fairy Tern, found near Oʻahu's south shore, has a huge influence on our newest transit system: Skyline. See our Deputy Director Jon Nouchi talk about the history of how the Skyline name came to be, and how the Manu o Kū influenced that decision and future branding of the system.

Riding Skyline Episode 2: About Your HOLO Card
Happy Birthday Skyline!!! Here's to a bright multimodal future!
Please restore the bus HOLO card readers to proper working order. Thank you!
awesome ! goodbye traffic & hello skyline - at last an above traffic public transportation solution - big mahalo to all the people that made this happen and work on it to continue future success!
Let’s hope that the manu o ku weren’t nesting in all of those 100 year old kamani tress that hart cut down on Dillingham.
“Skyline. That is now the official name for Honolulu’s rail system, which is set to welcome passengers in two weeks. With that name, city officials hope to bring in a new era and a new image to the much-maligned project. The city said the naming process took about five years. There was a lot of brainstorming and getting reactions from focus groups. At the time there weren’t a lot of positive things to say about the project. With the price tag now at 10 billion dollars and years delayed, the city is expressing hope for a new era as the Skyline opens its first phase on June 30. City officials said they considered calling it ‘The Train,’ just like TheBus. ‘The resounding sentiment there was if you’re going to spend billions of dollars, you cannot call it the train do better,’ said Jon Nouchi, Department of Transportation Services deputy director. Nouchi said Hawaiian names were also considered like Hoku and Ilima. But in the end, after city officials rode the train, Skyline was the most fitting. ‘Hopefully it also will take away this connotation, negative connotation,’ said Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi.“ khon2 6/16/2023 Sorry, but it’s still a rail fail ridden by a mere 3,000 passengers a day and costing the taxpayers $257,000 a day.
It sort of sounds like your explaining it to someone who already understands the process
Ola!

Rite On/ Love the Photos! Mahalo Nui 🤙
In other cities one can touch with their bank card. :(
weʻre working on that :)
This is great!
How about making it run until at the 11:30 pm
just voted for the Honolulu Zoo
I'm a big fan of public transit but the current hours of operation make it difficult to be practical for most people unless the work near Aloha Stadium/Pearl Harbor. It is difficult to try and get to Halawa Station before it closes. It's also disappointing to see Route A get affected as well. Hours need to be extended later for better community access.

I take the #1 bus from Kaimuki and transfer to the A bus (they run every 10 minutes) to Halawa Station for the Skyline and go to my fave Honolulu Kitchen in Waipahu! 😊❤
Thanks! Now I'm hungry! Glad you utilizing Skyline to support the local businesses out that side!
Where do you park to catch the train?
there are 3 large park and rides at: Keoneʻae UH West Oʻahu Station: 304 stalls Honouliuli Hoʻopili Station: 344 stalls Hālawa Aloha Stadium Station: 590 stalls Coming from the west, it would be best to use the Keoneʻae UH West Oʻahu station park and ride.
this is a great idea and really helps encourage ridership of thebus and skyline. 👍🏽
Totally CUTE ❤❤
The video says Hoaeae Hoopili not hoaeae west loch
This is great. Hope to see these improvements implemented ASAP.
Congratulations
If I'm going on a trip and ride to the airport station, can I park in the park and rides overnight? Right now, the lots close.
or how about you take TheBus/Skyline?
that was when I first got my HOLO Card
So how much is it?
the same as TheBus. For example, if you are an Adult, it is $3.00 for a ride. Tapping your HOLO card also comes with a 2.5 hour transfer period. letting you on to Skyline or another TheBus for free, as long as it is within the 2.5 hours.
Hopefully Skyline will extend to the City of Honolulu expected in 2029/2031.
Can I get holo card at Honolulu airport?
at the stations, i don’t think you can at airport
Waste money
Use GOOGLE maps to plan your route. Click on the blue square with the right angle arrow to start.
Use GOOGLE maps to plan your bus/rail route. Click on the blue square with the right angle arrow to start. It gives you the nearby bus stop, time, transfer points of second or third bus. Even knows the weekday/weekend hours. Try 'em.
I used this stop to get to the Regal the other day. Why is there no pedestrian bridge going directly to the top of the hill? It's very dangerous walking next to all of those reckless drivers down on that shoddy side of the road path. It doesn't even have real bollards built in, only temporary dividers.
it's called a haole card? 😆
yall fucked over so many people by changing route c so drastically
Fail in the first thirty seconds: "You need a Holo card" but fails to mention where the hell I get one of those.
they've been available at 7-11, foodland, times, ABC stores, satellite city halls, and more (and online and now in TVMs) for over 3 years now. can't you google a question like that too?
There's another video that specifically talks about where to get a HOLO card. This video even tells you what video to watch after.....
@@hnldtsperiod eat them up 😛🙏

Please make sure they all know that ppl need the holocard to enter and exit the rail station.
