Alan Watts - Understanding your dark side with Carl Jung
📚 Join me in the cozy solitude of a country cottage surrounded by my cherished books, where I reflect on the profound influence of Carl Gustav Jung's teachings. As I gaze at the shelves, dominated by Jung's volumes, I am compelled to share the enduring impact he has had on my intellectual journey.
🌌 Key Points Discussed:
Introduction to Jung's Legacy: Delve into the transformative impact of Carl Jung on my intellectual and spiritual evolution.
Balancing Eastern Philosophy: Explore how Jung's insights provided a balancing influence during my late adolescence, steering me away from excessive fascination with exotic ideas.
Acknowledging the Dark Side: Reflect on Jung's profound principle of recognizing the polarity of life, particularly his rejection of the absolute conflict between good and evil, and the implications for personal and cultural understanding.
Integration of Egoism: Explore Jung's revolutionary perspective on egoism, acceptance of one's dark side, and the necessity of integrating, rather than condemning, the aspects of oneself that may seem troubling.
🤔 Thought-Provoking Insights:
Acceptance as a Moral Achievement: Uncover the moral dilemma of acceptance, as discussed by Jung, and its role in healing, forgiveness, and the journey toward self-discovery.
Egoism as a Divine Will: Contemplate the idea that egoism, when understood and embraced, can lead to profound personal growth, resembling a divine will.
🌐 Universal Themes: Jung's teachings transcend cultural and philosophical boundaries, providing a unique perspective that resonates with the human experience globally.

This is good I have to keep the curtain slightly open to reflect not reoccurr but to humble myself yet never to open the window completely if never make it again ...this I know
I'm not proud for nothing is glamours one I don't wish on anyone but it's real had to be for a puy because y never recall any form of fun ever .only darkness sadness sorry never any light laughter yet I still stuck it out until I was pulled out of away .
Well there it is ..had to dance with the devil to know his moves
Mind blown
our minds are an accumulation of our thoughts. Thoughts the accumulation of our environment, energy, and spirits. Free the soul. Fill the heart. ❤️💙🩵🖤
All that I can ever know is that I am (The father), therefore, wisdom (Jesus Christ) comes by knowing nothing (unconditional love: Holy Spirit)
Imagine being in the same room as jung and watts 2 great.minds
I imagined the same.
Stay strong people!

Me too
I took fingers from my right hand and nerve reaction on my left leg at 12 years old. I was a curious boy and found the answer to my experiment rather quickly. Progressive development is a true explanation.
Spirituality is creating your own reality by learning from your stepping stones and raising your vibration to be your best self and achieve your mission goals in this lifetime.
actually this makes alot sense to me... i kind of live like that whithout even being aware of the tradition. it just feels natural to me... i mean most religions are more about power and control then anything else ... they lost the essence ... think those 4 core principles are the essence and also the reason why its just healthy to choose to live by thees "values". ... ...being spiritual not religeous... doing the right thing for the greater good not just for personal gain... no need to live on your knees as long you dont put those close to you down. dont be so greedy. there would be enough for all of us... but yo i guess every herd got its black sheep but the european mind is more down whith the devil, the EGO ... false light blindet by there beauty lol. ..who are the real Savages? not everything that shines is gold... the devil is a liar. no matter which shade of brown or whatever... positiv giving or Negative taking... balance just some thoughts and thnx for providing these infos. PEACE out & greetings from Germany
Please can someone recommend any spiritual therapist?
Is she on TikTok?
It is important that you express and talk to a spiritual therapist about the things you have been through. Anything to just release them and stop them playing over in your mind. If things have fallen apart, know that they only fall apart when they're not stable in the first place.
@@steceymorgan814 I would recommend you seeing the videos of Mooji. In my case, what he says reach me with such precise straight to the heart message, with a level of warm natural deepness, and the most important thing, he says it in a simple, very simple and straightfoward pointings. Give it a try if you are seeking for truth.
Most people have no problem living in the dark side.
Hi there. Are you able to provide me with the name and artist of the track you used in this video? Thanks if you can. Have a nice day! th-cam.com/video/ZmUCHYHsiXM/w-d-xo.html
Did Jung have to listen to shitty music whilst doing his work... the music has ruined what I would like to hear
Was not aware that Jung believed in reincarnation. Is that so ? Or is that just Watts' personal interpretation ?
So many ads you can't even enjoy the lecture.
The ads come from youtube, i am not monetizing this video. I recommend you to use a browser like Brave to avoid the ads✌
No way you don’t have TH-cam premium and are complaining about ads….
Are you new to the internet?
imagine a future where all the past is piled up with nothing missing
The dark side isn’t as bad as the consequences of denying ourselves
So true
Very powerful. We are all almost divine men & women but for our individual egos. And that makes the difference.
Yes.
Thank you for sharing this Life transforming

It goes even further because the Universe is but a projection of the imaginary guilt we felt when we thought we left God. Luckily it was only a dream and our way back is but an inner journey, a journey without distance. ✨🖖🏻
Love the name of your channel ❤ Great information. Thank you so much!
Oh! Thanks for the appreciation ❤🥰
One thing I will never overcome is the robbery by religion of morals, empathy, forgiveness, love of one's enemies, honesty, etc. It's highly ridiculous to act and talk as though religion has ANY responsibility for the existence of these natural human traits. When the fictional religious characters, such as this Jesus, are mentioned in any philosophical talk, or any of the religious nonsense is gone on about, from my perspective the speaker loses all credibility. Utilizing religious fairytale stories as examples is one thing, but talking as though any of it is real is completely gullible ignorance. These days I'm almost offended for the human species by religion and people speaking of their religion. As if people can't easily research and learn the truths of the plagiaristic religious texts and the origins of their fake religion. It shouldn't bother me, but it's especially bad when someone that's supposed to be a highly intellectual philosopher continues to reference characters and events that were never real as if they are.
How can you say for a fact they were fake? Is that not arrogance in its own sense
@@wherecreativitydies Simply historical facts and evidence.. Do you really need me to prove it to you? That's the entire problem.. Gullibly believing in made-up stories instilled by fear, lies, and brainwashing because of ignorance without researching to see where it all came from outside of religious text. It's the same with politics, although not as extreme as religions.. I'll share just one link to help you out for the most common religion in my part of the world.. it's only a tiny sample of the massive amounts of factual information available that anyone can access to show how ridiculously fake religions are. I was raised in church and always knew it was a load of fairytale lies, but it's been great to find how right I really was.

do you have to put the annoying ambient music behind for this lecture? absolutely hate that shit.
Ah, Alan Watts talking of Carl Jung's work. I have love for both of these now-passed-on men. You could say they were smart, but not in the ordinary sense. They managed to think outside the box, yet inside another's box, just so that they could help the boxed-in thinker out of their tight box. Just like ancient shamans who deliberately took in the illness or malady of the client, so that they could show their client how to heal from it. I love this!
When i hear Alan Watts it's like he puts into words what ive always known but never been able to put to words.❤
Like wise its so damn soul soothing isnt it 😊
When my world went upsidedown ,a 360 x4,and still trending water in a shallow pool. I still am healing ,but listening to him reminds me of what I always knew and believed oddly.no words. But much gratitude
Same here. Alan Watts was the first being that i heard saying something like "You know very well what is happening, but we learn to forget the obvious". I feel so much truth in that. Hope you the best, thanks for sharing❤
I couldn't help but shed a tear with little me and hug her immensely!!
We've all lived all the chracters within our own constructs
One can never control IT, but One is always expected to learn from IT
You hate the religions because you fear the evil you carry and are unwilling to examine IT
It’s is allways a good morning because there is never a bad time to wake up ⛅️-K-K-Ketamine ❄️
Much love ❤️
Why do i despise all religions
Ahhh.... Not to worry; sounds like you're suffering a mild case of Agnosticism.... Common side effects include: questioning authority, challenging one's biases, and critical thinking. In many cases, this is merely temporary, and at any rate is (sadly) not contagious. Welcome, friend! Vive le resistance!
Ahhhh sanity at last. I wish everyone could innerstand what he is saying in all his lectures. I feel alone in a world of millions of people. Like Im the only one😂. I could use some LSD🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for no music!
No I get it I get pleasure from being evil because I'm bored everything bores me
What an egotistical jackass.
😂Feelings Are True ……🌞
